20Ib tank it is. Thank you🔥🔥
the only CO2 place i found charges 90$ for a 20 lb refill
Would you recommend the 3 or the PRO?
Aren't you loosing many liquid CO2 inside the hose after the filling process?
You should look into the breville infizz Fusion at this price range.
Does the water need to be filled all the way to the line?
Easier if you turned the 2nd machine upside down. Besides 3 seconds is nothing
Hello Sir, I am Al Amin. I am a professional RUclips thumbnail designer.I came across your youtube channel I will make thumbnail for your videos which is better than thumbnail. My design simple price. I'll make you better 2 thumbnail $5 Thanks Al Amin Hossain
Why does the canister needs to be frozen for the refill?
What is the name and/or link to the adapter you like?
can you use a larger c02 bottle w/ the aarke? i don't know if there was an easy way to screw in the connector.
Yes, you can directly connect a larger CO2 bottle. Here's the connector I use: amzn.to/4fz3kx5
@@sodascott i have that same one I used for my soda stream, but I didn't know if it was compatible w/ the Aarke one, because I can't see how to easily screw it in.
@@JJiG Yeah, it will be a bit challenging, because the screw is at the top of the machine and you go in from the very bottom. I'd tape it to a dowel or stick to get it in there, tricky though.
@@sodascottCan you show us how you connected your aarke with this kind of connector? Did you make some modifications to it?
Every metal that undergoes pressurisation and depressurisation, will eventually fail. My question is how many refills can you pump inside these small canisters before they blow up?
Hey Scott, I may have missed something. Your Amazon link takes me to the adaptor that you DON'T recommend, not your "Top Pick Adaptor w Hose ($80)." Can you tell me where to purchase that one? Great video!
You are an excellent teacher. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! 🐱
Thank you so much for watching! Appreciate it 🙌
the equipment is expensive, but the method is good

Is it possible to directly connect the 20 lb tank to the soda stream?
Do you take your 20lb tank to bed?
amazing video!!!!!! best one!!!
when you say 5:1 parts is that by volume or weight?
It looks just like the SodaStream genesis just chrome 😂😂
Oh my gosh - you are 100% right.
Okay, looks cheaply made for a premium item. and I can't believe it's not automated carbonation levels, etc 1 2 or 3 levels. for that price not worth it, i'd send it back.
Yeah....after a month with it now....it's not good. : (
Hello Soda Scott from across the Columbia River in Vancouver, USA! I am enjoying checking out your channel as I too am a Soda Fiend who likes to tinker with my carbonation setups. I'm lucky to live 1/2 mile from Bader Beer and Wine Supply (#3 on your Google results at 1:51 of your video), so getting my 20lb and 5lb CO2 tanks refilled is a breeze. Fizz On!
Thanks for watching! Go PNW!
How do you know if the 20lb tank has a siphon tube or does not? What would be the result if you used a siphon tank hooked up directly to the Soda Stream?
I asked the stores near me to refill pink cylinder, all of them said only refill for blue one 😢… so I go with the way directly to machine with 5 lb tank
Lol 😂 that machine you have to hold up on the air to twist in
Ha, fair point. You don't actually have to do that. Just a bit faster for me :)
Do the quick connect canisters have the same check valve stopping you from filling them faster?
Yes, you have to get them very very cold, and go slow. But it is possible. Good luck!
Thanks for making this video. I purchased the recommended adapter and I still can't carbonate my drinks. Installing the CO2 bottle into my Terra as you'd described goes well however the actuating pin on the Terra never reaches the CO2 canister. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You are turning off the tank when not making soda water for safety in case of leaks? I notice my Tearra leaks CO2 when I leave the 20 LB tank on. Have you seen this occur?
Yes, I would turn off the full tank when not in use.
I had free Diet Coke at work and I was drinking two a day. Ended spending $20,000 on my teeth. Coke is extremely acidic and weakens the enamel, leading to making them easy to break. It’s extremely bad when you’re sipping a little every few minutes all day. Your mouth is continually acidic and breaking down your teeth. Since I cut down on Diet Coke I haven’t had so many problems with my teeth.
Having done this for quite some time. The refill process does not give you the same volume as new canisters. Not sure why, maybe half. I believe that the tanks would need to be evacuated, negative pressure. Freezing helps but only slightly. This was my experience.
Yeah, sometimes you don't get up to a full 420grams in, but usually 300-400 is very doable when frozen and yes starting from fully empty tanks helps. Thanks for the comment!
@@sodascott Thank you for the response. Do or can using the canisters "wear out" specifically the valve that is constantly being depressed while filling?
That is an amazing video I would like to thank you very much for the video I have been going through the bottles about once a month but paying $30 per bottle it’s actually more expensive than just buying soda already made up so I went back to just buying regular soda made up I noticed that you could get for about $18 a bottle if you buy a bulk amount of six bottles but I didn’t know if they would fit my Thirstys machine although I would not want to go through the effort of refilling my own bottles I would love to buy a 5 pound bottle that I could bring to a professional to refill for like 50 bucks or even 60 or 75 bucks and then hook it up to my thirstiest machine if you had a link or a video on how to buy something like that and get it filled that would be cool and also Would that work on the Thirsty’s machine I’m looking to see if those bottles would work on a thirstiest machine and that’s how I came across your video anyways I really really appreciate your video thank you very much for all the knowledge that you’ve given me
Excellent excellent video thank you very much. By the way you should be using food grade CO2
Thank you! Yes, you want food grade or "beverage grade" CO2 for sure.
