Question: I have a Porche Design ORFINA chronograph. However it does not have ORFINA on the face, it has PD logo. Otherwise it’s identical. Purchased new in 1986. It does have ORFINA movement. I believe it’s the reissue and I’ve seen descriptions ’PD chrono’ Is the PD chrono collectible?

I recall the short battery life and impossible to view in sunlight, so wanted a continuous display. Now I realize that being able to see a watch's time, continuously, like having your desk in front of a 6 foot wall clock isn't that good of idea. That your little discipline to push a button, to see that time, then going to that red black off display, like some Star Trek device, you were better off, mentally, not marching to time. Plus it just wasn't some electronic calculator that told time, pushing that button; no, it sprung to life. There was satisfaction in it, reading the time. Those LEDs lighting up never getting old to look at. There's also a satisfaction, in yes, you can make this better with LCDs, but I choose not to. Deal with it, I'm on island time.

Hi, I have the same exact model of 2.12 minute. Unfortunately is completely destroyed by the rust, the movement is in great condition I don’t why 😂. My question is if I take an 81950 dial and glass would fit? Obviously I’ll take the original dial!

I have one of these. Love the individual dots that make up the digits a lot more than the segments you see on other digital watches. They light up the circuit board a little too. It’s also just a great conversation piece. It came with a paper that explained the concept of digital time, as if it was explained to someone from another century

Seems that resistor and capacitor are not soldered together ! ( 0:51) The legs are just squished but not soldered. Production failure ..............you should fix it for better and longtime working of the watch.

You seem to be saying that this watch is the actual one owned by Jimmie Mattern. Is that the case? If so, can you confirm that it's in the Frontiers of Flight Museum? I have one of 250 of these watches that were prizes given by the Pure Oil Company. It's inscribed on the case back as the "Jimmie Mattern Round the World Model" along with "Prize Award" and "The Pure Oil Co. U.S.A." It's one of only two that I have ever seen and one of my real treasures!

If you are buying to please others, something is wrong. End of the day, as you said, a lot of Invicta buyers aren't into high horology and I'll add that those that are don't always find it worth the exorbitant price tags. Enjoy what you buy is the motto and Invicta does well at making that possible for lots of people, which was the original mission of the actual founder in 1837. It's the brand that got me into watches, and, while I don't ever mistake them for high end pieces, they actually spec very well for their price point, comparatively. I went on to buy Breitling, TAG, Longines, Tutima, Hamilton, Tissot, Certina and many more, but Invicta remains very affordable fun, and props to Eyal for the marketing machine. Minus points for deceptive marketing in some cases, but many brands are guilty of that, unfortunately.
