If you want to make some as gifts to give to your stitchy friends or just someone that might want a cute little flowerpot. Thanks for joining me.

I LOVE this purple rice bag!!!
@@joystone6460 thanks! They were so fun to make!
People making these in 2024 are calling them "hossif" which means "housewife" in another language.

I would love to get a heart pattern that I can make some as well. These would make a great little gift for someone as a unique gift tag.
@@janetwelcome7403 thank you.
So bright and cheerful Martha. Glad you put the lace on the birdhouse. Cheers, Christine
Thanks so much!
Gouache is acrylic. The colors are brighter. I can tell the difference when i use gouache vs acrylics. I do use watercolor pencils, and have 4 different types of watercolors. Some are good but others are great and again it comes to brightness or deep colors you get. As far as how the colors spread on paper it depends if you are trying to paint on dry paper or wet on wet. In my opinion i dont think size/shape brush makes a difference but what you do with water and what effect you want to create. I am not professional or have i taken art classes. Just following people on you tube and experimenting. But also practice, practice. Im having problems painting fabric so i can embroider parts if it such as leaves or flowers.
@@elainebramson7042 thanks for the explanations. What brand are your favorite watercolor pencils? Fabric is a while different animal from paper. Try acrylics mixed with a product to make the paint thinner and meant to use on fabric. Golden is the brand I use. I am practicing every day, both sketching and watercolor painting. I still prefer the watercolor pencils over watercolors. I watch YT, Instagram and TikTok videos.

@marthamanigross I only have one set, Derwent and I love on paper but also on fabrics. I have not tried acrylics on fabric. Will try. Hello from north Georgia.
@@marthamanigross maybe I'll try gouache acrylics for brighter deeper colors.
@@elainebramson7042 there are also other products that are used for fabrics. I’ll look tomorrow or Saturday as I have a busy day helping a friend tomorrow. I know I have fabric markers, and I found something else that I’d forgotten I have. I’ll let you know what they are when I can.

Had to pop back to leave another comment, after you mentioned the surge protectors I was able to reach back into my memory and recalled something about them needing replacements especially after losing power, which happens here often. Later today I am off to pick up a few new surge protectors, we have lost power every third day since mid July and twice last week lost power when I was texted the repairs were complete in my area, I had power up until they restored it. I am working on the k3n.clothtales SAL and the Roxy's girls vol. 6, and currently stitching one of my own pieces for autumn.
@@deblee1958 wow! That’s a lot of power outages. It’s funny how we don’t think about things like replacing something like a surge protector, but id rather be safe than sorry. You have some good projects going there! Take care and thanks for watching and commenting!
I went back and rewatched this cute shot glass pincushion, the first running of the video we lost power for a few hours (common here in the rain storms) so I didn't get to see the end or have a chance to leave a comment. I've made pincushions in teacups so I will give the shot glass a try.
@@deblee1958 thanks Deb. It’s a fun easy project and I really love them. They don’t take up much room on my desk either which I love.
Just to let you know I enjoy your videos, watching what you make and listening to you chat. Your Summer piece is looking great, I found myself admiring your beehive as you stitched the butterfly. I would love to see you make the lining for your crossbody bag and enjoyed watching you make the Maine tidepool piece as well.
@@deblee1958 thanks so much Deb. I appreciate that!
I love to watch you and hear your stories about your life and see your progress on your projects -- all of them!! Just was on holidays, then a surgery, and now my Dad is in the hospital. Lots of life issues and having a hard time keeping caught up. Yes please to seeing the lining get done - as so many ways to do them and still trying to figure out a way to do mine ….❤
@@bettydohms2002 thanks Betty. I’m sorry about your dad. Sending good thoughts. Life issues seem to be cropping up for lots of people right now. I’ll do my best in doing the lining on camera!
Looks lovely. Good news on the umbrella stand.

I would really enjoy watching you do the inner lining of your pouch. And you're very welcome Martha. Very welcome Martha. Lol, hugs, Debbie ❤
@@artistgrly funny girl 🤣. Thanks Debbie. I appreciate it. 😊
Another nice video. I pulled out my tri-fold pouch to wok on. I've pinned on some lace trim and reorganized my threads in color order, instead of number order. I just need something todo to take my mind off my hubbies new health issues. Times are going to be pretty stressful for a while, so I'm going to need an outlet to help manage my feelings.
@@paulajohnstonbaugh1873 oh Paula, I’m really sorry about health issues popping up for your husband. Crafting helps so much. Thanks for watching. Sending good thoughts for your husband and you. Take care. 🤗❤️
Fun little project Martha - folks could use the little single use jam jars you sometimes get eg at hotels. The Bonne Maman ones are faceted and fluted. I made a mini birthday cake pin cushion for Alex’s mum with pins as the candles, last year. Cheers, Christine
@@createandcraftwithchristine thanks Christine. It was fun and I am enjoying using them. Tony thought it was a cupcake at first. 😁

@@Doglover1709 thanks! I appreciate your kind words.

Too bad you feel that we that we should hear all your complaining. You could have said sonething to her. I am so surprised that I hung in through all off the problems that you had. You asked so I am saying that perhaps group functions are not for you. I have lots of health issues to...among them are the needing to eat on time. I have found myself in this situation before and have just gone ahead and eaten. No Bitching! You also could have simply moved your cloth to the line and sat inn the shade. We are adults....sorry but I needed to say something. I am sure others wanted to. Your work is nice but people can only listen to so much before they turn that stuff off.

@@paulajohnstonbaugh1873 I hope you had a great vacation. Happy anniversary! Thanks for watching.
Hi Martha. I’m sorry to hear about all the thumb drama you’re going through. It’s hard to find a good Dr. these days. I think a lot of the problem is that they are just overwhelmed with patients.
