*LETRA DA MÚSICA* *My Father's Eyes* - _Eric Clapton_ Sailing down behind the sun Waiting for my prince to come Praying for the healing rain To restore my soul again Just a toerag on the run How did I get here? What have I done? When will all my hopes arise? How will I know him? When I look in my father's eyes My father's eyes When I look in my father's eyes My father's eyes Then the light begins to shine And I hear those ancient lullabies And as I watch this seedling grow Feel my heart start to overflow Where do I find the words to say? How do I teach him? What do we play? Bit by bit, I've realized That's when I need them That's when I need my father's eyes My father's eyes That's when I need my father's eyes My father's eyes Then the jagged edge appears Through the distant clouds of tears I'm like a bridge that was washed away My foundations were made of clay As my soul slides down to die How could I lose him? What did I try? Bit by bit, I've realized That he was here with me I looked into my father's eyes My father's eyes I looked into my father's eyes My father's eyes My father's eyes My father's eyes I looked into my father's eyes My father's eyes
April 2020 Yes...Hendrix is the greatest guitarist ever.. but there's just something spiritual about Clapton. (Although we still prefer his Gibson than his Fender). Even if he is not an African-American blues slinger, he has become its de facto ambassador since the 60s. When he's gone; it's gonna be tragic for the world of blues. CLAPTON IS GOD FOREVER!
In your opinion Hendrix, in mine and millions of others, irs EC! There is no way to name a #1, its subjective. As far as Fender vs Gibson, i perfer the Stratocaster anyday over a Gibson, but the ES 335 is a phenomenal blues guitar. Fender is more versatile. It can be used for rock, blues, rythem and blues, jazz and country. EC has his with a .25 mid range boost an blocked tremolo, with a 5 setting switch. The EC strat can sound like a gibson when activated, but a gibson can never sound like a Stratocaster. In EC hands, it dont matter. He can make $15 dollar Walmart guitar sound great.
This song operates on many levels and to my mind is the finest Clapton ever wrote. It's a song about the father he never knew, a song about the death of his son and a song about God the Father. In popular music, they don't get any better.
For me it's one of the most beautiful songs and performances ever. But it doesn' fit to the other (Blues) Songs on the album. So on the special edition it is only a bonus track.
Same here, brother. My grandfather would have been 113 today. That's how fathers are. They fill the need when necessary. I was 20 and just turned 52. The legacies never die.
Amen. I didn't personally know my father but my grandfather jumped in and saved my life, I have always felt. I was lucky enough to have realized this before he passed away. Unfortunately I lost him when I was only 22. Soon I'll be 24. To me, he's a legend now.
Does bring tears. Eric poured all his grief into lyrics and his music that we can only appreciate as we feel a connection. Thank you, Eric.

Mi papa que esta en el cielo
This isnt the best version but there are some great versions i heard on bootleg cds from his 1992 tour such as from Brighton Centre
Is it true Eric no longer performs this song in public, as of 2004?

Well said..
nicky the cat shut the fuck up
@nicky the cat it’s literally in the lyrics 😑. Clapton himself is religious
おれもこの間 作ってみました 見に来てくださいw
漫画の時、すっごく美味しそうで気になってた。
Eric Clapton is one great songwriter!
:54....Just what I wanted to see....A BUT in the camera....Love the song though once the BUT went away!

I think that's no the reason. Otherwise Tears In Heaven had to be skipped as well.
Thanks for share this! <3
wow ... nice

The differences between this version and the others are just breathtaking.
Pilgrim is not in the list of "Clapton's best albums", but definitely none of Clapton's albums is rubbish
I certainly don't hate the studio version, but I do prefer each of the live versions.
You are right. I like this one and I hate the 1998 studio version. This album "Pilgrim" is rubbish.
I had a big grin on me face at the beginning.
i love this real very much real live.
