Toyota Mr2 RUSToration is Complete, what’s next?
Are you in Davie? I'm in Margate, we should meet
Im in Miami. I frequent the cars and coffee down by International mall monthly. That would be a good place to meet.
I just got a 91 na a month ago. The white one from ebay in Orlando. Iv been debating what swap to go with until I worked in a 95 nsx. The car sounded so nice. That's when I decided on 2gr, ordered a 11 seinna engine and harness yesterday, I'll be watching your vids as they post. Woodsport has a plug in play harness available now. And everything else will be from Frankenstein
Awesome. Wire gap can also get you sorted with a wire harness.
Saludos desde Panama !!!
Really appreciate your videos pal. Can i ask what size foam did you use if you don't mind letting me know 👍
Where were you able to get a condenser? Been trying to find one
Got one on rockauto 2yrs ago when they were available.
Where did you purchase that flywheel ,and is it a oem replacement,or light weight
Hello. Got the flywheel from an ebay seller. Oem replacement.
Thanks, I ended up getting a used one from a eBay seller that needs resurfacing, but a brand new one would’ve been nice.👍🏾
It’s very hard to find a brand new oem replacement, the only ones that I have found are for the 2.2 engine I’m not sure if it works on the 2.0
@@tarikadams8271 the 2.2/5sfe is different from the 2.0/3sgte
I'm glad you saw my post! Its awesome how well the rears hug the bumper and you really cant beat it for how cheap it was. I didnt bother putting on the fronts bc I have greddy skirts waiting to be put on 😆

Is thier a way to turn on fog lights with out head light bieng on
There is. I used the actual switch from the kit and it worked that way on my other mr2. I did not do a video on that though.
Nullllll sans interêt

@ thanks for the awesome video and reply
All great videos I just bought a 1991 SW20 Turbo with 71k miles Keep it up
Wow that is a good find. Thanks for watching
What do you have to do to get the tac to work with the gen 4? Do you put a different resistor in it? I have seen a few people mention it, but people say different things.
I used an msd tach adaptor but you can also modify the resistor in the cluster to achieve the same result.
Thanks for the video. Do you remember how you found the yellow clips for the vents...what search term? Did you refinish the window frame at all?

