As for Damned Dragon (obviously gonna have a new name in TCG), i think it acts as Falberge: the Sequal because i’m betting this is a clue that they are hitting Flamberge to one soon. because if they do, this card has more use than being “just another Flamberge” and becomes a way to get another one on the field since you now only have one to work with in your main deck, but with the extra step of setting up to fusion summon it.

So since i know this is more a direct translation of the original Japanese version, St. Azamina might end up reading more like this: “Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects or cards they control, in their GY and bainished with card effects while face up on the field. Your opponent takes any battle damage involving this card. If this card was Fusion Summoned this turn (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon 1 Level 9 or lower ‘Azamina’ monster from your Deck or Extra Deck. You can only use this effect of ‘St. Azamina’ once per turn.” So to me she reads as that as long as St. Azamina is on the field, not only can it not be targeted by effects (meaning it can be taken out by non-targeting effects like Raigeki), but your OPPONENT is unablr able to target their own monsters on the field with effects and it locks them out of being able to target cards their own GY or even banishment pile, like a somewhat softer Necrovalley but with the added bonus of including banished cards. However it’s missing any battle protection since there IS an Illusion monster that is also a normal monster and so far no one is saying it can remain on the field if in a battle that can destroy it, so it’s either good to crash with once, left in defense, or there is (wil be) support that will keep it in the field.

What I would like to see is a Azamina version of Diabellestar that can only be used in pure Azamina decks that does everything that Diabellestar does but gives it the effect that it counts as a Sinful Spoil card and that instead of being able to special summon it from the hand it would be nice if it was a lv.4 or lower normal summon and then they could just let it set a Sinful Spoil, do something similar to Diabellestars 3rd effect, and give the ability to recycle Sinful Spoil/Azamina cards since to be good as a pure mid-ranged deck it would need some more recovery options to be good.

St. Azamina is nasty in Snake-Eyes because the way Sacred Azamina works is for every 4 levels of a monster your fusion summoning you'll need 1 Sinful Spoils as a material meaning that since St. Azamina is lv.10 instead of 12 it will only take 2 Sinful Spoils and as of the release of Sinful Spoils Deception Snake-Eyes now plays 3 different Sinful Spoils cards. This means you've lost Imperm, Veiler, Ghost Mourner, D.D. Crow, and any interruption that targets like S:P and Fenrir for example if you have the setup for it and leaving us with only board breakers and any non-targeting hand traps we can use to stop it in the process. If Snake-Eyes can consistently make St. Azamina it might not matter as much if our board is broken because we'll probably only have the ability to use Ash Blossom against them and with the effect to special summon Ash with Oak it doesn't really work plus St. Azamina can special summon Rhea from the extra deck insulating your board from a board breaker or Nibiru. Konami literally banned Apallousa to make card that performs a similar function in a more floodgatey way. Apallousa had to die so combo decks can exist in some capacity and be kinda but it sucks that with hand traps not really mattering again that we are back at square 1.

As a Mtg & Ygo player who isn’t into sports amid a culture where being into sports is practically assumed, I find refuge in the nerdy card game podcasts and channels that talk about things I like and can relate to. But every now and then sports inevitably comes up even in those and I have no idea or care about any of it. Even if I was into sports and just happened to be interested in the same sport, what are the odds I’d be interested in the specific team being mentioned. All things Sports related have their own podcasts and tv channels everywhere that talk so when it gets brought up in the content of the card game hobbies it’s a bit off putting for me personally. But I’m just a random dude on the net that’s into cardboard, not trying to be rude or give bad vibes. Ya’ll do things the way you want of course. Overall I appreciate this channel and look forward to more
