I think the essence of the speech is in the 35, 36th minute of the video, where swamiji speaks about how the mantra harmonises the various sheaths of vibration within a person.

Namaste Swami Ji, I was watching your youtube video of a discourse you gave 3 years ago on "Steps to Attain Self-realization in Advaita Vedanta". I have a question regarding that. Would be thankful to see your response. Somehow the 10 friends story does not make sense to me. First of, if they were friends, wouldn't they know each other by name and couldn't they have done a simple rollcall after crossing? Secondly, if they assert they were 10 friends to start with, they must have counted correctly before they entered the river. How then did they forget how to count once they crossed the river? Even if one or two of them were struck by fear from the stressful river crossing experience into the mental state where they could not think straight anymore, it does not seem plausible that every one of the 10 friends would make the same mistake of not counting themselves. This example seems too contrived and made to force fit into the vedanta discussion you go into at the end of the story. Would be great to hear your thoughts. If the story is slightly modified as follows, it would make more sense. A group of people who are strangers to each other are gathered at the river bank to cross the treacherous fast flowing river. A coordinating official at the river bank groups people into batches of 10 and sends them along to cross the river, and instructs them to make sure that one of them take a count after crossing to make sure everyone in the batch they belong to have made it across safely. In this situation, due to the risky nature of the river crossing, with each one thankful they made it across alive, could possibly make a mistake in counting like you have described. Your thoughts? Turiya Shoonya Turiyaditha Shoonya might be considered easier to attain its a realization rather than integration. Turiyaditha, on the other hand, requires the additional step of "embodying and living out that realization in the context of everyday life, which can be more demanding". yogis experience gold in turiya while dieties are different ornaments (metaphorically) Dieties never cease to exist while yogi may or maynot at their will. Avatar the dieties taking a human form for corrections. Thus the order 1.Spiritual aspirant 2.attained turiya 3. Dieties/avatars 4.attained shoonya 5. Turiyaditha intergrated it into daily living Turiyaditha eg: ramakrishna paramahamsa, ramana maharshi etc

🙏 My understanding is which mantra to use is not important. What is important is to keep only on thought or a train of thought, and that will lead us to a profound Silence with practice and determination. Just mind training kind of thing. Am I right??

Why do we anglicize Sanskrit, River Ganga . ....it has to be pronounced as संस्कृत and not सांस्कृत .

Why shadhus do not know the science behind japa or repetition of mantra.Because of this lack of scientific knowledge,people do not take it seriously & become uninterested.
