The hipocricy is one of the reasons why I stopped going to church. I couldn't stand listening to the pastor talk about love and tolerance and being Christ Like while he let his kids and the other kids in the church bully and torment me because I was different. Then blame me for being different, like it was ok because I was weird.

Im a christian and i HATE how so many people have been hurt by the church and i hate the way Christians treat one another. We must uphold our beliefs, yes, but one of those beliefs is that youre no better than anyone else and that everyone deserves your love because Jesus showed you love when you didnt deserve it. I hope I can become the christian God wants me to be and not the one i make up to suit myself

Those church folks were looking at the lady as if her oldest son committed a series of heinous crimes, but to reveal that he fornicated with a woman that was older than him is a sin but it does not give them the permission to judge and persecute the family without knowing the full details. And how are they upset at the son and not the older woman he slept with? I don't know.

Kids (especially kids with autism) are very keen to point out illogical things or hypocrisies that adults overlook... in a lot of ways, kids make more sense than we do. Adults can overthink everything and make mountains from molehills. Jesus would be in complete agreement of this kind of intervention in churches more. Oh I have a funny story regarding my autism. I was kind of... compulsively honest at times as a kid but... obviously I have a filter that is maybe a bit more considerate of others now 💀 So, when I was 5 we were at church... my aunt was visiting us so she came to church with us, and at some point I pointed to the cup in my aunt's hand and innocently asked her if she brought her own red solo cup to be able to drink without other people knowing about it... and she got this abjectly embarrassed look on her face 🤣🤣🤣 My mom had to try not to die laughing because they weren't expecting me to just pop off intuitively like that... there were definitely people around us that heard me. The answer is YES she was drinking (my mom confirmed it with me later), and I figured it out at the time because I'd never seen my aunt without a beer in her hand whenever she came to visit. She WAS and still is a functioning alcoholic sadly and does not listen to reason or worries. ...To be fair even without my assessment, in hindsight she was still completely audacious bringing her own gosh dang red solo cup into church 😭💀 she did not realize you could smell the booze off her breath...

Embarrassingly, Sheldon was the person who was most holy in the church, and he is atheist. As children of God, we must stay together as brothers and sisters, no matter if they sinned or not. Because at the end of the day, we have all sinned against God, and He will forgive us, as we are His children, and He is our forgiving Father.

I identify so much with this scene and experienced something like that with me and my family when I was young. Truth is, no one is perfect and some of the most judgmental, disrespectful, hypocritical people....are the ones who claim to have the moral high ground and go to church on Sunday.

People always start their comments off with "As a Christian myself" <-- literally hypocrisy. Humble yourself, pray. Don't need to brag that you're religious, show them. That aside standing up for family doesn't always work out, I've protect my mother and my siblings from an abusive stepdad and I've landed myself in a 5150. God puts you where you need to be, not in a comment telling people you approve.

The church is supposed to be a hospital for sinners, aka EVERYONE (including the preacher). It is not a museum for "saints." - A wiser man than I.
