If you use pure Kerosene, it will have a strong odour. I only used mine in my garage and yes it does smell. I tested Parrafin oil in my smaller lamps and what a difference! Once I burn off the rest of the Kerosene in this unit, I am going to replace it with Parrafin Lamp oil.

@davidhansen9665 Maybe try a different brand of Kerosene. I happened on one w no smell. Crown Kerosene from Walmart. I used my lanterns and someone remarked there was no smell.

Yes. You don't tilt it. Someones units have a dispositive who turn it off if is tilted. And you don't fill it at top. They haven't an hermetic fuel tank. Move it carefully.

This is one of my favourite stoves! I have to agree, its value is much more than what I paid for it. It's so powerful and easily controlled. On another note, I do have to consider getting a wind guard. Surprising, I don't own one, but it is a great inexpensive investment. Thanks for your comment, it's much appreciated!

Believe it or not, it was $40 (Canadian Dollars) at the time I bought it which was about 3 or 4 months ago as you can see at about 5:38 in the video. I was just on amazon looking at the prices now. WOW did they ever go up!

@ItsMePaulyC no probs dude. I was looking for a cleaning/ dismantling video. I've had one of the northclan ice machines for few months now, and find can't get to the hard to reach places. Wondered if can dismantle to get to those spots.

@ItsMePaulyC aye, they're all different, if I try and stick a screwdriver in or whatever to try prise things open I may break it......know how I mean. There's gotta be a way to dismantle without breaking joints etc. But I do like your way of dousing it in cleaner......lol spray spray spray then rinse throughly. Seems easiest way. That'll do for me.
