What was the response from the other members in the meeting to his comment about "if it's the kids or the parents missing something?.." Just curious. My child is also desperately missing in-person learning. Hybrid has been awful for us. Parents NEED to write letters, call the Legislatures, organize rallies, because "they" will drag this out as long as they can. Parents need to get loud and make it known they won't put up with this any longer.
There was no response. We have been actively engaging with anyone and everyone to no avail. This meeting was supposed to update us on our efforts and this is the response
So as a roofer your doing things repedtively everyday. You know about one topic so much that you do that one thing as your career. I know its dangerous ive done it myself i work construction on the side. But nobody is dissing on that are they? Nope. Firefighting requires many different tactics and ways of doing things, not every fire is the same not every car accident is the same not every medical call is the same were constantly getting improved equipment we have to learn, in your roofing job you may find yourself using a rope to secure yourself and you only know one or two knots for that, we know hundreds of knots and what each one is used for im not saying your job is easy and not dangerous but seriously do some ride alongs with your local fire dept your job may be listed in the top ten for one reason... People dont know how to secure themselves or mess around. You say youve done your research.. All ive seen you do so far is bitch about our job not being in the top ten dangerous jobs, guess what we dont care at all. Until youve actually been on a car accident, a 5 year old girl is trapped under a car screaming bloody murder while her mom is also trapped in the driver seat. You get the girl out but not able to save the mom in time before she stops breathing now how are you able to tell me that were drama queens when youve never been through any of that huh? People like you who know nothing about the fire service and say that have not a clue. I am not a hero and neither are you, so quit ur bitching and do some real research thanks
the videos you watch are once in a while things, i could find multiple videos of your type of career people falling as well, and your not even getting the point im trying to make, you have your opinion and i have mine, but until you actually do what we do dont diss on it because were passionate about what we do. just like we dont diss on what other people choose to do. and why watch the video if you dont even like it? makes no sense
@gators288 Your not even on the job bro. Don't make comments to others that are aspiring to get on the job when your clearly not. Everyone has a chance, and you shouldn't try to shut down anyone's dreams.
@MLopez0311 its great you were in the Marine Corps the best fighting force in the world and now your going to join the best firefighting force in the world. im finally going back to the The Rock again to brush up. good luck in the academy. your not a former Marine once you get past bootcamp your a Marine for life. Oorah. Semper Fi.
@24tanman good for your dad, pop-time will get you really far as a fireman. keep it up. have a nice career. if you could even make it through 18 weeks.
wish they would have our department go through that training so I wouldn't be the only fit firefighter who doesnt run out of breath! Guess that's volunteers for ya, kick ass video!

"He ain't heavy, He's my Brother."
Congrats!
u have no idea lol just passed my final cant wait to get in the field
it doesnt work that way brother u have to get assigned there and most ppl start out on engines but no they dont do ''hose work ''
truckies dont have to do hose work but u dont get that option to get into a truck company
not all the time traditionally with the new york city fire dept the taller guys are put on the trucks and shorter guys on engines.
You'll start out in an engine company.
Hardest Department to get on!

Deficiencies in different classes such as ropes, SCBA, and PT...it lets the instructors know that you need a little "extra attention"
