Some old memories for me in this.
It was brought by a Geelong a business man for him and his family to use for holidays but it caught on fire in the bay and was brought to indented head and sunk as a artificial reef there is another wreck In front of the of it
thanks
@@nifty1940 in 1970 we had a family holiday at saint leonards(i was about 7 years old )we walked to indented head where the wreck is at that time there was 2 paddle wheels visible and people would swim out and climb on it but they since put a ban on that
@@trevorjohnston9504 That ban rings a bell. Was it Indented head that the Edina's top cabin was used as holiday shack?
@@nifty1940 I don’t know we stayed in the saint Leonards caravan park near the pub (the park is long gone taken by erosion we stayed near where the toilet block was(if you know the area) the same week we stayed there the pier was severely damaged by a storm they had just capped the pier with cement and the storm flipped them all over when we stayed there, there was scollop fishing going on in the bay we would go down to the pier and dive for the scollop they dropped while unloading
@@nifty1940 I still visit the area regularly when I ride my motorcycle around portarlington/ indented heads/queenscliff
3:25 Note the traffic light. I did not know we had this style in Victoria.
This is fantastic be good if we still had them i loved this ty for posting 😊
Wish the trams were still here. Thankyou for the video!
Recall seeing them digging out the tram tracks on Pakington st in the 1980s.
Relaxing and soothing to frayed nerves mate. Didn't know you were a film maker. Where was this one?
Another one of your talents mate! Was this a scuttled, for a breakwater, or resultant as a accident? I don't remember this even when I spent time at the heads. And, are they your kids diving?
It was scuttled as a break I think in the20's
epic! well done
Thanks I will do a night walk around with the lighting on
Never knew Geelong has trams
Mayor Des Podbury and Cmr Bob Appleton I see but which is you Scott?
Think I was part of the guard
@@hawksam009 I'll have to look closer mate.
Scott, a great job mate. Kick-started a few old memories.
Cheers Nev
I was in the guard for this and then four of us joined the Navy together in July 1983
Fun fact im a cadet of ts barwon
It was great seeing Geelong as it was then. I spotted most of the main buildings. Others i guess were pulled down and rebuilt on. Simple life then. Sometimes better that way. Sometimes not ??
Superb footage, great music. Thank you
That was great. Grew up with the trams. Threepence (2 cents) was the fare from city to terminus. Halfpenny to hospital.
Looks like we where so close to becoming Melbourne
I am trying to find a detailed map of the Geelong system, without luck!
have a look at Geelong Tram revival page on facebook I am sure there is a map on there.
I’ve got a map of the whole geelong network
That is fantastic! Thanks for creating and sharing
I never knew they had trams in Geelong.

This is a fascinating treasure. Thank you so much.
M James Gaylard glad you liked it. I have more to add to it
Scott Meadows You should visit the Melbourne tram museum in Hawthorn.

I sold this cart 2 years ago to a mate who has 4 boys they love it as much as we did
Buy them from: Gokartsdirect.co.nz all the details are there! :)
Trust me it isnt.
It's really fast, you could beat a car on any main road. The top speed is about 50kph. But you can upgrade it with gears and different accessories to make it go up to 70-75kph. Hope this helped :D
yeah man thats me :3
Is this slow or fast, when you ride it does it feel slow or fast, I heard top speed is 35-40 MPH
