Creating A 8.8" Keyboard Touch Control Surface Display for Obsidian Onyx Light Control
Created a 8.8" Touch surface display attached to a keyboard for inputting information and adjusting paremeters in Obsidian Onyx ONPC.
This is useful for displaying timecode clock, adjusting paremeters, creating custom buttons with Onyx Manager and viewing different windows on the fly.

    Great tutorial. Thank you for this. I’ve seen this light in my newsfeed many times. And I’m always looking to change things up, lighting-wise. Quick question, will this work with the Wolfmix controller?

    • @TheatricallyJerry
      @TheatricallyJerry 2 дня назад

      Of course it will, the wolfmix has four Universes of DMX just patch it to one of those universes. This Light uses a 3-pin DMX cable.

    • @TheatricallyJerry
      @TheatricallyJerry 2 дня назад

      You'll probably have to manually make a profile for it in Wolfmix since this a newer light, I imagine they don't have a profile for it yet. This lights user manual has the table of dmx channels and values.

Yes they are cheap and are sold as cheap that's what I like about it. It's not trying to be a $300+ machine. Great for Halloween displays outside or anywhere that you don't care if it gets ruined. This particular fogger actually puts out more volume of Fog than my ADJ VF1300 So it's actually pretty impressive for it's price point. Nothing on my channel is labeled as expensive or high quality (except the V-Show S series movers) if you buy it cheap expect it to look and feel cheap. Side note: I have already replaced the rocker switch on this particular fog machine as it burned out. The Rocker switch has a fuse built into it as well as the power supply IEC power connector.

      @SellarsArem 12 дней назад

      @@TheatricallyJerry today i tested the lamp myself, but ît has a noticeable PWM flickering. If you turn RGBW full on, you can measure a flickering with a camera at a shutterspeed of 1/320 and above. Also the Powerconsumption of the fixture at RGBW Full On is around 136 Watts, so its nowhere near the advertised 250W, nor the 19x15w LEDs. More like 7,5W per LED at RGBW Full on. So each channel only gets around 1,7Watts. i also noticed a flicker of the fixture now and then in manual mode. • @TheatricallyJerry
      @TheatricallyJerry Месяц назад

      It looks dim because of my setting on my camera. It's plenty bright for a small to medium venue. You have to consider it's source lamp which is a 100w LED. You can't really compare it to a 19x15w because that's 285W Of combined total power. Also wash's do not concentrate the led light, when you concentrate into a beam it's much brighter than a wash. It's 41,500 lux at 16' at its narrowest beam and 115,000 lux at 9'.As a light designer we go by distance needed and light output at that distance so it would really depend on your needs.

      @TheatricallyJerry 2 месяца назад

      @@JuanZuniga-h2b You can try www.uking-online.com/?wpam_id=23 To control four of these you will need a light controller or light board. You could also use a PC based app to control them through usb to dmx out. I like Blizzard's Soc-It for controlling over my phone or tablet. You also don't necessarily need a controller these run on their own through Auto Mode and you'd have one set as master and the rest to slave and daisy chain their DMX cables and Powercons. You can also set the to sound mode as well if you don't have a controller.

Para crear un programa, utiliza sus reproducciones y las programa en un programa. Para hacer esto, vaya al menú de listas de programas y cree un nuevo programa. • @TheatricallyJerry
      @TheatricallyJerry 2 месяца назад

      @@Smoothnf No, the only reasons it would give you that error are that there's not enough fog solution in the tank, the tanks not screwed on properly(unscrew it and screw it back on tightly or that the tank is old and needs a new one. I like your reviews a lot since you get really in depth with some of the tiniest stuff. One thing I think may be beneficial to see is how well a they can light up other objects. If demonstrated, I would know more about how well it performs even without knowledge of the technical stuff.

    • @TheatricallyJerry
      @TheatricallyJerry 2 месяца назад

      @@ReapersHorror Thank you for the compliments. We will consider that in the future. It's rather difficult to light things up because it's very subjective and also taking distance into consideration. We have to consider the watts of the LEDS as light designers and the beam angle to make a informed decision, we usually rely less on how well it lights a object. For instance I can make a informed decision that a 10w LED is not sufficient for stage use but is fine for mobile DJ's. Another example, a 10 degree beam spread will not cover as much area as a 45 degree beam spread. If I need a wash I would consider a wider beam angle if I want to highlight a single object I would lean more towards a spot light and a tighter beam angle. It's hard to convey a lights ability to cover a object through a video at varying distances,thats why manufacturers give Watts, Beam Angle, Lux ect.

    Hey Jerry, can you maybe make a video where you start a showfile completely from nothing? I am also interested in how the console behaves if you have an intensity effect in the first cue and the next cue is 100% just intensity with a fade time. I tried that with the Onyx on PC software, but I did really weird things, just wanted to know if the console has a nice fade between effects and the next cue. TIA!

      Leave it, never leave the atomizer dry after you have filled it. If it's new and u filled its OK to leave it dry. After it's been exposed to glycol it must be kept wet so the wick inside doesn't dry out or degrade.
