This is the latest update, filmed on October 18th, on my progress to get a new large greenhouse set up in our new location. With all hard landscaping now complete and better weather forecasts for the w/b 21st October hopefully construction can soon commence.

How exciting David x I bought and paid a fortune for a calliope red from Chatsworth and Iv had 20 cuttings off it all doing well x so that plant was in fact worth every penny x the Darkest red Iv ever seen x
@@kimmybooth That’s good, best of luck with them.
Hope all goes well. All the best 🇬🇧.
This is extremely helpful for me as I’m in the beginning process of ordering a Hartley Botanic greenhouse. I will have auto vent windows at the top, but hand vents on the sides. I’m curious why you don’t have a drain in the concrete flooring? I’m not sure what flooring I’ll get. I want easy clean water wicking and nice looking. Thank you so much for letting us see the build!❤❤
Thanks for viewing. That's interesting. Yes I will also have louvre vents at the side and end which are thankfully manually operated. I have to say that I have had many concrete base greenhouses in the past and know many people with them in various sizes but I have never come across any with drains in other than in a commercial environment. With pelargoniums the watering requirements are fairly minimal with very limited water falling out of larger clay pots and none from smaller plastic pots which are all watered from saucers so I wouldn't have the need for a drain anyway.
Always exciting if hard work getting a new greenhouse. Hope all goes well. Have a good holiday. All the best 🇬🇧.
Have a nice holiday. The Greenhouse will be lovely. ❤️👍
Will miss your videos but please have an enjoyable holiday! I imagine the greenhouse will go up quickly when you return.
@@janecurtis5726 Thanks Jane, Hopefully 🤞
Have a great holiday! Cheers!
Things will move along once that base is down! Have a great holiday!
Have a good holiday David x
Is that being laid on mud?
@@app6072 No grey type 1 is down but saturated making it look very dark.
Moving right along! Thanks for the update!
The weather is so off and unpredictable. 🙏ing for sunshine in your area!
So YOU are getting all the rain! We've been rain free for 14 days and need some. Feel free to push it our way in the N.E. U.S. Wishing you better weather sir.
Very historical part of the country. I was stationed in Blandford, Dorset (next door to Wiltshire) back in the seventies. Beautiful part of the country. Geraniums are looking fantastic. The Botanic gardens would be proud of a greenhouse that size. Mine is only 8'x12' that cost 5 1/2 years ago. Frightening to think what yours costs. Can't wait to see it erected.
Thanks for the great update…love the property and your new greenhouse will be large and enjoy lots of sun…you and your son did lots of digging!
Glad you and your son don’t have to do any more of the excavation at the greenhouse site. Are you leaving the shrubs? It’s hard to tell how close they will be to the greenhouse or how difficult to prune or shear. I suppose you’ve already considered that. Nice to see your plants surviving so well out of doors! The gold leaved varieties really do stand out! Looking forward to the next update!! Have a wonderful holiday!
@@janecurtis5726 Thanks Jane, yes the shrubs will be kept but cut back over the autumn / winter period. They are far enough away from the greenhouse not to cause trouble much trouble.
You guys certainly put your backs into that - looking forward to hearing about the new greenhouse, it looks like you will have plenty of room for a lot more plants. Enjoy your holiday.
@@StephenPollard-x7h Cheers Steve
WOW! Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew. But that is going to be one nice sized greenhouse! Fantastic!
Hope all goes well. All the best 🇬🇧.
I'd like to see this kind of Work in progress videos...
Have a smooth transition with your move. Have been following your channel for the last couple of years from canberra, Australia.
Looking forward to the build. How exciting!
Eagerly following!!
I’m happy you had no casualties! Surprised to hear about frost in September.
@@janecurtis5726 Yes, unusual for us in southern England in mid September. First time it’s happened in years, just typical that it’s this one.
What a lovely big back yard. 😊
My fingers are crossed for you and the plants!
Look forward to seeing the progress! Looks like a MAJOR size upgrade! Congrats!
I hope all has gone well with the move - best wishes as you settle in to your new home.
Fingers crossed they all make it!
is there a new greenhouse awaiting you? what a job!
@@anya229 No, unfortunately not. I’ve got to build a new one. Typical that we appear to be having the coldest spell of weather in September for years over the next couple of days
It is so much easier to get a visual grasp of the inside dimensions of the greenhouse with most if the plants out of the way. These remaining plants look lovely. Happy moving day!!
Monday 10th?🤔Back to the future 😂
A new glass house?? Good luck with the move!!!🙂👍❤️
You seemed to make good plans for all this. Well done!
A lot of work! You have more energy than the kids now a days! Good for you!
Frost forecast for tonight😂❤
@@bobthedog4502 Yes, not here but am a bit concerned about later in the week.
WOW, good luck with the move, looks like somewhat of a nightmare!
Best wishes for move ❤
Good luck to you and Mrs P with the move! I wasn't subscribed to this channel until today, but have been on the PAGS one for years and am glad I have discovered you over here. Really excited for the new glasshouse - I had a 10'x20' one installed 4 years ago and love it...
@@GlasshouseandGarden Thanks very much 👍👍
Good Luck with the move to you and Susie. x
Exciting news!! Besides your current collection will your new greenhouse be able to accommodate a larger collection? Including a propagation area? Can’t wait to follow the construction and rehousing of your plants, etc. Happy trails!!
Wow, good luck! Lots to do until then!
@@Tommyr 😂 Sure is.
My best wishes David!!!🎉
Best of luck 👍
Best of luck ....
Good luck with the move, David!
Great news!
Well done. Keep up the good work. 😊❤
Hola siempre me an encantado tus hermosos pelargonios ❤❤❤❤
The best greenhouse I ever had was a Hartley's Botanic, it was really good but eventually because of age I had to move to be nearer to family. I can vouch for what they they say in their adverts that "The best greenhouse that money can buy". I miss it sorely but I moved to a house already with one in situ, which is ok, but I certainly notice the difference.
@@edsheringham751 Yes no doubt but way out of my price league I’m afraid for the size that I need.
