its a mahogany racing boat from 1960. jim wynne designed the boat and donzi copyed the boat. one off the first boats in the world with stearn drive and was the test for volvo penta. racing boat mahogany norway regatta kilsund 1960 speed awsome

I wonder if the torque is too much for that outdrive ? If that's an alpha one it probably won't last long. How Fast ?
Hi there, u have nice project 👊 i have also om606 need to put it work with alha gen1, how you get it work. IT need to cut off ignition for a while to get gear to neutral. How u solved it with
@@vladimirnikonorov6555 don't have any shutoff. The engine hunts at low idle so I have no problem.

I want to build om648 outboard with a foot from a Stern Drive Alpha One or whatever but I want to cut it and have the shaft on the back and have a synchronous belt to the crankshaft of the engine inside of a cover I see that you cut and shortened the foot so I guess the shaft could be also welded on the other side

@@User-wollswoycegawageneed to get right gearing and a smaller propeller. It's so big it tilts the small boat when flooring it. And I need to learn the boat and it's querks :p
@@stianjohn it definitely fly's I've got an old 1960 land rover I'm giving it another make over going from 3.5 V8 to 3.9 V8 that's also dangerous at speed No seat belts crap brakes No roof half the time I suppose you do have water to hit but think it would still be painful Good luck with it Made a lovely job 👍

After all this great work, this boat is unsafe. It obviously needs to be stabilized (fins, keels, plates) and the front needs some weight.

@@stianjohn Okay, Sir. Simply add wings to the roof and make the z-drive much longer. Then you will definitely gain more speed! Additionally you will have no bumpy ride any longer! 😁 ;-) Adding a hydrofoil thingi to the hull/bottom might have the same effect and will be cheaper. Of course you can always put this fantastic Mercedes engine in a bigger boat. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
@@Chr.U.Cas1622 need to change gearing now. So I can go for a propper propeller and get close to or over 80knots
