I even read one review that said that there is a hidden tracking devicesign into many of the backpacks so that you can be tracked anywhere you go on the planet. I personally don’t want Peek design to know what coffeehouse I’m sitting at in New York City or Paris or London. Do you?

I still haven't decided over one or the other. I'm looking for a camera to replace my 700D/t3i rebel. I want to use it for two things: travel photos, and piano videos (to go along with my Dji Pocket 3). Do you think the RP will be enough or should I invest extra 400€ in an R8?

Around the 2:02 mark where you see a Barnack Leica and say ‘too old’; I know it didn’t fit your criteria but those cameras still hold up today. They’re fairly inexpensive in Leica Rangefinder terms, and you can still get amazing optics for them. I’ve got a III model with a Elmar f2 50mm lens and I’ve taken photos I’m really proud of on it. It has a charm to it people seem to dig, meaning candids and on the spot photos are more frequent (people can be a bit hesitant to say yes to a photo on the street when it’s a big clunky DSLR!) I’d definitely give one a go sometime.

Hi Gareth, I actually still have this exact camera from when I was a child, just rediscovered it in the to cupboard 😅 I managed to put a film and batteries, but when I press the button, eventhough it blinks red and green in the viewfinder, it does not take a picture. Maybe you could help me find out whats wrong :)

I have the exact Nikon RF2 camera! It's my first film pocket camera, bought it secondhand online for around US$12 during pandemic. Really loved it! Once the light leaked because the seal in the back was loose, now it's fine and I still used it for occasional. Sadly, the roll film became more expensive. Thank you for making the video, it was a bit hard to find somebody using this type model camera. Keep up the good work!

There are still good deals to be had on the RP in 2024. I personally do not care about video. I am mostly into landscape photography. The RP is very tempting indeed. Great video! Subscribing now!

If u only shoot fotos. get RP. If u want semi pro videos. get R8 as it has log, 10bit etc good video features. If u do both. get R8. if u wana shoot good videos and get RP, u will regret. (normal vlog videos is fine with rp). Price difference is there for a reason. No need to overthink.

The prices must have gone up in the last two years as a search eBay turns up prices closer to $1000-$2500 CAD. Looks like a fun camera though.

Visited Porthleven in May 2024. Took a shedload of shots, many of them on a Ricoh 35 FM I bought on eBay. When I sent the film off to the lab, I got an email back saying only 2 half frames of film had made it. The shots I got on my iPhone of the place did make it and so I’d recommend Porthleven as a place for photographers to visit. Meanwhile I have my own 90s Nikon P&S winging its way to me in the mail. The one in the video did a fine job.
