I was there that night with my best friend. I wish someone had video footage. But in those days we were lucky to have a camera. It was the start of my love affair with Simple Minds. They're playing brilliantly to this day. 🎙🎶🎸

Superb. I was at that concert. Oddly enough I've not seen them since. 1981 was boss. Saw Japan and Kraftwerk at The Royal Court in the preceding months to this gig. Thanks for the upload.

According to Bono in press interviews he has said that he was talking to JK at sound check when Forbes was practicing the intro and Bono was blown away by it !!!!

I do remember watching this in 89 and the last time I saw them after 8 concerts the Nelson Mandela 70th birthday show at Wembley in 88
