Drawn to Life Prototype MS6120406 - Full Playthrough
For a work-in-progress write-up on all of the changes between this prototype and the final game, please check out this link: tcrf.net/User:Laxbby/Drawn_to_Life_Prototypes
This is a completed playthrough of the fourth and latest public prototype of the first Drawn to Life game for the DS, called MS6120406.nds. The prototype is only a small demo consisting of the beginning of the game up to the end of the second level, but it still contains a treasure trove of differences and old concepts for the game. I recorded this video as a way to get footage that I could easily backtrack to and examine while writing the above TCRF article without having to boot up the entire game as often. As such, I w...

Tomodachi Life: Tomodachi Collection Mii Transfer

A video for TCRF, showing off the Japan-only software that converts Miis from their Tomodachi Collection DS cartridge to the 3DS game. More info here: tcrf.net/Tomodachi_Life/Regional_Differences/Tomodachi_Collection_Importing Recorded using Snickerstream and a real Japanese New 3DS, which is why the audio/video can be a bit jittery. Hopefully it still works :) Chapters: 0:00 - Moving Software ...

I was corrupting Rhythm Heaven for fun, when I somehow got this really stable corruption that garbled the palette and disabled the SFX/audio cues. There was also about a quarter-second of emulator input delay, and I'm not really that good at Rhythm Heaven to begin with. Fun! The recording of this video made my flow go down by 6 points, by the way. Here's a link to the Corrupter I was using: red...

greetings from rapoville! jowee said he was a little embarrassed seeing himself in the prototype footage
Awesome...
My first ds game, Love this game, i still have and play it❤❤❤
Note: I am the greatest Drawn to Life player of all time, so any gameplay mistakes you see in this video were actually optimal and fully intentional. Promise :) I intend on uploading full playthroughs of the other three prototypes soon. I'm also going to eventually upload rips of the prototypes' music that changed between releases. I'm aiming for those to hopefully be uploaded within our lifetimes.
Can I do this with a copy of Tomodachi Collection that's on a hacked 3DS? I don't have an actual cartridge, is there a way to trick the 3DS?
no, you need a real cartridge for this to work
@@laxbby_ Thanks for the info and for the quick reply.
Seriously wondering if you can get this to work on Citra....
hello I have a question but the collection thomodachi new life 3ds I can use it in itallia with my nintendo and in Italian can I please have an answer?🙂
I keep coming back to this one
Im currently making a video essay about Tomodachi Life, and I have a Japanese 3DS, AND A COPY OF COLLECTION, but I can't find the download tool rom ANYWHEREEEE :')
Good stuff. I'm glad Vinny let us hear this on the public access I never knew it existed
i’m guessing vinny mentioned this song recently, because this videos analytics are going nuts right now
Vinny was watching a bunch of public access videos last night. One of them was a video on battery disposal that included two of his songs, with this being one of them.
@@Danfun360 i appreciate the context
Don't forget to dispose of your hazardous materials correctly
When disposing lithium batteries hits just right
Cape Media Center moment.
I fucking love this track so much
dungeon: hell
but I can have different Miis on both thomodachi life collection new life and thomodachi life original?
yes, they're separate games, so they will have separate miis
Cool this video but on thomodachi collection new life can you create Miis from scratch even if you already have the original thomodachi?
yes, the "new game" sequence continues after transferring the miis. you can also do the transfer process anytime after the beginning of the game
A shame he never talked on this track, it's one of my faves off the album and the ending bit reminds me of Vin's work on Room to Breathe.
I'm curious. Say if I had a U.S/European version of Tomodachi Life and used this software to port a Tomodachi Collection save to the U.S/European versions.. Would it still work? Would it crash? (Use H-Shop to get the Japanese moving software on 3DS...)
The software can only actually transfer Miis to the Japanese version. If you use the software on a non-Japanese game, the game won't even detect that any Miis were transferred. If you have a Japanese copy of the game, though, it works normally for that version regardless of console region
It's literally Rhythm Heaven but hard
why am I looking at a beat city gameplay ?
THATS IT WHEN I GET JOB I AM BUYING JAPAN 3DS. (Dang The eshop shut down next month nvm)
Always homebrew
@@Spearmph2 true
@@Timetoleaveforever they’re right. I recommend EVERYONE mod their 3DS no matter what. It makes it instantly a better console.
"Reality is often disappointing."
Struggle actually is accessible in normal play by using a move but all moves have no power points
it is, but it isn't able to be added to your moveset in normal gameplay, which is why it's here. it's the same for a lot of the moves here actually, they're technically used, just not accessible in your list
Move: is watching
Really nice video, I even checked the page in tcrf to understand better. Interesting how most of those moves are just orbs.
0:03 What does they mean?
I can't read any Japanese, so I can't provide any translations for the menus. the description has a link to the TCRF page, which has translations for some of them, but it is incomplete
probably something like "do you want to transfer from the DS version?"
@@dariop_200 thanks :)
iirc, during vinny's 2016 run of crono trigger, he talked about this song and how the Ocean Palace theme was his main inspiration for it
Imagine transferring your Tomodachi Collection island to Tomodachi Life, and when you click on the dreaming icon whilst a mii is sleeping, the first dream you see is the one where the old island is
That mii would be the most aware one. protect it.
it’s actually only possible for miis transfered from tomodachi collection DS to have the “familiar” dream
@@premuimincognito7115 oh ok
nice ❤
this song brings me to pleasant times in my mind during sad times
I nnever even noticed the "elevator" annd thought the cylinder is just flying lol
Very underwhelming but quite surprising
Not me realizing i dont make sense
Fun Fact: When the poles come from underneath the level, that's what the elevator object is referring to. After the animation cycle it uses concludes, the game just replaces it with a static of a pole in the location where the elevator's animated pole was left. I knew this existed, I just didn't know what it was called (I had never read the Rhythm Heaven Wiki much at the time).

Cool
Challenge: with all those models extracted from the game files, make an HD version of built to scale Edit: As in a 3D animation
I mean, Heaven Studio has that
MelonDS (and I think Desmume might've added it recently?) has a feature in the Video Settings to increase the native resolution, which makes the models look more smooth and "HD". Thats probably your best bet, I don't have the skills required to do something like that manually lol
Kinda interesting :D Thank you for this little investigation
It's been a model the whole time.
Really cool discovery!!
This is really interesting, thanks for sharing!!
Vinny has actually mentioned this track during his 2015 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night playthrough. He talked about how he felt inspired to replicate the feel of the drums from "Crystal Teardrops" on the SotN soundtrack.
Honestly a very interesting video, good job!
While it may be a bit underwhelming, nobody before you had managed to figure this out!
I never really paid good attention to the way the cylinder things pop out of the floor...or the fact that an elevator thingy even existed in the first place! Ya learn something new everyday!
Dang that's interesting
That's cool
Oh ok
If you don't believe me... Just play the game
