Grew up in upstate New York.
Got a typewriter at 4.
Published at 19.
Met some crazy writers based out of Chicago who asked me to join in the fun.
Wrote a thinly veiled piece about them for the New Yorker.
My first book was reviewed favorably in the NY Times Book Review last year. If you read fiction you've probably already read it or at least heard of it.
The hardcover has my picture on the back inside cover. I was drunk.

Chicago Sprints 2011 Time-lapse
So while fulfilling volunteer duties at the regatta I made the most out of my time by doing a time lapse. I didn't have my full-on time lapse gear (notably my favorite lens and my variable ND filter) so the motion's a bit on the staccato side of things, but hey, it goes with the music. Also it was HORRIBLY hazy. In other words, this is just a down 'n dirty mess for fun - no proper color correction, a really ugly lens for one of the shots, blah blah blah. This is Sunday's events only.
I got yelled at for trying to climb on the roof of the boathouse, so that shot was gone (boo!). Also I pulled a Hitchcock and put myself in exactly 13 frames. Yes, I'm putting away my team's shoes. I'm wearing...

Full quality version: www.bluemaggottowel.com/projects/2009/07/perl_scripts/115/ The guys of the LPJ Masters team at the Chicago Sprints, 2009. No cox box, not their usual cox, and a messed up bullet cam. But hey, they won. Good job Hose - I think you're in there somewhere.

Ok, yet ANOTHER montage set to All These Things That I've Done (the entire track even - 4 minutes!). The good news? This one is really, really good, and in example of smart editing on an opening - nice job, Shepherd! Will this track ever be overplayed? Probably, but it's good enough that so far it hasn't yet overstayed its welcome. Key rules to editing? 1 - Follow the music's pace intimately, a...

Yet another take on All These Things I've Done. And look who's lip syncing the vocals... The other folks who uploaded the clip doesn't know anything about aspect ratios, anamorphism, or maintaining any semblance of quality apparently. Hate that amateur crap. Here it is in proper form (and in really nice quality if you click on the "high quality" button under the video). The tongue in cheek chor...

Black and white will always be king. Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, II. Allegretto always makes things that much cooler. This is what happens when you get David Fincher, Spike Jonze, and Tarsem Singh on one film. Are the credits a shout out to Fincher's previous flick, "Panic Room" (and of course by extension, Hitcock Saul Bass)?

サンキュー🎉❤😮
Magnífica obra de arte.
The Air Boss nailed it: “..All the Departments are vital to make a jet, flying off the carrier and putting a piece of precision ordinance onto a target as per national tasking… without one department… without Religious Ministries without the Legal Department, without Reactor Department, without Supply Department, without hot water, cold water, and steam for the catapults - none of it works.” USS NIMITZ Medical Administrative Officer, H-Division Officer, and Radiation Heath Officer 1985-1987.
Everytime i hear beethovens 7th symphony, i think of this movie, and it fits so perfect, so i have a happy memory of this song always.
I wish this film wasn't so hard to come by. It's absolutely magnificent.
This song really fits so well with the opening of the episode!
When cinema meets sound. My 2nd favorite film.
This movie is a work of art. Beautiful and creative, and the actors/actresses are so good, the story is unique and bittersweet. Catinca is great too, so natural and adorable. Tarsem is a visionary, I love how his mind works.
One of the greatest movies of all time.
The movie saved me from depression , i cried out all of my emotions in the ending
How R U now?
@@thundafundamentalist It's a long story man , I have a disability in my legs and I walk limping can't run can't do 80% of the normal things with legs So after the age of 12-13 I started feeling sad and depressed, thought will never find happiness and love , many times I was this close to end it all That's why movie hitted so hard on my emotions But in last 8 years found love got well settled and have a 6 year old most beautiful daughter in the world Life is good now , Thanks for asking bro
This is my favorite symphony ever. It is so beautiful and majestic ❤️
What piece of music is it? Because I recognized it, even if I never saw the movie, but can’t find what its called.
This movie still holds up. Was reminded of it after watching Pan's Labyrinth for the first time with a buddy - they make great sister films. It's a film you need to soak in. Deliberate, slow, beautiful. And the penultimate scene between Roy and Alexandria is deeply, deeply moving.
I've been saying this for years!! Thank you
Opening titles designed by Stefan G. Bucher
how sad
this vid is just sad haahahah
lets go brandon
Kyle Rittenhouse found NOT GUILTY of all charges
"It'll be Long, it'll Hot, and it'll be Hard." 😮
I love background music so much
I can't believe this exists, it still blows me away. What a visual master mind Tarsem is.
I was a helicopter crew chief in the marine corps. This brings back memories.
how could a director show the ending of a movie at the opening... and still get away with it... 😒
that's not the ending
One of my favorite movies.
en sevdiğim film diyebilirim fantastik
Perfection
Many years after watching the movie I can barely remember what the plot is about but whenever I hear Symphony No.7, this opening scene always comes up in my mind. A Masterpiece.
Greatest movie ever!
AMAZING
The Best movie... It is so underrated. It's the most gorgeous film ever made.
Отличный фильм. С такой добротой и тщательностью к каждой детали. Просто.. любовь.
Loved that movie on DVD, then bought the Blu-ray as well!
This movie is incredible.
Visually and Audibly; Stunning and Superb. Was once a devout Mozart fan, but this...THIS made me made a Beethoven Fan ever since. Then having researched everything on Beethoven...and to find out that he was Black! History (Or the hiding of it) is astounding.
Ok........ WOW.
is anybody else weirdly fascinated with this scene? i think i must have replayed this hundreds of times by now and i'm still not tired of it? i dont know what it is about this sequence but damn
beauty of cinema
I've watched it so many time! it's an incredible piece of art.
It kinda tells the story of what is going to happen
evet çok iyi sahne filmde çok güzel filin yüzme sahnesi de çok iyidi
Song helps but can sum one tell me. Where to find this song???
still wants to see the fall itself!
The intro on this is so good .it be cool if someone made something like this with all that's happening in the world and Trump laughing at us
神
Самый лучший фильм.
One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen
One of, if not the best title sequence ever put to film. Incredible visuals matched perfectly to the music. Introduces concepts of the film and only becomes more apparent on a second viewing. Only wish they didn't include to perspective titles, which was an unfortunate flavor for the time.
Huh? What's with all the dislikes?
He is a propagandist for Amazon, they hired him to shine all their turds
He makes asshole comments to people on RUclips because he's a bitter old douchebag with autism. So they probably go to his channel and dislike his videos.
_Because he's a know it all when in reality knows hardly anything lol._
I always wonder if tarsem will prove a one hit wonder... I need another gem movie
