      We use the Tool Management screen to control all out tools. All tool calls looke like this : "T1299" or "T5599" 55 refers to the offset and the offset is assigned to a turret station on the tool management screen. I would have thought you should be able to operate with assigning different offset numbers to the tool numbers, T0125 etc.

      Yes yes yes, depending on the material and it might be a high alloy steel, if you climb milling (which they’re doing a helical interpolation all the heat will go into the chip. And depending on the material you can have a straw color from Stainless, to blue or Purple from Tool and Die Steel to just a shiny chrome color. I was a tooling engineer for 35 years.

    just started on the nlx with celos and mitsubishi . I'm having a really difficult time setting up the tool library in the machine . Thus i fill out the tool info page every time for every operation . Normally it should be a one click , and maybe feed and speed change . I could not find any significant help .

    • @PBMachineTechLtd
      @PBMachineTechLtd Год назад

      Its pretty time consuming but you need to create your full tool library for the tool managment. Once its complete you can call any tool up then by searching its offset number

    • @kisspeteristvan
      @kisspeteristvan Год назад

      @@PBMachineTechLtd in the meantime i found that out and learned it , but to load the turret with tools is another story , and the machine doesnt even care . The tool data in the vps program has to be good , but the turret informations are totally irrelevant , just the X Z tool lenght offset.

    Just curious....why do you drill a small hole and then mill it larger, rather than using a large drill almost as big as the finished hole diameter?

    • @PaddySheeper
      @PaddySheeper Год назад

      Cutting forces are much higher with a larger drill. You will have high radial forces, which can relate to a problem. Also, its not that easy to clamp a big drill like that. Aside from that, you have to consider that the spindle for live tooling, maybe is not strong enough to power a big drill like that.

    cool vid, i'll trade you a tip for a tip. how do you save and execute your mdi programs that i saw you using? your tip - you can rapid jog with the probe arm down if you simultaneously hit rapid and the direction. document how many teeth the sub jaws are outset if you haven't already, jaw teeth repeat jobs are a big time sink if no one says what they were at last run.
