I had this idea around the time i bought the Honda GL1100 Goldwing, why not build a big bike trailer that I can load a big bike, solo. So, I am going to share my build with you so you can see all my mistakes and not make them your self's. Hope you enjoy ... Mitsubishi L200 Head Removal
Просмотров 255Месяц назад
The L200 started overheating and exhaust gas was detected in the coolent header tank. Could be the ghead gasket, the head cracked or the block. Time to get the head off and see what has happened, and see if we can fix it. #mitsubishi #l200 #workshoplife #workshop

Nice video 👍🫡
Nice setup shame about the music
Some of those 4d56 are common for tht..I have worked on many and came across 2 tht the camm lobes worn down..and couple camm seized..oiling issue
Hi. I have a 05 and both bottom bolts on thermostat snapped off when I was trying to get it out. How did you remove bolts?
Good video, looking forward to the next one .
Nice video. I used similar connectors on my Triumph some with six wires. very tricky to seat in plastic housing. bike looks well.
Just the clear up your query over the extra led bulbs in the pack, some of this model use green filters for the indicator warning lights and some use amber, so both colours are supplied to accommodate this
Thankyou for using my clock kit, glad you are pleased with it!
I have used your kits on both my ZX12r and ZZR1100, thanks for a great product.
Hmm cb125s special only that snapped chains.
I just picked up my 03' zx12r, brand new to riding and im trying to figure out everything i can mod/ replace and fix up on my bike
personally id be installing some stainless glide pins...
Good point, will source some.
There are many times in life i find where you just HAVE to do scary stuff and get the 9 inch out as it WILL do the job
Can't hear your wispy voice with music covering it! This is a horrible fad. Either do talk or do a concert just decide
Delamination of rubber inside old brake lines can act like a one way valve causing disk drag. good video.
I did replace the original lines for a moden replacement. Thanks for the advice though.
hope you enjoy this video, always happy to learn from my friends. Please comment if you have any tips for maintaining breaks on motorcycles.
So far nice job, i too am working on a trailer i just pick up, its a 5 x 8 and its has that steel waffle mesh floor w/ a large mesh back deck that folds down in the back. It needed new tires/ rims, all new marker & tail lights plus who ever owned it prior to me dropped something heavy thru the floor a couple of times. I have my work cut out. But i looking forward to making it my vision. Good luck on yours, looking forward to see the finished project. Be safe Hello from Florida 😊
Be great to see your work, share some ideas. I am using waffal boards for the ramp, they are light and strong so are a good replacement for steel gridding. Should have another video up in a few weeks. Unfortunatly, had a few other projects take centre place.
Don't forget to check the baring of the swingers frame. Is mostle dry
I regularly grease the linkages but thanks for the comment
I have oil shooting out of my fuel injectors, white smoke out of the exhaust as a result. No oil on my spark plugs. Is this a sign of a bad valve cover gasket or bad head gasket ?
If your burnig oil and getting oil in the induction area where the injectors are, I would suggest either your head gasket has failed or your bike has a serious problem with oil bypassing the piston rings. With that said, for the oil to get into the induction, it would neeed to enter via a stuck or bent valve or enter via the bell mouths (induction trumpets). I would investigate further and do a compression test.
i put a sheet of wood under my back tyre to take the weight of the wheel, it makes removing and reinserting the spindle a lot easier, good video, i always enjoy working on my ZZR11
Nice tip, will give it a go next time
Attached to the inside of my 2000 zx12 clutch cover is a bracket with a rubber bushing of some sort does anyone know what this is called as I cant seem to find it on the part lists
I think this may be the sound dampener, part number 92161-1056. follow this link to confirm. www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/3397796/zx1200-a1h-2000-candy-persimmon-red-gb/engine-cover-s
@@OldBarnWorkshop awesome thakyou
Looking at it and really seeing it i now understand how difficult it is to do the valve shims and i would not want to do that myself.
It would be daft not to get it in the bike shop to get those shims done whilst its appart.
Incorrect tappet clearance causing one exhaust valve to open before it's twin.
I will check the clearance and let you know what I find. Thanks for the comment.
@@OldBarnWorkshop Upon inspection of a complete tear down on the top end (valves/clearance, piston rings and head gasket) passed inspection. I've removed the air box covers above the fuel injectors and discovered a pool of oil. Oil was shooting out of the engine air bypass tube. SOMEBODY FILLED THE BIKE WITH TOO MUCH OIL !!......SMH. I've drained the oil as a result and changed the oil to the correct levels. So far the bike is working fine
I have a ZX12 with 85k on the clock. My camshafts too were almost mint. Before you removed your cams I suggest you would have benefited from measuring the value clearances first. Then if needed to replace shims if out of tolerance. But you might have checked them recently before I guess. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the repair and reassembly.
Your right, I should have checked them first. Today’s job is to re-install the cams, check the clearances and see where we go from there. Be sure to check out the first part of the rebuild, it is available now. Thanks for your comment.
Excellent as it it shows how it is made where so many others show what they want then the finished product which does not help most people . Most people know what they want BUT do not know how to acheive it whwere this does.
I’m surprised you hadn’t fitted a radiator protector.
