Great vid, as always, JC! Huge WDB with a nice set of rattles, indeed! Beautiful, but feisty, baby Bull. Way to be courageous, Johnny-no fear in holding the baby bull. 💪🏼 Cool photography of the Checkered G. S. Johnny, the snake handler! 😉
@@chetchurchill9524 thanks Chet!!
Definitely a slow-down, but spring will be here before you know it. 😁
@@CandysCritters Can’t wait for spring!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for another great video !
@@johnbarker4244 my pleasure!! I really enjoy making videos!!
Getting out of school and straight herping, that's the life! Some nice finds for Dec in my book. Nothing but lizards out here in AZ and a few snakes by their dens.
@@smetlogik Yes from books 📚 to snakes 🐍🤣… Yes we are lucky here in South Texas!!
That’s some great finds for November! I have those same long tweezers for the small venomous snakes and they are not too great! They have zero gripping strength.
@@billchambers5348 Actually it was the bugging of December! They do an ok job for me, I just wish they had a better grip. Thanks for watching!
@ yes, sorry. You did say December 1st. Not sure why I was thinking November!
@@herpingwithjc try coating the first 3 inches or so with that liquid or spray-on silicone that they have to repair or add on tool grips. I bought mine with silicone and they grip pretty well. 🤷♀
Great video
@@commercialelectrician133 thanks 🙏
Hopin' it's not the last.
Do NOT pick up dead rattlesnakes. They can still bite and envenomate after death. I was shocked you did that. Decapitated snakes can still bite too
@@MFBURNS7909 I’ve been dealing with venomous snakes for 30 years now, I’m well aware of the fact that a dead snake can still envenomate you. If you notice I picked it up from the tip of the tail, far away from its head. Also the snake had obviously been deceased for a while. Thanks for your concern though.
Hey, i saw your old video about finding chameleons in Florida. I know the world of chameleon hunting is very secretive but i was wondering in what general location of Orlando you found them in as i live here and have never seen one and would love to find some.
@The-Reptile-Room unfortunately I swore to secrecy. And I’m a man of my word. Hope you can understand.
@herpingwithjc well do you have any recommendations of areas they might be found
@The-Reptile-Room I was taken there, I don’t know the city well. So unfortunately no.
Great video
@@commercialelectrician133 thanks!!!
Excellent finds! Thanks for the video
@@ClearBrookExotics my pleasure!!! Thanks for watching!!
I think Johnny won the ice cream. Road Cruising Rule 3.42 in the state of Texas says, "Calling the first found snake shall be overridden if another party in the group calls a species and you find at least three of them in a row"
@@smetlogik 🤣 you might be right on that one Rob!!
Love the head coloration on the baby bull
@@stirfrysends it was a really nice animal!! Thanks for watching!!
Appear to be Bobwhites, and not Scaled Quail. I like all snakes in south Texas . . . few better than the Emory’s Rat Snake (I still know them as Great Plains Rat Snakes, per Roger Conant’s field guide). Beautiful, healthy specimen.
Great video (as usual), JC! Nice to see Johnny’s graduated to the front seat! Awesome photography (as always)!
@@chetchurchill9524 thanks Chet!!!! Always appreciate you.
3:05 ah yes, chasing armadillos, one of lifes great pleasures
@@typicalshenaniganz gotta love it 😆
Right?!
Great stuff JC! I thought maybe you were done for the year, glad to see these. I saw a dor eastern milksnake yesterday in central PA. It’s been way warmer than usual but never expected to see any snakes this time of year!
@@billchambers5348 Thanks Bill!! I have a couple more videos to post before the end of the year.
@ awesome can’t wait to see them. Do you have an instagram where you post some of your photos you always take?
@@billchambers5348 I do, but I don’t really post much of my finds.
@ okay I searched for it yesterday day under your RUclips name with no luck.
@ it’s j.c.aceves
Good trip!
@@CandysCritters thanks!
Awesome man 👍 what does herping with JC mean if you don't mind lol?! Just wondering if your name has the initials JC? Lol
@@herpermike_ indeed lol… My name is Juan Carlos. Thanks for watching Mike!!
@herpingwithjc cool man thanks 👍 I was just wondering if maybe you were saying JC as in Jesus Christ lol. But I just thought I would ask
Always wondered myself, Juan. Kudos to Mike for simply asking what JC stands for! 🙂
Great question, Miguel!! 😉
Beautiful and healthy baby gopher snake! Couch’s are always great finds. Rob S. is a wealth of info as evidenced by his knowledge of oak trees and fly natural history. 🙂 West Texas scenery is fabulous indeed. Green for sure. Spectacular views to be sure! 😮 Yep; most likely Mexican Free-tailed Bats. That Canyon Lizard was a pretty guy. Night Snakes are truly fascinating little serpents. Fun times all things considered with you and Mike in WTX!
@@chetchurchill9524 thanks for watching and commenting as always Chet!!
From vinegaroons to trash pandas, with a few herps in between. Glad you stopped to enjoy the view. We enjoyed our recent trip out there so much! That little night snake was a great find.
@@CandysCritters yes we had a good time!! Love the views out there!!! Thanks for watching 🙏
The WTX grind, you did well, all things considered. Man, you covered a lot of ground if you cruised the TeePee road all the way from Alpine. I think that tree was an Emory Oak? The flies do some weird thing with the tree making nests for the flies to hatch their babies? Can't remember, but I remember the same thing here in AZ once. Could be way off. That raccoon had your drinks for you.
@@smetlogik yeah we did good all things considered! We covered allot of ground!!! Oh that’s interesting… Emory Oak huh 🤔. That raccoon was having a ball lol. 😆
Good work. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
@@awkonradi thanks for watching!!!
Bummer you didn’t see a ton of stuff, but the adventure is a big part of it and you guys had a pretty good one!
@@billchambers5348 we sure did Bill!! It’s awesome to be out in West Texas!
Super green at the private property, bet if you had more time to explore, you'd turn up some cool things there. Love those boxies. WTX, nothing like it. Blows me away not much traffic and the one coach is dor. Sucks.
@@smetlogik I haven’t seen it that green in a while! Yeah Ornate Desert Box Turtles are pretty awesome!! Yeah the DOR baby Coach was a shame. Thanks for watching Rob!!
Sweet looking coaches out that way!
@@loub747 indeed 👍
Great stuff JC! Wish you had more luck flipping, but you always seem to see more cruising! I had a box turtle crossing the road yesterday, which is crazy! We have had several cold nights with frost, hopefully he was bee lining to his winter spot!
@@billchambers5348 thanks bud!!! Hope the boxie found a good spot to hide during winter!!

