New Subscriber here. Excellent Video 😍 You explained things Very well. Can I purchase the pattern?
Thank you for taking the time to do the videos. They have helped me tremendously. 🎉
I will have to try your way. I am missing the bobbin pin anyway and I see you didn’t even use it. This is cool. Thank you
Thank you🥰
OML Sherry Thank You so freaking much for breaking this down…I was loosing my dog-on-mind trying to figure this out
Thank you. The best scrunchy demo I’ve ever seen!
Perfect. Thank you.
Good clear info. Thank you. I’ve been sewing >70 years but am new to industrials. My 1541s arrived almost a week ago. With the holidays it hasn’t been turned on yet. Looking forward to your intro series. New subbie here. Merry Christmas and hello from San Diego, California USA. 🌳
May I ask, where did you purchase your Juki and were you happy with the service. I am wanting to buy the same machine and I don’t live far from San Diego
@@mariasoler7826 Sunny’s Sewing in Dallas, Texas. I worked with Sam. Answered all my questions, stayed in contact until machine safely arrived at my home. Couldn’t be happier. Also, machine came FULLY assembled and installed into its table. Was strapped securely and screwed to a pallet. Shipped by truck. Perfect. Another good resource is Steve at Sewing Gold in Chicago. He also has a YT channel with lots of helpful vids. I plan to buy my cylinder arm from Steve. Sam is perfect place to get the 1541s! Tell him Cyn (friend of Lauren’s) sent you. B/c it’s Memorial Day weekend they might even hv a special. I received the upgraded table with wheels. A game changer! Let me know if you hv further questions.
@@cynforrest thank you for your reply. I guess I just assumed you purchased your machine locally. But I guess it really doesn't matter who you purchase from. It just gets ordered and delivered to your home. I am also assuming if there are any issues it can be handled over the phone and the dealer can walk you through it until resolved or they can refer you to a you tube tutorial. I like that yours came fully assembled. I will first try to find a local dealer before I go out of state. Not all dealers sell Juki industrials. Thank you.
This was very helpful, thank you!
I like it I have two yukis the DNU 1541-S and the yuki TSC-441 I have never had a problem
Great video!
Hello Sherry, I purchased a Juki 1541S about 5 weeks ago. I wholeheartedly agree with you on the basics. I appreciate your thoroughness in the information you presented. I watched parts 1,2 and 3. You answered several questions I had and they were really quite helpful; where the servo motor is located and changing the speed, how to remove the knee lift and making the best adjustments based on where you want it to hit. Now, I don’t have to call the dealer to ask additional questions. I will now refer to the video on thread and needle sizes. Thanks again for you assistance.
Hello, thanks for the video. Why do you use two different Juki machines? Are they not both industrial?
Hello Sherry, I just recently purchased this pattern and I chose cotton and vinyl......I love how I'm not the only one who has OCD when it comes to aligning up your pieces.....I followed along with you w several pauses sewing this together. I do have to say you are a very good instructor......you showed that even though you make a boo-boo you are human. Some don't do that and to me it was impressive. My Tuban Tote turned out perfect! My recessed zipper was a tad off but I'm so pleased with it..........Thank you so much! PS I am now a big fan of yours and subscribed!
Love how you coloured these flowers...I thought the leaves were pretty good too!
Really clear and a lovely bag - I also would like to line it - do you have an idea how to do that?
OMG Big Big Help!! Thank You So Much:))
hiii is there a template available tyfs
Love your videos.
Great tutorial, came out GREAT! I made her cork version over the weekend! Would love to make one in vinyl?? Did you enlarge your pattern?? Thanks so much!
Gorgeous card Sherry!!!
Thanks...this was helpful. Do you have daughter with a RUclips channel Artisan Upholstery?
You do beautiful work Sherri
Sherry, good Morning, I have a question, why did you decide on the 1541 over the DU-1181N?
Hi there, I actually have both! I prefer the 1541. It sews a much nicer stitch and handles bonded thread and thickness much better. One day I may do a comparison video
@@SherryCarrigan1 thanks so much. I’m getting the 1541 and agonized over which one to get.
Thank you. I’m finally starting to make this today.
When sewing leather or leatherette, you're suppose to use a leather needle.
135x16 Tri (Diamond Point) to be exact, which is what stays in my machine. Didn't feel a need to divulge that info in the video, as I felt sure someone would be sure to let me know what I "should" be doing. Thanks for the tip.
I just made my first harlequin pouch today. I added a slip pocket and wanted to do the card slots also. So glad I found your tutorial. An I ask what seam allowance did you use when sewing the panels together? Thank you
Very nice. Great tutorial
Hello Sherry Great video
Where did you purchase all your appliqué stuff in your USB?
Thanks that helps a lot. Please do more appliqué with mix words.
Can you sew with regular string on cotton with this machine?
Where is your shop, Sherry? I would love to take an in-person class from you.
Can I ask you about your 1541s. I’m in the market deciding btw the 1541s and 1181n. Can you see linings (thinner material) on the 1541s??? Thank you for your help.
Susan, I actually have both machines. If the thinner fabrics are correctly interfaced, both machines will sew them. Neither will sew just plain cotton and other similar type fabrics without gathering them. I did have to reduce the foot pressure just a tad on the 1541S. 1541S is by far the superior machine and stitch quality is also superior to the 1181. 1541 was my first industrial machine. I got the 1181 just to see what all the hype was. I'm not as impressed with it. Hope this helps. 1541 is still made in Japan.
@@SherryCarrigan1 thank you!
If you don’t mind me asking another question, do you think the needle positioner would be a good addition to purchasing the 1541S for the extra money? Do you have it or do you wish you did?
@@smdembroidery there are definitely times I wish I had the needle positioned on my machine but since I didn’t get it in the beginning I’ve learned to be conscious of where my needle is and when I need to put it down if that makes sense.
What happens if you only want to use colors. How do u do it.
Missed the guide after the check spring. That guide is used twice; before and after takeup arm.
Thank you, but I've never been able to tell a difference.
I have the PR600 (yes, it’s old but runs great) I don’t have the manual but have looked online. I’ve yet to figure out how to swap colors between needles!!!
Dear Sherry, Your videos have guided me to frustration free swing on my Juki 1541, thank you for your knowledge and slow and direct instruction, you rock!! Any you can get me drunk any time!
You can wind that while you sew.
Yes I'm aware. Thank you.
Are Prismacolor pencils the best for coloring stamped images, I’m looking for a smooth look, without the white paper showing through. Thanks
I find that using light pressure and lots of layers help decrease the chance of the paper showing through. You can also use odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump to sort of melt the colored pencil pigment. I use Prismacolor, as they are my favorite, affordable, and you can get them in singles.
So the stop goes on the colour you want it to stop BEFORE it stitches THAT colour? It is confusing, hehe. They should have the hand sitting on the left side then we might remember. On the right it tells me it’s going to stop after it stitches out!
Hi sherry, I just got my machine today and all your videos are so helpful and the camera angles are so perfect.. Thank you for your time!
Excellent video. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for your instructive video Sherry. When you mentioned taking the thread out of the eye of the needle, it is also wise to remove it from the take up lever to prevent the thread from jamming the movement of the Take Up Lever. Thank you Scotty Allen
You are a good made a video indeed thank you so much I Juki 1541 with no manual so did know thread so you so appreciate
Thank you. Much needed information.
Thanks so much for sharing this so I didn't have to figure out the math!
Thanks so much for sharing. Is there a pattern for this?
No there isn’t. This is my own pattern which is not for sale.
