Nice job! Tilting the wedges is a very convenient way to eliminate the need for a precise wedge angle. That cone you pressed into the center causes the wedges to lean over until the gaps disappear. In mathematics that is known as a hyperbolic paraboloid 😎. Subscribed.

How long does it take?

Very beautiful!!! Here is what I would have done differently. When you are truing up the different surfaces I would also true up the center hole that would become the bottom. Once that dimension is known I would have turned the walnut bottom to form a tenon to fit the hole and back cut the rest of the base so that it would fit snuggly with no gaps. I could see an area where there was a gap between the bowl and the base.

Another beauty, why does sanding only go up to 400 grit, does it affect the resin if you go too fine a grade?

Amazing work! Love the satin finish on this, I see a lot of people using a high gloss spray and when finished makes the piece look like plastic where as this shows the natural beauty of the wood
