But in the book it was the mouth of Sauron. Sauron never Left Barud dur. However Aragorn did see glimpses of Sarons spirit. After the ring was destroyed.

They did a good job of depicting Sauron's "Mairon" form. He's actually scarier that way because he looks like an entity that could make you burst into flames just by staring at you.

Sauron's Mairon form is scarier than his "do0m knight" form. As Mairon, he looks like a fallen angel that could burn you to Deth just by staring at you.

Look at Gandalf charging past young strong and agile soldiers. A nice little detail goes to distinguish between a wizard of his stature and an army, where as without this tiny attention to detail things wouldn’t have mattered much. But still the effort, to chase perfection. LOTR did it long before MCU or DCEU were even conceived.

I know that this deleted scene dosent appear in the books but I would’ve loved to see this scene in the movies

This is the final touch that needs the return of the king to be the most perfect movie ever made. The fight between auron and corporeal sauron was needed...i dont know why peter jackson decide not to use this footage. I hope that in a special edition, as like the snyder cut for JL, we can saw this fight like the final cut.

Yeah seeing Sauron there is too much, too cheese, and they did it at the same time is pandering, what else happened at exactly that same time Bilbo finished the fucking book he was reading. The concept of fear of the unknown being greater than anything they can portray comes to mind, us imagining oh no I hope Sauron doesn't come back is much more than oh look Sauron's back, and Aragorn fights him like everyone else, he's not even as bad as the balrog tbh.......

I’m glad this was cut because Sauron couldn’t become a physical form unless he had the ring which he didn’t so it wouldn’t have made sense

I'm not that well versed in the mythology of LOTR but was Sauron able to make an avatar of himself that was capable of combat?

I actually think that this would've been better IF Sauron had shown up if he'd used the last of his power to face Aragorn and that Aragorn defeated him an forced him back to his tower just in time for his tower to collapse .....even more if Aragorn defeated him the same way as Ilsildur

The similarity between the Isildur scene in Mount Doom and Aragorn was very well thought out and filmed.

This elevates Aragorn to the Halls of the Badass. The man is standing at the veritable gates of Hell on Earth, and Sauron, Lord of Darkness, Numero 2 on the most evil bastards in Creation shows up in PHYSICAL FORM, not having down that since times of Elendil himself, and begins to tempt Aragorn to stop fighting. To surrender. To join him. And the answer of this absolute beast of a man, of a king? Turn around at his beguiled and shocked companions and say "For our homie." And charge an army oforcs lead by Lucifer 2.0 himself. Because fuck you Sauron, we have the power of friendship and the Valar on our side.