Thats a good point, I think when I rebuild I will look for one. Thanks
Lawd, that’s a sickener 😮 Just finished a Y reg gen 1, but discovered during the process (14 mths) that some dogs dangle had fitted a cheap aftermarket starter, the drive shaft was 6mm too long and was milling both itself and the back of the starter clutch, that was fun………not 🤬🤬
Will the engine survive or is the damage too great?
It will thankfully @@OldBarnWorkshop
just in process of buying one, great bike👍👍
Did you get the bike?
Looking good mate, travelling has done you the world of good. Keep up the good work.
Good video Mark, nice to see you a problem worked methodically and getting a result at the end.
Ha! Ha! Altered video! Best excuse I have heard. Ride Fast mate.
Did it fix the issue?
As we have had some hot weather and I have made the most of it, I am happy that its running better than it was. I hope the issue is resolved and things will get even better when I complete a full service over winter. Sorry for the delay but I have had a few other things going on in my life. Thank you for the interest and your question.
@@OldBarnWorkshop Thats great mate.
Interesting video mate. I converted to all LED's because of overheating issues. Sounds strange but let me explain. I live in a tropical country and it is very hot all year round. The law requires that I have the headlamp on all the time. When stuck in traffic, with the lights on and the fan running (it runs all the time here) the drain on the battery is at its maximum. The output drops slightly and the fan slows possibly 10%. That will send the engine temp soaring. Having replaced all my lights with LED's and fitted highest amp hour battery there is, the output from the battery never drops, like wise the fan does not slow down and no overheating issues. I have the same setup on all three of my bikes ( ZZR1100,ZX12R AND ZX14R). Many benefits of using LED's.
Totaly get it, I always ride with headlights on and had overheat issues with my ZX12r. Replaced the 2x headlamp tubes with LED. When I checked the old tubes, found the previous owner had fitted 100 Watt tubes. Also replaced a burned out alternator and regulator / rectifier.
Well, that was a bit of a bummer - my sympathies. Surely there exists a special tool for grabbing that stud firmly and yet being able to impact loosen it - but as you say, not impossible to drop the engine on these. 2001 is mine. Valve clearance CHECKING was easy enough - glad they didn't need adjusting yet though.
On 10:54 the wheel is out but on what does the front lean on i see a blue bucket but is this strong enough? Great video by the way
The back wheel is tied down to the bike bench, its a great way to keep the front stable and not have to use a jack or blocks .
I have been riding with headlight on since 1970 and it has saved me many times from car drivers who normally are lacking concentration
ANIMO YO TAMBIEN RECOJI UNA DEL 2005 TUVE QUE HACERLO DE TODO PARA DEJARLA AL DIA
Greetings from South Australia Mate. Hop it fixes the issue 😎
Just found your channel, looks good and I will spend some time looking at your video's. I lived in Perth for a while and loved Aus.
nice condition 12r buy the looks of it. Congrats.
Nice Video, keep em coming!
I will be doing this kind of thing soon , i start my mechanics course in september ❤ great video as always , good editing .... good to see you enjoying your bikes 🙂
You have no idea how much i miss riding that bike and just hope i get to have a go sometime .
Hey guys, what you`re watching now is one of the OG ol` skool bikers. Click a like and rock that subscribe button. I feel there is much more to come from this guy. 🤟🤪 Take it easy and enjoy the ride. Best wishes as always from the Lone Wolf in the lakes. 🕊
I wholeheartedly agree with you, so On Point dude..! And the moment you put on your helmet and take that first breath in... It really is like unplugging from the Matrix. Have you noticed how much noise the Matrix makes, when you are one with the machine and all you hear is the symphony created by the living, breathing machine you`re riding? Metallica said it the best way... "Nothing Else Matters!" Just you, the bike and the open road... Who could ask for anything more!? When I`m out and about on the Yzf, It makes feel like a fourteen year old lad that has stolen his Dad`s bike. 🤟😜
"The Camera makes it look quick" 🤪Mark, Bro`... You must have balls that Clank when you walk! I used to think you were a bit nutty, back in the day... You`ve certainly earned the rank of CrAzY now dude. Good run out. I absolutely Love your disclaimer. Literally crying here!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep up the good work, as always, all the best from the Lone Wolf in the lakes. 🕊
I enjoyed hearing the "ding ding" sound of the spanner hitting the fuel tank, sounds great on my p.c. surround speakers ;) Good video mate. Looking forward to riding with you again. Remembering the good ol, late night, Redbeck runs... (I heard some sad rumours that; they may be closing down sometime this year.)
I have done the ride of doom several times on the various geriatric bikes I have owned over the years. Ok until you have to stop! Hope it is/was not too bad a job.
The brickwork in the tunnel is fantastic. I bet that is a lost art now with modern construction. ride safely.
Hey dude, what`s your thoughts about the Nation "Speed limit"? @6:20 into your video we see a 60mph limit sign, but I wouldn`t like to maintain 60mph around the upcoming single track lane on my bike. (I tried green laning on the Yzf Once, didn`t enjoy it much, in the rain) 🤔 Can`t imagine you on a trials bike, to be honest. However, it would be good fun on an old Gt380. ;) Ahhh, the good ol` days of sweet smelling 2-stroke scent.
Another good ride out mate. Nice roads, Awesome bike and good scenery... Who could ask for anything more!?
I agree well done mark x
