Yep I'm the same, was chasing to get monetised and ended up doing a zillion tree painting videos as they got views, now I'm monetised the pressure is off, the revenue is underwhelming and I'm doing what I fancy doing..you don't need all that B roll John, I think that's what it's called would have still watched you just talking save yourself some time, it's bloomin hard with young kids.

Yes John, you are so right as usual, Learning the basics of seo is important in the early stages but generally doing something you love doing is the way forwards, I have seen so many people try and start a niche just to try and make money and not something they are passionate about, of course they lost interest, gave up and failed. cheers again.

Hey pal, i'm having that mental battle at the moment. Sick of watching all these algorithm wizards churning out the same rubbish. Just trying to make the videos i like and hope that someone can learn something from them.

I value your advice. I went ahead and started my channel because I want to learn video making and I want to learn video editing. But I have found out the hard way that as soon as I hit the record button my brain goes blank! lol Trying to get better. Thanks for sharing.

I took my channel from 2,080 to over 200,700 in 6 months. How i did it was to focus on what I do. And to do it my way! Not to copy others!

Nice video! I loved it! But sometimes making videos simply about what you like doesn't grow your channel that much because people are not interested in what you like. It's probably different based on the niche and for some people it works and for others not. But the tips are really good and useful! I seriously love being a content creator, it's so fun! Keep up the good work! Your videos are really cool! ✌️❤️

It’s odd to me. “YouTubing” is like personal fitness. It’s so hard in the beginning because you just don’t see those “gains” I’ve had to just set aside obsessing over the analytics, and just enjoy the process itself.

2024 is almost over and I’m still not at 1k subscribers yet and hardly any of my videos I posted this year barely reach 1k views the past 7 years of posting videos have been really tough😔oh yeah also turned 35 back in November.
