Yamaha!
How does it compare with a Tama Superstar and a Pearl Export ?
@nawak96 I havent played a swingstar but both of these kits are much better than the export.
The entire pearl kit sound fuller, fatter and rounder than the Yamaha.
Nice! Linnae
Love this track
Now I am going to get one red
Evan HQ 14 inch snare head 14/42 snare strainer
👍👍👍👍👍
The Yamaha’s sound better. The Pearl’s sound dryer. Yamaha snare has nice tone and overtone sustain .The kick on the Yamaha sounds better punch wise.
Lethal, smooth and effortless, dude, you have a gift. God bless
I'm not a fancy guys he says Proceeds to play the fanciest fills
great playing!
Is it a good idea to get an extent warranty from Amazon on drum sets?
@lesterjeffries682 to be totally honest, I'm not sure if Amazon offers warranties on drumsers. Usually, the manufacturer offers a 90-day warranty. That's something I would have to look in to.
@@ajwhite1077 Yes they do, when buying a drum set they offer an extended 3-year warranty
Nicely played man. That was smooth and fluid and down right tasty. You made that look effortless.
🧼 😮💨
Nice and smoothed... Did I say smooth?? Cheers
I LOVE IT ADRIAN....ITS SOOOOO SMOOTH. EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@amoorejoy Thank You So Much. That Means Alot To Me
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
yessir
I liked more pearl sound but I love more the Yamaha hardware
😎 cool
Buzz roll filler is awesome man. Be nice if I could get your practice tips on achieving that level of perfection.
Thanks for checking out my video. I don't really have a special technique. When ever i do a buzz roll, I keep my hands moving in tempo with the song
(timestamps 4 me) 11:50 pearl 9:16 yam
For me: Snare - Pearl Kick - Pearl 10" - Yamaha 12" - Pearl 16" - pearl Pearl takes the win for hardware. They are just built beefier. Lugs are thicker and heavier vs yamaha. Bass drum claws on Pearls much better quality. Spurs on pearls thicker too. Chrome on pearls are just thicker too. Yamaha hardware have cracked on me as if the metal quality is inferior.
silky smooth sir... silky smooth. You got urself a sub 🔥
@@nyashatim Thanks
what mic you using on overheads?
@jaghies4769 those are the MXL 992 Large Diaphragm Condeser Microphones
“I’m not a fancy guy,” then proceeds to tear it up. Awesome 😎
like, those fills we lovely
For recording, there are better options. But as a live mic on congas? Its great
That snare sounds amazing

I’m 2 months in to drumming at an older age lol. I just bought a 7 pc Tama SuperStar classic. And believe me- the Yammie was a close second. Is the Vision discontinued? The 2 comparative are the decade and export. Any way--- in my newness to drumming I’m thinking a double pedal would be great to just get the left foot going as I start out the gate. And as I consider that- I’m thinking ya know what… at that price I could just add an entire extra kit, but mixed. I think birch plus my maple would be excellent. Anyone want to chime in on that? The only other thought is I might as well get just a 3pc with 24” kick. That for size difference also less duplicating the toms and snare. Anyone to chime in would be great. Great video man. Rock on!
never too old, never too late
I like some ringing
That gooseneck is garbage. Sounds alright though
Great!
SESONEON The wave please
Is 'Moon SeongWook-Leap' possible? The last drum solo is difficult.
OMG I watched this video 30 times

you did that Bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mercy that was a nice groove! I found that same snare last year on sale for only $99. It has became one of my favorite snares.
Hey! First, great review and sound test. I'm also in a mood to maybe share my experience gigging with Yamaha Stage Custom and other kits, that I'm gonna compare them to. Keep in mind that the kits I recommend below are the kits I also played many times irl. Yamaha Stage Customs win in terms of hardware, universal sound and usability. The sound is pretty sharp and will sound good in smaller spaces, but incredible on stages and bigger venues. Every drum on the kit sounds exceptional, when the stock heads are replaced. With stock heads, kit sounds very average with a lot of boomyness and useless warmth. Replacing stock heads is a must with this kit! At this price point however, I think there are objectively better options, if you're looking at sound. However if you're looking for best hardware, go with Stage Customs! Pearl Decades are an amazing option when it comes to versatility and sound. They are equiped with one of the best tom mounting systems at this price point and maple shells which are quite outstanding for the price. In my opinion, great kit, amazing projection and in my opinion, they just sound way bigger and smoother than Yamaha Stage Custom. Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz. Way cheaper and way smaller (it comes without hardware). Don't let the size fool you tho! I think that this kit sounds the best. I prefer it to Stage Customs and I prefer it to Decades... Hardware is worse when comparing to Pearls or Yamahas, but it's still amazing and you can definetly count on it, it'll never leave you hanging. It's shell is 7ply Mahogany which I think it sounds great and kind of way warmer and cozyer. I like how it sounds on stages and I really like them way more in clubs and pubs. In clubs they sound like you're playing on a way more expensive kit!
hey Adrian,. Good Sounding Drumkit, is that a Ludwig EPIC series?
Yes it surely is. I love the way it sounds and looks
Thanks for doing this video! Great job working around the kits and showing what they can do. I own a Pearl Vision set with double bass drums and I use Evans EC2S clears on the toms, Evans EMAD2 clear on the kick and Evans 500 clear reso/ Power Center/ Reverse dot batter on the snare. I noticed the comment about the toms moving around, I haven't ever had mine move on me. Pearl equipment holds very tight and secure. Even when I'm beating the hell out of the skins playing speed metal type rhythms. I absolutely love playing my kit, but must say the Yamaha is the trend-setter. It has been around forever and sounds great. Hope to see you doing more videos soon. Thank you again for the great comparison video!!
Very nice stuff
This would be a much better comparison if they were also tuned the same, with the same heads and treatment However, with the current set up, I would choose the Pearl. The toms have a fuller tone and resonant sound
Yamaha: 7:48 Kick 8:04 Snare 8:20 High Tom 8:33 Mid Tom 8:47 Low Tom 9:16 Groove Pearl: 10:34 Kick 10:52 Snare 11:04 High Tom 11:17 Mid Tom 11:30 Low Tom 11:49 Groove
I just got a mapex mpx (maple / poplar)14x8. I had the same face before made some changes… 😂 S-hoops New heads Puresound 30strand wire from the stock 16 She cracks like no other with a lot of body & control.
~🦾💡👑👑🏆💫💫👑🦾
Wow! fantastic playing! And I can't believe I'm gonna say this, cuz I really like my Stage Custom's, but I think the Pearl Vision's toms just had a little something that the Yamaha's didn't. It was really noticeable on the 12 inch toms between the two. Just a touch more sustain and bite. Thanks for the great vid!
