I really believe that the Dead Space creators didn't mean to mock Scientology, but Scientology is just that fucking ridiculous that everybody pointed the similarities out and assumed it was intentional. Nah, Scientology is just a real horror religion.

I think it was a great remake, with a dose of creative freedom, but with some problems, some small however compared to the positive balance, like the lack of characterization of Haamond, Kendra and Kyne compared to the original. But the biggest mistakes for me were the necromorphs being less threatening along with no longer having a difficulty level before impossible. In the original if you take your time the slashers just run like an athlete on steroids and jump on you, in the remake they walk and then walk faster, it doesn't have the same impact. And the game needed one more level of difficulty, the impossible mode only has the same settings as the difficult one, that is, the first time someone goes to play, they will already experience the maximum difficulty, which is not a big deal, in the original the Impossible difficulty further increased damage from necromorphs, without health and armor upgrades, Isac dies in 2 attacks. The player is under pressure as he doesn't have much room to miss, and even with full armor and health, the black necromorphs still take at least two bars of HP or more. The remake's impossible mode makes you restart the game when you die, but I think most people won't want that kind of difficulty. This could be the hardcore mode, and rather the impossible that increases the damage of the necromorphs even more like in the original, if they don't want to bring the mechanic of finding less ammo like in fanatic mode of DS2. After finishing the game on hard difficulty you'll start the game over strong, and hard will just be a fart, so one more difficulty level would be refreshing to replay.

The only thing I don't like about the flamethrower is that it seems to be more useful for the smaller weaker enemies but the bigger tougher ones it doesn't do much damage which is a shame

The game hasn’t received many patches other than the ones almost a month ago that patched out VRS and gave players the ability to use older rigs as cosmetics. I have seen a lot of other players complain that the necromorph ai isn’t as aggressive or scary as the older games; yet, I’ve begun to notice over the past couple of weeks more and more enemies start being more aggressive in moving quicker after spawning while flailing wildly and sometimes leaping at me (besides the actual leapers themselves). It’s strange since I usually play on normal with a fresh save and, again, the latest patch was a while ago. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this as well (hopefully).

Seeing a lot of people who never realized that they grew up and got competent at video games and more rational. The game is far better than the original in almost every way, but it won’t recapture how you felt. You’ve already played this, I replayed the originals probably 4 or 5 times each back in high school.

RE2R was better imo. I immediately replayed it multiple times after beating it. While this was good, it started becoming a slog to get through towards the end, and I haven't had any desire to replay it.

I remember Dead Space 1 and 2 being an absolutely terrifying experience and this remake has sent some chills down my spine a couple of times as well; although, I do agree on the fact that enemies just don't seem to pose that much of a threat anymore. Regardless, great job as always, Xan! Excited to see more of your projects! <3

Ngl, this is the first dead space gameplay I've seen that didn't look terrible. It's the only game I get mad about sloppy gameplay bc it's so easy to be good at

You missed Isaac in Army of Two. Even though I dislike the third game(The Devil's Cartel), Isaac and Carter's helmets are available as masks in the game, which sort of improved my experience.

There is actually, a huge difference between red and black markers. Black markers do not exhibit the dementia and tissue/dna recombination that red markers do. Its speculated black markers evolve life to the point of finding and replicating markers -> red ones -> to then start convergence.

There is also a Brown Maker. It's the one Tidman builds with Issac's blueprints in dead space 2

In tier 9 you missed Army of Two The Devils Cartel. You can get masks from Dead Space 3 for Alpha and Bravo though I forget how.

altman gets enclosed with a brute by the government and when he asks for a weapon he is then given nothing but a spoon, and when he dies gets turned into a martyr of sorts so the church can be created for population control, I remember that perfectly, its in the book Dead Space Martyr

Actually the red marker is not as powerful as the black marker the red one takes time for the effects to take place the black one is instant transformation

They did lean into the scientologie thing after the first game, the Unitology temple in Dead Space 2 is very similar to scientologie, with all the test and initiations levels.

Even if the games had performed poorly as far as sales .. they definitely should’ve let John Carpenter make a film about it.. because I feel like at the very least there’s so much to the lore and mythos of the DS universe that it would definitely succeed as a film .. especially if it was made by Mr Carpenter.. fingers crossed 🤞
