Stewart Lee - The J. L. Austin of Comedy
Просмотров 49 тыс.2 года назад
For years, Netflix described _Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle_ as "Reports of sharks falling from the skies are on the rise again, and nobody on the Eastern seaboard is safe." but at least he's still the J.L. Austin of this. From Stewart Lee's 2022 special, _Tornado._ www.stewartlee.co.uk/merch_download/snowflake-tornado/

The excesses of Dave Hill from Slade and Stu's rejected Fitness First campaign are a match made in heaven. And what a missed opportunity for product placement, mon pied. From _Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle,_ S4E4, _Death._ www.stewartlee.co.uk/merch_download/stewart-lees-comedy-vehicle-series-4/

DJ Blackjacket - Ten Band

Downtempo track from DJ Blackjacket aka Garrick Campsey aka Grak. One of those people so damn talented you'd hate 'if they weren't also the nicest guy ever. Pic unrelated, aside from being a dude in a black jacket. I don't remember Grak ever paying homage to Korean dictators. When this track is over, I suggest following it with some Gnarls Barkley ruclips.net/video/1ehSeYOr51E/видео.html

I Am The World Trade Center - Dancing Alone
A young Jacob Rees Mogs uncle has let himself go
When he says “ebeneezer goode” I thought he was saying “ebonies are good”
There are no patholgists small enough - I fell on the floor
Listening to Stewart Lee has made me realise that there is no good reason for me to look after my physical fitness, as death is inevitable for us all, and any thing we do in between is just prolonging the agony. As a result, I have let myself go.
Well, there's the free water bottle.
Not only can I see why he didn't get the Fitness First gig, I can see why he never made pathologist (that's not how it works, Stu...)
Ahahahahahahahah oh my God he’s a genius, and so am I because I like him
lab mice do get post mortems sometimes. a service provided by very small university vets
I found a shirt from this album release recently. Glad to discover it because this band rocks
And yet, that mouse has made his mark on life - on our lives - not just a ripped thread in the fabric of the universe
What a smug pandering coward.
I’m so glad Stewart brought up Dave Hill from Slade. Sloth or mouse - take your pick.
I'd say he's the best out there.. Genius.
This is artful.
"Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?" Frank Zappa Gregary Peccary.
I bet he was overjoyed meeting you ! Did he follow you back to your car phone warehouse desk & berate you for not selling as many phones as usual ?
What's extra poignant for me about this, is that I am the him of me.
Stewart lee is ......getting himself together ..
tbo if I was Stewart Lee's mouse I'd have chucked myself on a cheese grater or something.
'Like a father substitute!' ❤
I'm amazed that someone as meticulous as Stewart Lee would misquote Macbeth. The actual quote is: 'Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace FROM DAY TO DAY To the last syllable of recorded time;' etc...
'Nothing punctuated by catastrophes' a very nice example of a Stewart Lee genius throwaway line. There are many of course, but I love this one!
The irony is that if he'd gone to Fitness First a few times, he might still be with us.
Bring back Fist of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy.
Incredible work. The segue into the Shakespeare is beautifully constructed and handled, perfectly fitting. Like few others, Stewart Lee makes the point that this is performance, this is creativity, this is a work of art. And the bit about Dave Hill from Slade is decent too! :-D
Even the slow pause at the end of the soliloquy before the punchline, you can tell every millisecond is accounted for when it’s delivered
Both Dave Hill from Slade and Morrissey have let themselves go.
Erving Goffman has let himself go
Stu you are genius and comedy great. After all these years i still agree f**k out of everything you say. Thanks for all the laughs
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He would be great if he wasn’t so woke 💩
more of this!
Damn, the “I’m the him of this” line right after describing the philosophy of language of JL Austin is legitimately the most intelligent joke I’ve ever heard. 😂
yeah, I love it
Irving Goffman was funny, actually
Absolutely boring
🤥
That bloke who writes Ricky Gervais' jokes has let himself go.
The “all the different xxx” gag will never stop being funny
Probably the best delivery of an absurd statement I've ever heard.
I reckon his Fitness First ad's would work, who wouldn't join a Gym with a sense or irony?
Simon Pegg had left himself go
This album is HIGHLY underrated to say the least.
Yup, there's Ryan. I wonder if he still sleeps in bathtubs
This was needed today. ❤
I don't think that's quite the complement you think it is.
Chef's kiss on the hopefully-intentional double-entendre video description. AND WHAT A VIDEO DUDE. That was so badass!
I had no idea this was a movie. But I shouldve known it was too legit to fit in the context of modern punk!
I love when Stew can't contain the occasional smirk
Stewart Lee's knees are on their last legs & have inevitably let themselves go. Most likely due to the unbearable density of Stewart Lees being.
For some reason Stewart Lee reminds me of this random guy I saw many years ago, this short fat parking lot attendant guy who was just sat on a stool and he was wearing glasses that were too small for him and were visibly leaving an indent on his fat head. And he's the him of this.
Funky
Mark Kermode has let himself go
product placement very funny
