@Brom8Ganrok5 I'm still experimenting with uploads and how to trim videos. Sometimes, they are short and other times the entire match. So there is a mix of both right now. Which do you prefer?

@MK-Ultra-o7 you're exactly correct. The stick and pedals are for when I fly in ground Sim. I don't always fly in ground Sim. It mostly depends on the size of the game and the composition of my team. I try to see what everyone else is doing and then compliment it with my spawn choice. So if we don't have too many people on the team and one or two have already spawned aircraft, I'll just stick with tanks and bolster the ground team. If too many people spawn planes at the start, the match ends too fast to be beneficial to anyone.

@pickle4332 oh dude. Tell me about it. It's the worst! I really wish they'd remove captured/sold/side swapping from tank sim battles. Like if Italy in 1945 was using US equipment against the Germans... then just put the Italians on the Allied side for that bracket or whatever. But... nah... we just get a mix of everyone having Sherman's covered in bushes running around behind enemy lines without reporting and our IFF feature is wholly useless.

I'll see about working on a tutorial. I do have a few videos on aiming and love to talk general strategy during live gameplay. But Naval is a lot more complicated than it appears on the surface (pun intended) and can be a difficult subject to cover comprehensively. Naval is an absolute blast tho, and lends itself mightily toward team play. Most players don't recognize nor take advantage of the team play aspects... which makes anyone remaining who IS working for the betterment of the team EXTREMELY effective. We should squad up sometime and run through some Naval stuff together on comms!

@aidangray7087 great question! Old HLL content is downloaded from the stream which is being done live. During those games, I gotta cover the map. Now I run a dual PC setup to stream and record at same time without any issues. So I am able to record gameplay with a completely separate scene and not have the map cover. The map is covered during live play to prevent enemy artillery from wrecking my entire team by watching where they are on my map. TL;DR: the newer HLL videos have no map cover. The old videos had a tech limitation that required them.

Learn air combat manouevres and their purpose. You'll start to pick up the strengths of the planes as you play more so you know which manouevres to use in response to different planes. Climb at the beginning of the match in any gamemode except for arcade. It's not an easy game to get good at, but "smurfs" is not the issue - your skill level is.

@Brazmannslittlegamingcorner unfortunately, I think it is time for a new controller =( I had same issue years ago and tries EXACTLY the same thing (roll and yaw together)... it didn't feel good at ALL. They are symbiotic, just not THAT symbiotic. And you can FORGET about complex manuevers during dogfight like crossing controls and forcing overshoots or wild hammer heads. Not without having rudder as it's own independent axis.

@Andy_M.S.c underrated comment right here. There is a specific reason I use yards, which is because I play Naval. In Naval mode, we often engage at 8-14km. If you were to measure in meters, then you'd see something like 8.14km distance to target. Instead of saying 8140m, it chops off the single digits place. With yards, since there is no such thing a a kiloyard... it never gets converted. Instead of 8.14km, you'd see 8902 yards EXACTLY. This means when you're trying to discern if an enemy is getting closer or further away, and the rate at which it is occuring (something that I'd CONSTANTLY happening in Naval)... you can do it 10x faster by keeping the single digits place. This means every single shot you fire can be more accurately aimed 10x faster, and adjusted 10x on the fly... by making one simple menu change! It's not as useful in Air Sim, but I don't really use those distance measurements other than close formation flying... in which case, at those ranges always, 1 yard is basically 1 meter. I'm too lazy to flip it back and forth. If I could get an air Sim distance measurement, I'd choose nautical miles.

IL-2 is great, but I still love War Thunder from time to time. There's just so much variety in aircraft.

When you get in the area where enemy ground forces are, open your map and scroll it in to zoom in on your position. They'll usually be spread out line abreast advancing in a particular direction. Orbit them to align for runs that go down the length of the row. Orbit therr while you look for them visually. Look for their tracer fire and muzzle flashes to find them, especially in dense woods. Once you spot them, go in for a run and try to get as many as you can. You don't want to idle in the area for too long after killing troops, cuz everyone will know you're there after the first pass. So get in quick, drop your bombs, come back to dump your rockets, do maybe one or two strafes, then get the heck out of there!

Yaks are incredibly agile and fun to fly. I would've been screwed if I hadn't hit that shot.

No tail hook on a 190 and the brakes are pretty terrible. The low speed performance of a 190 also leaves a lot to be desired. Certainly not an aircraft that is well suited for carrier landings... but we were bored and had a flight of three returning so we all decided to give it a try anyway. That bounce didn't help much, lol
