Alex Lanier did play well in the first set but seemed to run out of ideas. He exploited Kiran's back hand earlier but could not later on. He got frustrated and argued with the referee. Then emotions took over, body got tight and lost any chance he might have had.

Why are we indians always making noise in the match even while the match is on the verge? If im a player, i cant concentrate enough with that sound. I think there should only be a celebration of claps only after a point, after that let the match continue quietly to let the players be at their best without disturbances in the form of unwanted noise. Im ashamed because of this behaviour only we are called as lousy people. 😐 Anyhow, our players fought well and deserved the win, congrats!!🎉

Lanier is over rated by the commentators. Kiran is 3-0 after this win against lanier. clearly he is better than Alex Lanier. Alex is power hitter. he gets tired easily. with that heavy body its difficult to maintain energy

Chirag needs to focus harder, improve reflexes, and stay on the shuttle more. Take advantage of your height, not make it a handicap. Nice comeback here but these difficult wins must not cover the weaknesses.

May be I am wrong, but I have noticed on numerous occasions PV Sindhu has always had a pretty ordinary backhand for a Pro, almost feels like it's technically quite deficient. Whenever someone hits quick flat shots to the mid-court area on her backhand side, her responses have been very poor, and additionally, if she cannot cover shots on her BH side with her round-the-head shots, she invariably ends up losing the point as her BH technique from the backcourt is also terrible. Anyway, I am a Taufik Hidayat fan and used to play badminton with my Indonesian friends, so am partial to a crisp backhand technique. Another aspect of PV's game has been poor all court mobility. Yes, she has long legs and a higher centre of gravity, but over the years her court movement has not improved appreciably. Should this be blamed on her coaches ?