Is there any work required to have the duo work with this adapter?
Thank you for the video. Do you know if this works on the Gaia machine? Can we remove the bottom of the machine?
This will work on the Gaia machine - not sure about the bottom being removable though. That is one model I don't have yet.
I was looking for soda maker reviews, not get a crush on a creator ❤
😂
Nice videos! Can you also connect an external tank to this carbonator? I like the looks better compared to Sodastream but I dont want to refill cylinders all the time.
Yep! You can direct connect a 5lb or larger tank as well. Here’s the adapter I have; amzn.to/4fz3kx5
The only place that refills co2 near me are welding supplies shops ... is that ok to use? Is it good grade? Probably not?
Many will have beverage grade, that’s what you want
I’m looking at using a single co2 tank to refill pink canisters and make a DIY soda water in 2-liter bottles. I’m thinking I need to get a tank and CO2 Beer Regulator - Double Gauge - Single Body - Taprite Regulator. There are selections for being set up with a 1/4" Barb or a 5/16" Barb. Also, what are your thoughts on using a 10 pound tank instead of 20 pound. I guess I would need a tank with a siphon tube so I would need to easily flip it. I might be able to flip it manually going with a 10 pound tank but a flip mechanism I’d just go with a 20 pound tank. Thoughts, please.
For refills, yeah just get a 20# with a siphon tube to avoid any flipping. I haven't come across 5 or 10 pound tanks with siphon tubes built in. My 20# tank I have with siphon was around $164 on Amazon here: amzn.to/3V5CxQF
it is possible to charge only with an adapter and a gas cylinder
Don't know what you meant by Sodastream only has a subscription model for exchanging CO2 cylinders. Maybe they are different in other parts of the world. I have been a Sodastream customer for about a year in the US and always exchange cylinders on demand. I looked at SimpliSoda for quick connect cylinders and when you try to order they ask you for an email address and say they are not available yet and will email when they are.
it's pronounced "tehr" not "tarry" @ 11:54
Thank you! Always wondered that
Are you turning the gas on and off every time you use it ?
I would yes for safety reasons.
so basically spend a couple hundred bucks to safe 5-10 dollar on each refill. Have you done the math? After how many refills does this actually safe you money? Plus you have to store all the equipment and do the refill process Plus the hassle of the refills Plus the safety issue... I like the idea but it seems quite an investment
I use 2-3 cylinders a month - saves me at least $10 each, so math works out to pretty quick payback period - but I use pretty heavily
you can easily google your question
This video is absolute quality. For a channel that is just starting off you are off to an insane start. Looking forward to watching this channel in 2 years when you have 200 million followers and everyone is asking themselves why they spend 6h / day looking at videos about soda streamers.
Thank you so much for watching! Let’s do it! I’ve always loved sparkling beverages, and I love learning new things and sharing 🙌🫡💙
sourcing food grade co2 is difficult for me. I haven't found a good source so I finally pulled the plug and got a sodastream machine.
Have you tried to put salt in the ice to bring down temps more?
Oh great idea, will try that next 🙌 science wise makes sense!
Why not put the SodaStream canister in the freezer again and wait for the big canister to heat up a bit again and fill it a second time to 400g or do you feel it's to much of a hassle ?
Save yourself the hassle and connect the big tank directly to the soda stream machine.
That is the easiest method for sure, if you have the space and don’t mind the hose,
keeping safety in mind, it might be no good idea to keep such a large tank of CO2 in a room you are often in. In case of a leak you can get lethal concentrations of CO2 really quickly. So better store it in the garage and connect it via a longer tube.
@@hendrikhagedorn9442 almost every restaurant ( at least in my country) has a CO2 cylinder without any additional safety measures, I think you guys worry too much 😅. Based on your name you're probably from Germany as well.
@@Meuchlor got me there, german and engineer 🙂 most restaurants (kitchens) can be described as "well ventilated" in my oppinion.
Never even owned a SodaStream, but as a Coke Zero addict, I've wondered for a long whether it would be worth buying one, getting syrup, and making my own. I watched one of your other videos about hooking up directly to a large CO2 tank rather than refilling these. Just curious as to what the trade-offs are? Are there reasons why it wouldn't make sense to just hook up a large tank?
It’s really about space and looks - direct connect is definitely easier, less time, but will have to run hose and store tank somewhere. Thanks for watching!
Gotcha, thanks! Great job on the videos, btw. It looks like your channel is starting to take off! It would be really interesting to watch you experiment and report on what it's like creating your own syrups for carbonated drinks. Not that you have to try to recreate stuff that's already out there (like remaking the original Coke recipe), but part of why I've never sprung for a SodaStream was fear that they wouldn't last as a business. I might like one of their drinks, only to be bummed out when I can't get it anymore, lol. I guess I don't even know what kinds of syrups/flavors are even readily available.
thanks! I definitely plan to do more content like that - I’ve been doing some syrups already and even a hard Kool aid recipe, will get those videos out soon. Thanks for watching 🙏
