i LOVE how the final episode showed Sawa! all we see is the back of her, so only deep divers will know for certain it's her. it's a nice little clue everyone is living in an artificial world, but at the same time it isn't obvious it's her. for the general audience, it just looks like some random girl kurumi is becoming friends with, showing that "the most evil spirit" is finally opening herself up to others thanks to her time with Shido.

It wouldn’t be the same episode. Tohka’s death would happen a few episodes into season 6 if it ever came to be. The final arc also gives lots of closure and new layers of depth to each spirit.

@@drchristophe207 But there's not enough budget for season 5 that's why they made the ending like that. It would be a major cliffhanger and a disappointment if they can't make a season 6 with a loose ending season 5. The CGI is already an indication that they have budget issues. It's better to lower expectations or don't expect at all than wait for we don't know how long or if it will be ever be i think that's what season 5 subliminal message is.

i hope that volume 20 will be the s6 and vol 21 + 22 being a movie

@@mayangjsoa Basically with Mio dead, all the Sephira that she's created will disappear, everyone becomes human again except for Tohka as she wasn't born human as she is a Pure Spirit like her mother and while it wasn't shown in the final episode of Season 5, Tohka grabbed Mio's Sephira and created the artificial world as it's to maximize her remaining time as that leads into Volume 20. Then the final 2 volumes which are a two parter as Volumes 21-22 serves as an epilogue for the Spirits as this takes place one year after the battle with Westcott as Shido and the others have to content with a new problem, a mysterious Spirit had appeared named Beast which if you are ok with learning who she is, feel free to let me know.

It doesn't end here 😂 besides it gets even better after this

Tohka dies at the end yes but she gets revived after a one year time skip and is reunited with Shido and the series ends with her deciding to go to the same university as shido spolier by the way

You must accept it for it is the ending ORIGINALLY. Yes Koshi intended to kill off Tohka for good because she's a pure Spirit. Mio dies, she dies. If you truly love Tohka and Shido's relationship you will push on and accept what the original ending was meant to be. Volume 20 is where Tohka and Shido's relationship grows far more that they truly love each other that Tohka is shown to have hidden feelings of wanting Shido that her love for him doesn't compare to the other Spirits, her love for Shido is stronger, far stronger. After volume 20 the fandom was really upset, sad, broken down do Koshi eventually decided to make volume 21-22 and very likely used the fandom emotions for Tohka to create volume 21-22 if you pay attention to every detail from beginning of volume 21 to the end of volume 22. Tohka was brought back from the will of the world, key word "The Will of The WORLD" Believe it or not but volume 20-22 needs to happen because its history of the fandom with Tohka, something the anime onlies needs to see because Date A Live story from beginning to end is a wonderful story, not just from Koshi but the fandom love for the characters, especially Tohka fans like myself for Tohka. Not to mention Tenka's given name should also happen. Trust me the pain I felt of Tohka's death hurt me so much as she's my Beloved Waifu, despite what my profile picture is for RUclips. I love Tohka and Tenka so very much that their death hit hard on me, I felt Shido's pain and loss of Tohka, his actions in volume 21 is exactly what I would do as other Tohka fans said they would do too and Koshi must've picked up on our so very powerful desire to bring Tohka back. "If you truly love Tohka, you will accept volume 20" - From Tohka fan who love her as much as I do. I don't write large comments like this unless I'm being truly honest for something I love. I tell you this because anime onlies should see what us the fandom have created after from volume 20.
