We humans are rightly concerned about the pollution of our earth's air, water and soil. Understandable - after all, we are the ones who suffer! But we don't worry about the fact that our artificial lights also pollute the darkness of the night! Especially for the birds and nocturnal animals! This wonderful short film provides a strong food for thought! Very well done.

It becomes what the bearer wishes it to be, needs it to be. It is not wholly bad or good.... A much awaited documentary on the life of Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan. Gives a good portrait of the man and his music. He was a great artist ,right up among the foremost indian musicians of the 20th century .

I am curious about the relationship was between Ustadji and the next generation sitar players, particularly Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Nikhil Banerjee and Ustad Vilayat Khan - one of mutual respect, indifference, admiration or otherwise ? Not much has been written about this anywhere and this is useful to learn, not for mere gossiping but to get a sense of the historical turn of events. Sadly, not very many of Ustadji's earlier recordings are available in the public domain. If a sustained effort could be made in this direction, that would tremendously benefit the "commoner" admirers like me who have no access to the treasures trove kept within the gharana. Thanks very much for sharing this documentary.
