Welcome to the Metal Detecting UK no frills no, no faff and no waffling channel + No Adverts!
I’m Darren aka Man v Field and I love trawling the fields looking for lost items. Follow me as I travel across the UK in search of lost history.
You’ll find me out with the trusty XP Deus metal detector in all sorts of weather conditions and field types.
Whilst I’m primarily a solo detectorist I often go out with my Dad and on Club Digs.
If I’m able I will fully ID the objects I unearth and provide details in the roundup so stay tuned ‘till the end of the vids.

Man v Field: Metal Detecting UK - Another Amazing Roman Hunt
Back re-visiting a Roman hot spot we discovered last year. When we metal detected this area previously, a few coins came up and even a later denarii.
With the field now turned over it would be rude not to give it another try wouldn’t it?
I’m glad we did! Roman coins, another denarii and a Roman dice all made an appearance along with some unexpected finds!

Finds from several slower days metal detecting in the UK all combined for this video. Yup, we all have them don't we! All eager to get out there but the finds are few and far between. That said, you can still get lucky on the quietest of fields with patience. Here's some of my finds from random, slower days. Enjoy and as always, thanks for watching.

Back out detecting and this time my Dad was fit enough to join me. We visited a site which has popped up the odd bit of Roman now and then so why not give it a visit we thought! In this session metal detecting in the heart of the Midlands we unearthed more roman coins from this site and a few artefacts, of which some had great depth! How did we miss these last time?

Out metal detecting with the LMDS Club on some cracking land. In this outing we didn’t know but later found out we were detecting on the edge of a little known Roman site. We’ll defo be revisiting this site when the crops are off!

Slim pickings with fields over the summer but managed to find a field to metal detect. The usual stuff popped up but I did winkle out 3 hammered coins!

After doing some research we decided to visit a field we’d had our eyes on for some time (5 years to be exact). We suspected there would be the presence of roman but just how much we wasn’t sure. Armed with our XP metal detectors off we went and boy did we have a great time with some wonderful finds popping up. Enjoy.
