Considering DS, Wii and 7 have 32 courses in total, 8 has 48 including DLC but excluding the booster course pass I think Mario Kart 9 can have 64 including DLC. This means 32 nitro courses and 32 retro courses. Since there have been 8 previous Mario Kart games excluding spinoffs, I think there can be 4 retro courses from each game.