Great video! If you’re using an eBay radiator + Spal fans, I can send over some mounting tabs I 3D printed to reuse the existing holes on the fan shroud.
Thank you for the offer. I plan to reuse the existing oem fans, similar to what I did on the gen5 swapped mr2. Those fans actually work with minimal fab work for the mounting brackets.
The paint really looks good.
Thanks boss
Hermano where did you get the side window vents
Luckily they were in good condition when I received the car
I have 2 mr2 1991 a 1993 both white selling both together with a bunch of xtra parts let me know if you now some one who want them in florida
Where are you in florida?
Thanks for your videos, they been helpful for long time. I have a 1991 since 1995 and converted recently to an internal built 1mz-fe single turbo water intercooled standalone comp and all new suspension components. When I finish the paint I will start a you tube channel, you inspire me, thanks. I like the cleanest in your builds, some people put back dirty parts. Thanks again.
Awesome. I look forward to seeing your videos on RUclips. Appreciate the feedback.
Sunday morning video! Thanks for showing the back of the glass. I’ve always been scared to pop out the little triangle vents in fear of busting the tabs. It’s nice to see the back side of everything to see how it all fits back together.
Those tabs defiitely do bust easily. Mine broke when I painted my car. I used good double sided tape to keep them in place now.
For sure, I myself go back and watch my videos when removing parts as knowing what is in the back helps to reduce the risk of breaking parts.
Is really nice car. I have a question what's the paint code for that particular red I'm about to paint my mr2 . You are doing a really Nice work
Thank you. The color is Toyota super red code 3e5
@bitingantz thank you so much appreciated 🙏
Great video Ryan! Gen 4 swap first, then I hope to get working AC next. I will need to replace literally everything - compressor, condensor, evaporator, expansion valve, and all the underbody hard lines, which were mangled at some point by a previous owner. I will probably have to have lines fabricated or go with soft lines.
Step by step. Im hoping i can separate the line onthe passenger side without breaking
Greetings from Panama,
Very useful, awesome directions, easy to follow ✅✅👏🏽
Thank you
Good job man. I'm mentally preparing myself to do this work over the winter in my cargo-trailer-turned garage. Need to get a heater, I'm in MA.
@@jferreira879 it’s not really hard to do. Just hand tighten the lines in the frunk when reinstalling. The torque specs in the bgb are too high, I used half the torque spec and it stripped out the bolt. Had to remove bolt and replace with another aftermarket bolt. Lesson learned.
Ryan. You are a great teacher. Very detailed explanation. All who are interested will surely benefit from this video presentation
@@johnbrown6466thank you
Thanks for the vid and happy thanksgiving yesterday. I have a once a year leak. I can’t imagine doing this job with the dash in.
@@peterstewart3806 with the glove out it’s not too bad. Btw the torque specs in the bgb for the pipe in the frunk are too much. The bolt is a very soft material and will strip if you use the torque specs in bgb manual. I had to remove that bolt and replace with another and just hand tightened.
Thanks for the video. I have a stock 1993 MR2 turbo with a slow refrigerant gas leak that I have not found. I may need a new expansion valve or A/C condenser. Your video will be a valuable guide when I check those two A/C parts.
@@flyntmyrick6291 awesome glad your enjoyed the video and will use as a guide. Hand tighten lines in the frunk, torque spec in bgb are too high.
Where did you source the factory fog light switch? Mine just broke updating my interior and it fell apart.
I got mine used but last time i checked they were available new from toyota.
can the oem head bolts from the 5sfe be reused when changing the head gasket if they appear to be in excellent condition?
Nul ,trop de blabla et pas foutu de refaire un étrier 👎
Is there anyway to change the crank pulley seal while the engine is in the car? I have a 2002 Caldina GTT. I'm now seeing oil leaking from that area.
Yes that can be done with engine in the car. .
@bitingantz ok kool. It's pretty bad right now. Do you have an Instagram/Facebook?
Unfortunately, Its a common problem in these engine
@@bitingantz It's my daily so I'm experimenting with the liquid molly engine stop leak until I get the kit to carry out the work. I'll post updates on my channel.
Nice brother. You didnt tell me your a yardie man. Will follow your channel.
I’m absolutely in love with the MR2, as a teen who’s been handed down the family Honda odyssey I’m dreaming of having one someday
Love the paint job! That’s a lot of work
You will own a mr2 one day. Keep the dream going and turn it into reality.
oh paint... neighbor of mine has a full paint booth. hes going to let me do my repaint on my 93. full color change to hakone green is what im planning on.. im dreading the full dissassembly of the chassis and fixing rust though. lol
My advise is to take your time. Most clips and bolts are aged and has the tendency to snap/ break. Patience goes a long way.
@ oh yea. It’s going to be a slow project. I’ve got my other 93 and my spyder to entertain me while it’s down being fixed.
Love it! That's no budget paint job. Complete dissasembly, painting the inside of the doors, under the hood and trunk, etc. Looks awesome!
@@grimson i figured if im going to do it might as well do it right. The owner of the shop is great to work with, keeps his word, detailed and turned around car in 3 weeks.
Looks like a great match! How much did you end up paying and did it include the rocker panel repair?
@@1emerson1 rocker repair was done by me and a friend. They did the body work to rockers and had to do some repairs to bottom of doors. In terms of pricing lets just say the shop was fair. I hope the shop gets support from the local community as they price based on condition but are very fair in a crazy miami market .

Looks so much better than the old single stage it replaced.
I’m so happy I went with this color. Thank you.
Looks very nice. The plus is that red goes faster!

Hola Amigo
Hi, thanks for the video. I wanted to ask if it's possibile to change the entire speedo with one that has different speed range. To be more precise, mine goes up to 110mph or 180kph (it's a japanese g-limited version 2.0 NA of 1993 and has both speed units) but I can't find the original one. Will it work if I get one that is only KPH and goes up to 200khp+? sorry about my english, hope i've been clear.
Hello. Unfortunately i have no experience with that so would not be able to advise accordingly.
@@bitingantz thanks anyway :)
