why does this seem less functional than retopoflow 3?
it's in early stages not finished yet.
@@xox8717 thank you, i was so confused
Oh the mirroring doesn't work in the alpha version yet 😮
Since this video doesn't show it~but for some reason the mirror function doesn't work~is that normal?
Are there any more news about this?
Seems like a dead project
@@engimo5253 i asked on twitter and they said is under development but will take longer than expected
Jesus fucking christ, no one wants to do this stuff by hand anymore. Why learn it and waste precious time. In half a year there will be AI that will do it for you.
how long til this is coming out, i need it lol
Can you apply costs to parts?
Last time I was this only, I removed RF2, and just used polybuild tool
Incredibly exciting! I have the alpha version of Retopo Flow 4 and the polypen alone is mind-blowing. The speed that I can retopo is insane. I can't wait for the full version!
i want to cry too, finally, legend. i hate having to use maya just for retopology.
When is the final versio coming out? This looks so much better, specially when it has all the other tools
Thank you, this addon was already a game-changer for me. But so happy to see it being updated
Idk if im doing something wrong but does this work with 4.2 blender?
这是一个正确的进化方向 ,早就应该这样
Release date?
Will be a free upgrade for the existing users?
This all looks really good! Will the version 4 update be included in the addon that can be purchased on blender market? I hesitate to invest "so much" in a plugging without knowing if it will evolve with blender over time
Nice update, can we have that automatic snaping and merge optional in the addon pref section, to have a full control

i need to buy again retopoflow ?
Hi, First, congratulations on this big update. However, I noticed in the comments that you plan to offer a discount for Retopoflow 3 owners. I find this somewhat dishonest. Retopoflow 3 did not live up to its promises; it is slow, even with lightweight characters, selection works as intended only about 40% of the time, crashes occur frequently, and the patch tool seldom works. Retopoflow was introduced as a game-changer for Blender, but in the end, it wasn't efficient enough. I eventually had to remove it and revert to the old methods of doing retopology with free add-ons. I was hoping you would release a significant patch to make it truly part of a pipeline, but instead, you are releasing another plugin and expecting people who already bought a buggy, or at least a non-production-ready plugin, to pay again. This is why I think it’s dishonest: you shouldn’t charge your customers for a major update that is necessary for properly using what they have already paid for.
I filled a form for beta test but i didnt received any feedback?
you know if run on linux? Thanks
I wrote most of it on my Linux workstation, so yes. 😊
@@orangeturbine thanks
One of the best addons out there. Unfortunately, it does not work with Blender 4.0 or higher. Errors after installing no matter what I try. Hopefully this gets addressed asap.
good addon, but I think It would be more convenient if the pick shortest path can work as usual
Any estimate on how long it will take for a full release
retopoflow's relax is essentially one of the best feature already created, please bring that to this version
Retopoflow enjoyer here since v2. One big feature that I would love to see is a way to relax selected vertex with a click of a button instead of using relax brush (the current relax brush only relax the area in touch and the logic of relax is limited to the brush size area). Possibly a relax function that try to quadrify the faces without shrinking pointy edges. At the moment I move the vertex on certain area to retain the shape, pin those vertex and relax all the other vertex around them with the relax brush, but this workflow is tedious and also not precise because of the limitation on the relax brush. This is all I want from the next retopoflow really... (a similar feature already exist in 3DCoat but switching program just to relax a mesh is silly)
Will the update for the predecessor be free if you have purchased it?
es como cualquier retopo que aburrido
when will retopo be a brush like dyno in sculpt? Just paint a mesh at whatever res you want.
I stopped using RF for the performance issues, now that its part of the native viewport, I hope it overcomes that problem
retopoflow 3 was so tanky and silly compare to this version, progressing in the right direction.
Even with just the poly pen working, it's so much more functional than trying to do retopology with just the Blender tools. Excited for contours, relax and tweak to be added back in.
wow I only used the 4.0 alpha but even just the polypen tool is so freaking amazing.
alpha doesn't work for me and causes error dialogues to pop up whenever i add retopoflow to object. both active and cursor. after adding either one it sends me to edit mode and all of the various settings seem assigned however if i click anywhere i get more error dialogues. a few times it allowed me to add a few points but i could not see them. they were offset from the object and just appeared as verts. there was no visible UI overlay. (Blender 4.1/Win11)
How much is this?
OHHHH THAT SHARK IS SO MEMORABLE TO ME MY FIRST SCULPT
Is the version u gived away for free going to be updated too?
This is looking amazing! I guess the performance issues will disappear... congrats to the team!
New mesh floats inches away from the base mesh... why?
I want to cry! Finally RF is getting into Blender viewport. This is amazing!!! Thanks guys!
Thiiiis is incredible thank you for making this into a more seamless workflow
the next free giveaway is population crowd simulator
looks cool but be honest, quad remesher is better and faster...
quad remesher is not great for organic models that need to be animted later on.
@@onMrVycka Very easy to add own loops with quad remesher topology.
@@onMrVyckaBut thats what it's made for I think you meant Quad remember is not a manual retopology tool so you can't compare it to Retopoflow
@@onMrVycka bro, thats litteraly its main funktion, its not good for hard surface remeshing cause it creates a lot of not needed faces but on organic shapes between 2000-10000 faces its excellent...
@@bUildYT he said it's not good for animation which is correct
Looking very similar to Polyquilt, that is great :D
and polyquit copied Maya's quad draw.
I love retopoflow is the Best addom for retopology
Great work! Any estimation on when it'll replace retopoflow 3?
