T-StudioWorks is a tribute to Tamiya Radio Control cars.
Tamiya is a Japanese brand synonymous with plastic model kits, radio control cars & educational models. I am no different to many 80's kids that looked in awe as others had the latest Tamiya and Kyosho, not having the finances to fund my interest. At 14 years old I finally built my first radio controlled car, an original release Tamiya Boomerang buggy. It was a present for doing well in my studies. I remember having to wait while saving up for a Futaba transmitter & receiver before I could run the buggy. Although I've been in and out of the hobby many times due to changing priorities, I've been hooked on the hobby since then. This channel hopes to share the passion and inspire others to take up & continue the hobby. The showcase is a means of thanking Tamiya for their amazing works. We hope Tamiya continues to design, produce & share with us these quality radio control cars.

Stunning Tamiya DF-03 MS 4WD Buggy (2008) | Tribute
The DF03 Chassis was 1st released as the Dark Impact in Mar 2006. This MS version is the hopped-up, top of the line version. The DF03 MS, named after 'Maezumi Satoshi' a Tamiya sponsored driver with his distinctive colour scheme was released in June 2008.
The buggy was unique being shaft driven 4WD and having a longitudinal central battery arrangement. To me, it is a development of the 1992 DF01 Top Force Evolution with beefier offset side mounted main drive shaft, updated for 2008.
Racing features include ball differentials, slipper clutch, alum dampers, centre one-way, universal drive shafts and adjustable hard turnbuckles. Durability is an issue with the buggy as it's too well packaged i...

The Top-Force is Tamiya's 100th Commemorative R/C Car in 1991. Then it was re-released in 2005 & 2017. It carried on from the Avante series of cars with it's distinctive futuristic single sweep line body. It introduced Tamiya's Star Dish Wheels that are still common today. It replaced the DF01 plastic bathtub chassis with a double deck Fibre Glass Reinforced (FRP) chassis. The differential gear...

The Tamiya Avante 2001 was released in 1990. Since then all the other Avante series cars except the Avante 2001 have been re-released. Hence it is highly collectable. I’ve been collecting parts over the years for this custom build. The parts chosen are to replicate and also strengthen the car as I intend to use this as a runner. Hope you enjoy the build video. In April 2022, I started this RUclips channel as a tribute to Tamiya Radio Controlled Cars. RC cars has been my childhood hobby that’s never left me, a mainstay that everyone in my life helped to cultivate. As a result it’s an activity that I’ve always returned to, to help deal with the ups and downs life is bound to throw at us. So I’m glad that I started making these videos to share with othe...

The Tamiya Egress Black Edition is the latest line of Avante series cars from Tamiya, officially released on 20th November 2022. It’s a fantastic build experience and will drive like a standard Egress as it shares all the parts. I’ve added my own flavour with the iconic custom brushless Sport Tuned motor. It stands out on my shelf. Also looks great as a new in box with it’s blister pack present...

This is my first Kyosho build, choosing the iconic Javelin that was rereleased in 2017. To customise it, I used Tamiya parts to give it an elegant ‘Black & White’ look with lots of natural finished alloy parts. All the option parts for the build are listed below. Tamiya Super Astute (2018) | Tribute
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.2 года назад
Item No. 47381 The original was released in 1991. This re-release has certainly made it better, more durable to accept brushless motors and LiPo batteries. I enjoyed building the Super Astute, it’s an easy old school build, very Tamiya with lots of heavy metal bushings in the suspension. Similar in layout to a modern rear motor buggy, being simple yet complicated at the same time. Luv it!!! Hop...

