We had our oil fuel line replaced yesterday. Furnace started up while tech was here but died shortly after he left. We were without heat overnight. Next day, the tech came back and bled the line, restarted the furnace, and left, but it’s extremely loud at startup, which it wasn’t before. Scary loud whirring sound. Eventually, it gets quieter after a minute but is still slightly louder than it was before. Any ideas?

Why not the Hydrolevel 3250 aquastat for oil, 3200 for gas, that has status indicator lights, heated water temperature display, and low water cutoff with the electrowell ? The Honeywell Resideo you used is from the 1950’s with no indicator lights and is electromechanical rather than fully electronic.

The thermo paste must be recommended or provided by the aquastat manufacturer. Others, like Hydrolevel 3200, says not to use thermo paste.

If low water cut off not on/working, would that cause pump to not let water go upstairs?

Where you you get the idea that you can only legally fill a unit 3 times? That's not an EPA rule that I'm aware of. You have a law in your state?

That set-up will outlast the two in one capacitor. The dual run capacitor will stay cooler only having to use one half of it.

It's actually something I've known for a long time. The good part is if one capacitor fails; it won't take out of the other one. The bad part is of the Herm capacitor fails and the fan is still moving at full speed then it will take a little longer to troubleshoot. Usually on a dual run capacitor the whole thing fails at once. As far as what capacitor to keep in your van, you can't go wrong with AmRad multi tap capacitors.

I'm DIY not a pro , I just replaced my blower motor because when it tried to start it would make a low rumbling sound and then quit and then do that over and over. I have a ECM by g e n t e q from yhe x13 line. It's doable for the average person just make sure you note where the wires came from and don't break the control board.

So my A/C went out last night and I figured the chances were high that it was the capacitor that probably blew. However, your "get the fans spinning" to see if it starts up, worked perfectly this morning!! At least that confirmed it's not the fan motor and only the capacitor. If only I knew that last night before a muggy night of sleep!! Thanks for posting the video. And yes, my capacitor is domed at the top too. Off to get a replacement part.

Awesome. My low water cut off device failed and AJ Perri is charging me about $1700 to do what you just did. The part cost $150. I temporarily bypassing the dead board to feed the transformer so we have heat but will install as soon as I get the part. Very helpful

You need measurements the contactor if measurements less than 10 ohm you need to replace it. The cause the transformer blow out because the contactor short or burned out.

I have a Luxaire GM9S080B12UP11K and it came up with twining error so I turned off the power to the furnace to reset it and then it game me an error for limit switch open. I came across your video which reminded me that I should have changed my furnace filter. So I reset the furnace again and changed the filter. Then I heard you say to make sure all the registers should be open and well I have a couple closed as I have a gas fireplace in the family room so I shut those down as the fireplace heats that area. I opened them now as well so I'll see if I get the errors again. Thank you for your video. Liked and subscribed.
