Should I delete the broken Auto Ortho? It is causing big problems and crashes due to missing tiles that I can't make it load! Why does AO not fix this, I know lot's of people are having the missing folders problem.

I like the avatar mode that's different. I'd like to see a decent replay mode like X-Plane one and also the end of having to remove the community folder before each update what a pain that was.

My problem is that as soon as I use Map Enhancement my autogen and night lighting stops working

So, is there photogrammetry in this alpha built or not? Some testers say it is other say it is not. If the latter performance tests do not really make much sense, because PG is one of the biggest performance killers at least in MSFS 2020.

I got into the alpha. two things that I find stunning and I hope isnt due to the small number of people playing is the preformance. on the same computer I flew 2020 on I am able to virtually max out 2024 with no notable degradation to performance. i79700k rtx3090ti 32gig or ram it feels smoother no rand choppy frame drops. The other thing is the performance is so good while increasing the fidelity just beyond 2020. like 2020 looks good but once you get close to the ground is feels very 2d. like at all times at all alts the world feels alive 3d it dosn't feel like a bing map over lay. I still feel the actual simulation is a little mushy. being a real pilot in realirl. but I may never touch xplane12 again after this hits full release.

Instead of continuing updating and fixing bugs on MSFS 2020 version they just come up with another version. That max was supposed to release but instead they added to 2024 version what a strategy.

Does 2024 offer flyby mode?

Since you’ve mentioned Vatsim. One major potential issue I saw in the Alpha is that if you change the time of day, the historical weather is auto-tied to the hour of the day. Which means that you log in on Vatsim in the evening, but you don’t want to fly in the night, if you switch your time, your live weather changes automatically - your winds will be off, your QNH… this would bind you to real time, unless Asobo decides to make the historical weather a feature with On/Off button…

They have oversoled it. The hype isn't real. The sea level will increase slightly when all the autism boys starts crying and their tears will be running. Mark my word.

One thing i noticed on my PC is that even though I get lower FPS on the same settings, the simulator seems to flow better in 2024. I have yet to notice the random lag spikes and micro stutters I encounter in 2020. Good video!

My phone screen makes everything look great and I am not sure what I just saw, but comments suggest it was a bad paint job viewed from 30,000 ft. I don't know, I use orthoxp and turn on the scenery I want to see. No issues or fuss and it works, but then again I don't globe trot.

Great video. I would say it’s good practice to let the controller know the airframe type and you have the Atis on hand. Always double click the controller on v pilot and read the description. Also I could see the spoilers were armed for some of the. Get in the habit of checklists. They are built into the efb for your viewing. 👌

You done awesome mate, my advice is take your time. Have a pen and pad, write down the instructions in short hand. Repeat, repeat, repeat flights. With experience and exposure the nerves will calm. You done great 👍 if you need someone to fly along and mentor drop me a message 👍

Very nice job, don't be too hard on yourself - that was far from an absolute disaster. A lovely landing to bring it in and all! I've seen loads of people mistake Q for R in Gatwick, you're definitely not the first. A few small pointers: Track miles are usually given as a reference to the airport. If he wanted you to descend at a certain rate, you'd be told "level by XYZ". If you're unsure of something, ask for clarification, and never read something back if you don't know what it means! A few seconds of clarification is better than a few minutes of resequencing. Let the autobrakes do the work in the rollout, you don't want to burst your tyres! I tend to let them bring me down to 60kts. Last one: make sure you're fully across the stop bars when coming off the runway, if your tail is hanging out you technically aren't "clear" and they aren't allowed to land someone behind. You did very well there, a mistake is an opportunity for learning no matter how big or small so take what you're not happy with from this flight and use them to make the next one better

With the frame gen when this happens go to MSFS settings,disconnect frame gen save/apply then reconnect frame gen save/apply. ;)

I can assure you, that that was far from a desaster. You were able to program the MCDU correctly, regarding the approach, intercepting the ILS and flying the plane. So i´ve seen a lot of pilots being unable to do just that, so dont be to hard on yourself. And the decend instruction was not "for 5 trackmiles decend to altitude 3500Feet...." he said "45 Track Miles, decend...." he just told you that on the route ATC has planned to give you there will be 40 Miles of distance to touchdown. This will allow you to judge your decent profile, with a quick calculation in you head: altitude to loose *3 /1000 + margin for wind and speed reduction. So in your case, you´d have to decend from 8000 Feet (actually FL80, but basically the same for that calculation) to basically 100 feet at touchdown, making the calculation: 7900*3/1000=23,7. So with a "standard" 3° decend and no speed reduction, you´d be able to decend these 7900Ft just shy of 24 NM. Let´s add like 15-20% on top to cover for the speed reduction, which would put us somewhere around 30 NM. So you´d be totally fine. If he gave you that instruction at FL150 for example, that would put you on 44,7NM, without taking into account the additional distance for decelerating. Of course you don´t have to do that calculation in your head every time you decend, because the Airbus does it for you. If you look at your instruments at the moment he told you about the 45 trackmiles, (10:20), you can see that you are below the calculated optimum decend profile (the green dot next to your altimeter), and the decend marker (the white downward arrow on the ND is approximately 12 NM ahead. 45 - 12 = 33 NM, so our 30NM might be a bit to optimistic, but also ATC gave you a heading after KEGUN instead of the route in the Flightplan, so you actually covered a little bit more ground than the Aircraft anticipated, which in turn would have placed the marker further downstream. Also you were established on your final approach speed rather early in your approach, meaning you could´ve traded that deceleration for a faster decend early on and slowed down further on the ILS.

Quick question looking at your video from about 3 years ago, I saw that you fixed your ground textures via the Group Policy and All Settings file. However I am on Windows 10 Home Edition and do not have that All Settings file. I am experiencing the same issue you had. Any help would be wonderful!

Great video mate. I’ve had plenty of people, when I have been on as Approach,that have been the network years and still can’t get a clearance right.