TAMIYA JAGUAR XJR12 | Unboxing & Build
Can't wait to receive mine next week, this is definitely one of .y favorite Tamiya buggies od all time
Good on ya! It’s a great buggy. It’s also great Tamiya is re-releasing this again. I can’t wait though for the other iconic Dynastorm buggy to be re-released.
@t-studioworks I hope it happens. We are all waiting for it
Great video…newbie’s question but what’s the main difference between this and the Avante? Thanks 🤩
The main differences are the original Avante has a shorter chassis making it twitchy to drive, the metal suspension arms were also heavy adding unnecessary weight and the front suspension didn’t have enough travel with the shocks at a very flat angle. The subsequent Egress, Vanquish / VQS & Avante 2001 had longer wheelbases, less complicated plastic suspension arms and better front suspension geometry. If you want a shelf queen, the original Avante is nicer to build and look at no doubt. For runners the subsequent Avante series cars are better. Hope you are able to enjoy both! 🌼🌻🌈☀️
@@t-studioworksgreat info thank you 🙏😎
Damn that's a nice collection
Thanks dude! Glad to be able to have this collection & to be able to share. Happy others have much larger, more comprehensive ones. Go go Tamiya!
Thankyou for this video
Great to meet Mr. Tamiya & share that experience.
That motor is perfection. Amazing idea, I love it. Stealing that idea!
Something fairly easy to do! 👍🏻
Fabuleuse maison aux multiples modèles pour fare plaisir aumonde entier ...Merci Mr. Tamiya ...
Yes, Mr Tamiya is a legend. We have lots to thank him for. 😊
Wow! Meeting, Mr. Tamiya must’ve been like meeting God himself!
Yeah… pretty close. 😂
Simply beautiful!
Thanks! 👍🏻
So beautiful 👏 Loved the added bling. Wonder if it's better than the Top Force Evo who is only lacking a slipper (+ alu motor mount and plastic gear instead of the brittle alu one) 🤔 Technical question, you used some kind of rail for the "travelling" shots ? they were so smooth 🤝
If you asked me to pick which I would want to choose for classic racing / backyard bashing, I would pick the Top Force Evo. It’s more my kinda buggy as I’m from that era. Plus it’s got a carbon chassis. I would forgo the slipper. It’s a very emotive choice. If not we would have bought the latest & greatest 4wd racing buggy from AE or TLR. Yes, I am trying out a rail. I have shaky hands that even a gimbal can’t fix.
Thats a very nice looking buggy 👍👍 I have one MS version myself but it's not so good looking as yours 🙂😀
Thank you. It’s really too good to run. Will keep it as a shelf queen.
Beauty! So much bling on this.Looks fast standing still too.😎🙌
Too beautiful to run. Will stay as shelf queen I reckon.
Nice, you mentioned aftermarket parts, did you add these or did Tamiya include them?
I think most of it is Yeah racing parts like carbon fibre & aluminium shock towers front & rear, centre alum brace, rear diff joints, steering wipers & steering bridge and titanium hex screws. The rest came with the kit.
Never knew MS stood for 'Maezumi Satoshi'. Thank you for that. I've always been amazed with the elevated quality and detail MS kits had comparing to the R specs. Would love to see one for the TA05 MS or TA07 MS!
I have the TA05MS. It’s one of my favorites. She is also a beauty with full carbon fibre body. And the TA07MSX is in this link… ruclips.net/video/MoYZaFs7QYo/видео.htmlsi=s5uzVKIUHK8C_l89
A slipper was available for this car right?
Yes. The MS comes with the slipper clutch as standard. From Tamiya as separate upgrade part, DF-03 Slipper Clutch Set. Item No: 53925
Is it still available?I think it is?
The MS version was rereleased in 2013. Once in awhile a second hand / NIB one will pop-up. Tamiya continue to rerelease the Dark Impact which is the DF-03 base buggy with the same body shell (with different stickers) as the MS. You could buy upgrade parts to make that into an MS spec.
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this video! Greatly appreciated! 🙏
Was very fortunate to make the trip & bump into Mr. Tamiya. Something I will always cherish. Also having the time & being able to share / give back to the Tamiya community has made this video extra special.
Here in the UK it's £500.
The shipping cost, tax, mark-ups by distributors & shops are pretty crazy. It’s certainly not a cheap hobby.
I just got mine,very happy.
Good on ya! It’s great to build / run / display / keep new in box.
Great having a look around would be better if there was a look around product line and how they are made.
To coincide with the Shizuoka Hobby Show this year, at the show & at Tamiya HQ’s open house, there were additional special sections showing more of the molds & equipment used to produce the plastic parts. There are cool RUclips videos on this.
I wish that Mr Tamiya would do Camper vans in Uk where i am from or in USA Rv,s , there is more money to be made from them because i do not know any one is doing them
It would probably end up Japanese ‘cute’ and it would be fun to hotrod it with a low turn brushless motor. I’m in!
Hi, I'm a big fan of your build videos. When will we see a new build video?
Heya! Warms the heart to know ppl enjoy the build vids. I just started a new 9 to 5 job, that’s why I haven’t posted build videos lately. I have a few builds that I would like to do & hope to do them soon. 😀
Espetacular! Sou colecionador de plastimodelismo 1/72. Saudações do Brasil 💚💛
Glad you enjoyed the video! Ayrton Senna from Brazil is my hero. ❤️❤️❤️
This is a great company. Their paints are wonderful
You are right. Tamiya makes great quality products.
Beautiful!
Thank you. Group C sports cars are one of my favorites.
What a beautiful buggy. Loved the build video. Great stuff.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. It was a joy to build.
Second to none Tamiyas the best you can get, the company has everything I have just one wish though, and that is, with the R/C modals they would change the screws from phillips to hex head
Probably it won’t be done for classic rereleases but kits like new BBX have them. 😊
@@t-studioworks Yah your right, sure is easier though.
You‘vé filled the room nicely, there‘s not much room for oxygen left:-). Keep the door open when you are in there 😊 Great collection !
Thank you.
Fantastic video! Been a huge Tamiya fan most of my life. Want to go there if I ever visit Japan.
It’s well worth it. Hope you get a chance to go! 😊
@paolofromtokyo could you also do a video of a day in the life of a Tamiya Scale Models Employee/hobby shop owner?
😂… that could be exciting, could mean working for Tamiya or owning a hobby shop to experience it first hand as part of the research.
Amazing video
Thank you. Thankful able to share. 😊
Thanks for positing this interesting visit to Tamiya. I haven't built any of their kits yet but have the USS Enterprise waiting for me to start. I would love Tamiya to start producing civil aircraft models in both 1/144th and 1/200th scale. There would be so many unique kits and many livery options.
Well, I hope Tamiya are reading because that would be a good idea. I wouldn’t mind seeing some classic turbo props. 😊
Amazing Video!
Thank you. Thankful for being able to share. 😊
Totally amazing video! Thanks!
Thankful to be able to share. 🙏🏻
Very well done video. Loved all the positive things that you mentioned about Japan. Wonderful country!
Thank you. We loved every moment we were there. We wish we have more time & resources in the future to return there again. 😊

