fished the urunga wall for a few hours for 1 fish! haha was a nice day tho did hook a solid fish and sadly lost it.. i called it for a schoolie but after the battle i realized it was a big flatty that rubbed me off on 10lb leader good fun!

First fish for 2023! What an epic start! Today was a ripper! With a late start heading down south at 8am and getting my kayak in the water by 930 and baits out by 1030.. sounder was blowing up with a few solid schools of lil blacks, 30 mins goes by and boom each boat started hooking marlin one by one My first bait got smoked, so quickly got another bait out and once I casted and paddled 20m my ...

so after surgery on my hand iv had a huge break from kayaking and fishing.. just started getting back into it and just brought a gopro chest harness and thought to start filming! here's 2 days of fishing for jew.. only small but it's what I loveee! hope yous enjoy and more to come yeeww

Just a quick edit from my recent kayak off the Coffs coast, couldn't find live baits so lucky I carry out plastics. caught 4 the bigger one going 80cm using a 5" plastic and light jig head. First time using my new rod, the ATOMIC arrowz offshore 7foot matched with my slammer 4000, spooled with 20lb braid. Very nice for the kayak with epic tip action, a sturdy backbone and a low profile handle g...

Did you crank the drag and it busted off? I'd rather risk getting spooled that it busting off but then again you prob had very chance of gaining line on it
Yess I did... and I noticed a big nick in my line before hand but didn't bother to cut it off and start again So this dose happen wen hooking a big fish 🐟

Im not impressed I don't fish salt water with line under 20lbs far less 6lbs . I mean there are Jacks everywhere in the tropics. I won't take that chance with my lures.

Where the water runs out from the lagoon into the main river, I've seen some guys getting good jacks there.

Thanks mate, no wire Using 40lb braid and 60lb leader These fish range from 20kg to over 100kg so ya never know what your about to hook haha

Thanks mate! Despatch? I'm assuming you mean killing? No I let them relax in my yak, cold dark place.. better quality meat I find with no rigor mortis

With jew fishing.. there's alot to line up.. water colour swell tide and time they feed... more swell the better just got to be very careful on the stones with swell.. can be ultra dangerous

What gear do you use
With this fish, was using fin nor overhead spooled with 30lb braid and 40lb leader. 10-15 kg ugly stick
