Stupidity is forgivable, however if you record that stupidity it makes you kind of difficult to trust with any sort of leadership. But you know that now.

This is just such a good demonstration of primal fear & instinct; he wouldn't be in this situation at all, let alone so calm as the bear approached, if he weren't 100% certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that this cage was built to spec & will do its job. But the cage is not fear-tight. Being 6 inches from a predator, something genuinely trying to eat him, activates more powerful survival instincts that drown out our logical brains. Obviously this is a good thing, because fear & skepticism & gut instinct are what keep us alive. ACTUALLY... I just rewatched Silence of the Lambs & the first scene between Clarice Starling & Hannibal Lector made me remember this video. 😅 The transition from "there's glass between us, I'm safe" to "he's scaring me through the glass" prey instinct activation is so fascinating.
