    This video helped me a lot with my confidence as an artist, I wish you the best of luck with your comic, and I'm going to use your less is more advice from now on lol. I always plan out these huge elaborate drawings with super dramatic lighting and a ton of details, but because I dont practice that often I end up getting super overwhelmed and not finishing them. I'm going to get myself drawing a lot more just in general, and take a break from super complicated or elaborate drawing plans. Thank u and great video!!

    I want to draw more using my iPad. I could not warm up yet to Procreate, I always fall back to Photoshop, but I hear Procreate is supposed to be way better, so I will try out your brushes and give it another shot.

    • @zachmotart
      @zachmotart 26 дней назад

      Yeah it took me a little while to warm up to Procreate as well, but once I got comfortable with it, it felt much better to me! A couple things that helped me get comfortable were switching my apple pencil tip to one of those precision metal tips (made it feel closer to a wacom stylus), and a couple years ago I ended up switching to an ipad with a bigger screen - that helped a lot as well! I hope you enjoy the brushes! 🙂

    Wise words and nice sketching! Sketching is such an enjoyable process, since you get to put your loose thoughts onto a physical page to develop. It's like a fossil record of images that were in your head at the time. Otherwise, visuals just poof in and out of existence in our minds. Gotta sketch em!

    fellow artist here. It's alright, take as much rest and break you need. i'm also working on a webcomic and i know the feeling of burnout and worries while doing what you love to do. I felt that before because I tend to worry or overthink too much on the plot and worldbuilding of my comic or how will the outcome will turnout, like am i gonna be happy or disappointed. which is why I don't know when to start my comic even by the opening introduction. but watching your old videos, it makes me feel alot better that you should not worry about the future and outcome of the product but more on the present, meaning the process of it. just enjoy the process and believe in yourself. But at the same time, take breaks and come back later. keep making your comic whether you get more or less readers/viewers. You did it because you enjoyed it and i will do the same for mine. Thanks and have a great day, Zach😁

    Dope sketch. Kinda satisfying watching you use your style to finish it all sped up. Keep up the great content 👍 In case no one has told you, God loves you unconditionally. You can read the New Testament to understand and learn more. I know God is real because before i almost ended things i asked God to help me if God was real. I ended up refraining from ending things and instead I fully committed to try and see if God was real and after 3 days of fasting, prayer, and reading the New Testament i was completely healed. My terrible addictions were taken away, my bad habits were gone, and my self hatred wasn't there anymore. I felt at peace for once. I hope you let God help you like how God did for me. God bless you. Have a nice day friend.

    I find drawing every day to be very important, if you are trying to be a real professional artist. Now not all of the old masters did it everyday, but they spents hours on their paintings when they did, some spending a exstream amount of time on one large painting, taking a break, then going to the next. Everyone is differant but the same thing everyone has is spending a lot of time on their art and treating it like a real job. Unless art is just your passion and not a job, then it can be treated differantly.

    The first page reminded me of a piece of advice that I once read in a book about making comics. It was somewhere along the lines of "don't make the character change direction from one panel to the next, as it could be visually confusing to some readers"; so if he's walking toward the right in the first panel, he shouldn't go to the left in the second, and then again to the right. I figured I'd share this with you. Wish I could remember the name of the book...

    • @BenArildsen
      @BenArildsen 4 месяца назад

      Hi! I'd be willing to bet the book was either Understanding Comics or Making Comics (both by Scott McCloud). Although I do think it's easier to get away with breaking the 180 rule with a comic than with a movie (where the rule started I think).

    I agree, the best thing any artist can do is to start. When making something, there's always the fear of whether it's good enough or what the people will think. It's important to remember that your first project is never your best, and mostly is not going to be that good, but atleast you tried. Now you have something to learn from, and every project from then onwards is going to be better than the last.

    These videos do inspire me to continue working on my own comic. I haven't started any panels yet and really am still working on characters and the story (its only been about a year since I had the idea and the basic premise, story and characters have changed a lot.) I think a big thing for me is getting the srtstyle done, because i do try to have a death metal black and white art style for most of my random drawings but for the comic itself the artstyle is more inspired by Mike Mignola and Gris Grimly. Its a comedic dark fantasy comic based mostly on slavic mythology. The main characters are Hans, who is a tall & lanky deformed guy who wears a helmet at all times to hide his face, and 2 mushroom people named Weed & Twig. One is more relaxed 3 feet tall and the other is a bit crazy and about 6 inches tall. Anyway sorry if i went on too long, but thanks for making these videos. I checked out your comic on the webtoon page and it looks fun! Best of luck to you and your family

    Really cool, ive read the 3 episodes of chapter one you have released of the comic, i like the classic fantasy vibes it has to it, but i do think the reason why zeemo is helping crystal should be explored more, something other than just "its the right thing to do" or something like that, also if youre ever planning on making more videos like this one, you say "um" and "uh" a lot, like nearly between every phrase, wish you the best.