Just wonderful, thank you 🙏
Thankful to be able to share. 😊
Walaweh ❗✌🏻 1 of my bucket list ✅ Thanks for the video, regards from 🇲🇾
Happy to share. Hope you get a chance to go.
Tamiya is undoubtedly the number one plastic model manufacturer in the world. Easier to make, parts fit like Lego blocks, easy to follow, and see manual, detailed yet not cluttered parts, so many varieties, and the best box art in my opinion. ( Takom, Dragon, Trumpeter, Border have too many unnecessary parts and they don't always fit well) I love Tamiya and many people would feel same way.
Aye! Aye! Completely agree with that.
It would be interesting to find out exactly where Tamiya sourced the example 'Golden Age' RC offroad buggies (e.g. 1981-to 1986) for the display case because they are certainly not box-art 'shelf queen' display samples of the kind found at the trade shows and/or in model shops and Tamiya catalogues of the time. As you correctly point out, many of the models (Sand Scorcher/Brat and Willy's Wheeler have non box-art paint jobs and frankly the Willy's Wheeler's finish looks rather shabby and many of the cars show signs of wear and tear and look like they've seen actual use judging by the tires treads. What's more, the Hotshot doesn't have the standard silver can Mabuchi RS540 from the kit but one of the modified motors (Technipower perhaps?). Instead of vintage display models, they look like donations from fans, which is rather surprising given Tamiya's resources (surely they could have easily found pristine, pro-painted out-of-the-box samples for exhibiting such a historic phase in its RC car development!
Not sure but my guess is it’s probably mostly in-house. The hardcore collectors would be honoured to loan their collections and these would be in pristine condition. 😝
great video , i had thought Mr tamiya had passed away iguess not !!
Mr. Tamiya’s successor, his son-in-law Mr. Masayuki Tamiya passed away in 2017. May he rest in peace. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Outstanding video, thank you so much for sharing this amazing vlog and bringing back so many good memories. Great respect for Mr Tamiya.
Why are you whispering??
Hahaha… Apologies. Unfortunately that’s the way I sound in real life. Apart from going to speech lessons which I’m not too keen on, this is only my third voice over video so it’s also a learning process how to record & edit. Will need to do better next time round. For now crank up the volume. 😂😂😂. Thank you for the constructive criticism.
My Filipino -Japanese cousin ask me if i go to Japan, what place i wanted to go, i said Shizuoka, The home of my favorite model kit, Tamiya
Good on ya. Hope you get to go. 🙂
Thank you for the great video. It feels like I've seen it in a museum myself.
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Had been a fan of Tamiya since the 80's. I wish to visit there when i travel to Japan in 2025. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you do get a chance, it’s well worth it.
It's not 2025 yet
Often a lot of things can happen between now & then. But we still hope he/she get a chance to go. 🙂
Amazing thank you 👏👏👏👏👏🏴
Am a huge Tamiya RC fan. Amazing videography and narration. Sat through the entire video. Very educational, learned a few new things here. Greetings from your neighbour in Malaysia 😊
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Happy to have been able to share. 😊
Wow, was für ein toller Bericht! ❤
Thank you. 😊