Those coaches were AMAZING! 🩷
@@CandysCritters agree 👍
Two pink ones right out of the gate, nice. Got that one capture on vid, surprised it was still there. When you get to the cut shining my cut shining PTSD kicks in. 😅 Those donkeys at the end, just chillin'.
@@smetlogik yeah can’t believe we got that lucky with the pink coaches!!! Haha cut shining can be tough!! So many🫏 😂
Neat finds! Always love a good Coachwhip! What was the Atrox BTW it had a tiny head?
@@jaimeortega4940 yes Coachwhips are awesome!! Sorry I didn’t understand the question about the atrox?
It didn't have a large Western Diamondback Sized head.
@@jaimeortega4940 it was a bit skinny and it was a baby.
Hi no this was a gravid female.
Those are some crazy red coach whips. I think the black tail was my favorite and it’s a real bummer about all of those DOR’s

Great vid, JC & Johnny!! Stunning photography (as always)! What a night for gorgeous baby emoryi’s!
@@chetchurchill9524 thanks 🙏
5 or more snakes is a great night in my book. Johnny will be diggin' into his allowance to pay for your ice cream. Great catch by Johnny on that frog, he was stoked.

Chocolate ice cream for Johnny. I'm jumping in your car next time I go to TX, I want to win a FREE ice cream. Always cool to see a GPR. That long almost looked claris phase, but you could see a hint or orange in there. Cool looking snake.
@@smetlogik you can jump in my car anytime brother!!! Thanks for watching 🙏
That longnose was GORGEOUS! Inquiring minds want to know - what flavor did Johnny get? 😉
Thanks!!! He got chocolate!!!
Such a cutie hatchling Texas Spiny! Prickly pear tunas “ripe for the picking” indeed! South Texas with its sunsets has its own special beauty. That was a rare treat to see so many wild turkeys at once! Great call on the garter, Johnny . . . and great bravery in not being disturbed about its bite!👏🏻💪🏻 Stunning photography on that 2nd baby atrox and the checkered baby right afterward. Dittos on loving those Great Plains’ Rats!! One of my very favorite TX snakes! What a wild color morph of a long nosed! Insane! Great photography on the little atrox’! 11 snakes on a very warm night … great herping man!
Snakes were sure moving, despite the heat.
@@chetchurchill9524 As always Chet, thank you for watching buddy!!!
Yw my friend. Thx for what you do.
Wow JC you had some great luck! I can’t believe you found any snakes in that heat. We went out every night from 29 jun to 7 July when down there and didn’t see any snakes in that same heat. You got the luck! Snakes are slowing down up here in PA but did see a few today!
@@billchambers5348 yeah I really lucked out!!! Thanks for watching!!
Lol, the end of this is very clearly the Sarasota spot. Lena Lane for anybody interested.
@@Bugboy_pk lol I have found 2 in Sarasota, but I've found ~35 at the Winter Park spot, because I went there immediately after the infamous youtube vid was released. I have never found one at the Port Charlotte spot, and have never tried Babson. I posted it because I am tired of herpers gatekeeping. None of these spots are theirs, and they're also not yours either. All of these spots are publicly accessible. Are some herpers assholes who trespass and ruin things for those of us that don't? Yes, but that does not mean you have some unique right to enjoy them in the wild.
@ y purposefully make things harder for the property owners knowing ppl will try and trespass. Most ppl won’t find online databases but a lot of irresponsible people are on RUclips, ppl that don’t understand how sick of all this bs prop owners have been dealing with for years and someone is gonna get hurt sooner or later
@@Bugboy_pk If you hunt chams too, then you know as well as I do that some of the worst folks out there are the Florida herpers, most of whom already know about these spots. I have seen countless herpers being jackasses, including Keith himself. I think the majority of the ppl who will see my comment will be normal folks who just want to see them in the wild. I think everybody should get the chance. You might be different, but for the most part, none of said herpers give a crap about the homeowners; they only care about trying to keep spots to themselves. I am not inviting anybody to do anything to homeowners, but the worst offenders largely already know about these locations.
Close to the old Miakka farmers market ?
Amazing Longnose never seen that color phase before!
@@jaimeortega4940 I know!! Such a beautiful specimen!!!
