I am late but I have to comment for engagement points. This series is fantastic. It is about to make me buy a deck and try playing locally.

Great video! But I would not call these theme decks. These decks are designed to be close to what is considered to meta in the game. They are leagues above the old theme decks! Those theme decks are actually garbage and would have made a more entertaining video.

As someone new to this space. I’m in love with these!

I'm a beginner TCG player coming from Pocket. The game is okay... I just don't like the idea that I can just go out and buy a winning deck that Pokémon Company put together. In fact, the way I see it, someone who bought a deck like this will sweep the floor against someone who gathered up their cards from many boosters and threw together a deck. I like the idea of casual play, using types and Pokémon you want to personally use, not following some meta. Maybe I'm just not the intended audience but I hate chasing meta and having VERY SPECIFIC win condition builds.

Thank you very much for making such a video. I'm new to pokemon TCG. I'm coming from the new mobile game pokemon TCG pocket and wanting to learn more about how the tabletop version actually plays. I play TCG pocket FTP as I don't want to invest money into a game. And this video is cool because you invest the bare minimum and upgrade your deck using your winnings. Please continue this, it'll give more insight how to upgrade your deck without buying all the cards online.

Make this a series! Would be fun to see the progress of a starter deck from just wins at tournaments

First time ive ever watched a TCG video after picking up Pocket - its definitely much more complex! 😅

Coming from Magic the Gathering and watching these matches, the shear amount of shuffling that takes place in a match is probably enough to deter me from playing the Pokémon TCG myself, but really fun to watch though ㅎㅎ

The deck building skill that you base this entire video on has become something of a joke in every card game community as 95% of people's skill is going to a website and copy pasting so you can politely go get f fucked.

I bought this deck in November to get into pokemon for the first time. Spent over a decade playing MTG and just got tired of it and don’t play anymore. Week 1 I went 1-3, week 2 I went 2-2, week 3 I went 2-2, and week 4 I went 3-1. I have added a few new cards over time like unfair stamp and lumineon and rotom but it’s mostly the core deck. It’s an awesome product!

This video somehow got recommended to me on my feed. Appreciate the video of playing TCG. I just got myself this deck recently to start learning to play TCG again, and been playing it a lot on TCG live. I love this deck and hearing your opinions on how to upgrade the deck made me think of what’s next. Will follow your channel for more of this kind of content

Honestly this is exactly the type of content I’ve wanted to see, so awesome to see things from the perspective of a pro player at a locals level, that’s where people start and where most of us are at due to work family etc. so seeing Azuls opinion on his games and the deck that anyone could go buy right now is so cool to see. I came from Magic the Gathering and I love draft and limited. I’m also a big time budget player, so I’m already wondering if there is a way I can buy a giant bulk lot of Pokemon cards (commons and uncommons) and make my own repacks to do this sort of thing with? Has anyone done that sort of thing? How many cards do you think each player should get in a sealed pool?

Would like to see Chip doing this next, can an official commentator do the same as a pro player?
