Initially i just wanted to use that as a discussion point for people who like CRPGs and let them decide in the comments, but now after the video got some traction, it does feel quite clickbaity :/

I'm with you on that, it is definitely a solid game so far and the story escalates at a nice pace but as you said, on a technical level acts 4-5 are really buggy. The two broken companion quests i mentioned happen in in act 4, so its a damn shame. But at least the devs are trying to help, but its so weird that a lot of games nowadays are broken at launch. Yeah the ost is amazing, i listen to the main theme at work sometimes, kinda psychs me up lol. Thanks for the comment man and have a good one!

Definitely true, as i mentioned in other comments, measurement of skill and improvement of your knowledge/ability to play comes from other sources as well. Matchmaking/ranked/elo systems are a convenient way to match you against opponents that are on a similar level and of course there are people who stomp you based on legacy skill, sets play, locals without ever have set foot into any ranked matches. Ranked can be a motivation, but is not a magical way to turn you into a pro. That comes from hard work, research, discussions with others and learning. So i'm with you on basing that perception on the later points than on a number.

That is a good shout actually. I mentioned it in another comment, there are different ways to approach, learn and have fun at the same time. For me it was getting in touch with better players and learn from and with them. Like i mentioned in the video, master rank for me is a convenient way to find matches on the level, but the real work happens in other scenarios.

@@dailsttv I also had that idea in past, back in SFV. Nevertheless, based on my experience, the good players I got in touch with were not generally excited to share many things, if any. I personally think, no matter what, the real work is independent of anyone else but oneself. Lucky for us we have plenty of resources now in this game. Peace.

@@JoseL83 Yeah i can see where you are coming from, i sometimes made those experiences as well. Late in Street Fighter V i joined the character discord for Honda (as far as i know there also discords for the new SF6 characters) and people were often quite happy to share their thoughts and review things. Then again discord is not everyones drift, so its hard to reach out from time to time. Some of the streamers i met on my journey were also happy to help, but i guess that is also hit or miss. But you are definitely right. Have a good one mate and take care!

I feel you man, i started to get "serious" with SFV and my first steps were so rough that it took me the longest time to get my foot down. Same as you, i played fighting games in my childhood/teens but it still feels like learning a whole new genre. And yeah you are right, there are some weird stigmas behind ranked and some people put way too much focus on that. There are different ways to get good at the game and imo it comes down to find a way for yourself to learn and have fun at the same time. For me that was to get in touch with better players and learn with them. And yeah, i have friends who can't be bothered with ranked or are still in gold/plat, that whoop my butt on the regular. But yeah, see where the journey takes you but don't burn yourself out if it starts to become a chore that you don't enjoy. Rock on buddy, you got this!

A legit plat player is why under the skill of what a legit master is. You say it took you hours to go from silver to some other low level. Thats fine. I just question your judgement on how good a plat player is, vs a master. There are people who smurf, that is, people who have a higher skill but love to play lower skill players disguised as the same low rank. I sort of was one of them. I Started the game as gold, but I was beating golds, plat and diamonds. I was to lazy to play rank and didnt considet myself higher rank, i truly though i was gold. I realised i was smurfing. I played ranked, i have pics of 20+ win streaks. Got to Diamond 4. You can say i was a "gold that beat diamonds and fought toe to toe with masters", thats a lie. I was a diamond all the time, disguised a gold. Again, no legit Plat player can even slightly bother a legit master. Unless such player is too scared to rank and face his real skill and face people of his own level.

As everyone likes to see, thats where the true Street Fighter begins!

I feel you man, the placement system has some weird angles to it. Friend of mine knows one Rashid combo and got placed in diamond without knowing anything, his main is ranked lower. But i'm sure you will rock it soon, let me know if i can help you!

I had the exact same thing happen to me and after the placement matches went on to lose every match until I dropped to plat 1 from plat 4. But I did end up sticking with that character and am at plat 5 as of a week ago

Thats a good way to learn, even if it feels like a blowback, you take a lot of knowledge & experience with you. Glad you stuck to it, which character are you playing mate?
