👍
I was a fan since 11--seeing Vaughn Bode's Sunspot in Heavy Metal magazine.
This book is so good!!!
ive got a cobalt tattoo as anternatve to a "gang" tattoo, my one and only ill ever get/have from being involved with some Peruvian skinheads a time i was doing graff; lol a drunk Zipper head xcon from south america giving me a cobalt 60 tat; it's a crappy, but legible one 🤣
I've had this guide since it came out. Rune was BWS and Chris Ulm
The 2 Zelazny books are being reprinted and offered in the new Previews, the same one that is offering the new book you worked on
I saw the book in Previews and now I'll take a deeper look. Congrats!
love this
Bravo Ben!!! Congratulations!!🎉🎈🎊
This was wonderful. Nice to kick back and have such great illustration breeze by. Nicely done! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!
What a different kind of art! Think I’ve never read something from this author, but now I surely want to know more about his work!
I’m very happy to turn you onto it! 🍻
I have the book by Lyonel Feininger, and I love his stuff, his characters are unique his imagination is wild and he’s a great Abstractionist Cubist.
Thanks for showing this- copies in the states sell for $200+ btw the Ram and the Peacock is one of BWS’s first works…
Great collection/video you have some treasures there, few I haven’t got over my decades of collecting. I’m lucky enough to class Mark as a friend and have had a joint show with him in London 2013… my jewel in the crown is an original Vaughn sketch I stare at it daily. Cheers 🍻
Thanks! Yes I was turned onto your work through Mark’s feed: keep it up!

Would you like some more viewers!
I regret that I never had the opportunity to meet the late Vaughn. However, I have had several opportunities to meet & speak with Mark at several conventions over the years. (First time I met Mark was an uncanny experience: He resembled his late father so closely, it was downright spooky!)
Vaughn Bode is a GOD!!!!
i never made the link to Walt Kelly and disney haha. but once you said it, it clicked. i scored a junk waffel issue number 1 and 2 first print at an estate sale a couple years ago. really really happy about that. Bode's cobalt 60 was my first non mainstream comic when i was a kid. i love his style and definitely created a love of graffiti art in my brain. i also feel like Akira Toriyama was really influenced by Bode. just look at Toriyama's vehicle design.
got some gems there!
I missed out on the Batman Year Wha color version and they're sold out noe.
thank you sir!
I said to myself, “What’s the least I could do?”
There are a few places where I mean to say: “this is the best comic I ever made”, but it definitely sounds like I’m saying “this is the best comic ever made”-so there’s that.
Ah yes indeed it's fun time.
Can’t/won’t/don’t stop!
Maybe Dr. Werthham was right.
Love the video Ben. I felt the same way! If I'm being honest, I'm still pretty fired up. Still pretty pissed off. Glad you're doing well - SEND ME SOME COMICS MAN! 😬
Was it Tokyo Ghost, the book you couldn’t place as the story transitioned to modern Image? Such a wild Grand Designs concept!
Haha! Must be! I even read that book!
Feininger blows me away! Truly a master! I wish books on his work and life were more readily accessible . . .
Starting off with that Erol Otus cover! Ohhhh yeahhh!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was SOOOO excited!!!
Thanks for the kind words Ben. I enjoyed the walk down memory lane. I have such fond memories of this specific era of CKRS.
Volume up
When I heard "Moorcock's multiverse explained in 7 minutes or less," I thought there was no way. But you did a commendable job making it fit, and it still makes sense! Well, as sensical as Moorcock's multiverse gets on a good day, at any rate. 👍
The seven minute or less guarantee! Thanks, Aaron!
Hell yeah Ben!!
It actually ran for 4 issues, but the 4th issue was really slapped together and was mostly just stuff by Tony Watt at the time. We still got plenty of copies of 3 and 4 available!
Maybe I should pivot and start looking into doing issue 5 of H%C...or start a similar anthology, maybe give it a new name.
Another great episode and commentary on the impact of the Gift of the Piskor.
Thanks !
Glad you dig that Shadowhawk. Big badge of honor that it got some shine from Jim in their video. What a great book!
🖤💛🖤
So well said Ben. You are a Sage...
Trencher was Anton William Blake
What’d I say? “Blake Wilde”? 😂
Beautiful sentiment, well said.
Great video. I can definitely relate to a lot of what you say here. My experience was very similar.
Love ya Ben.
Agreed, Ben! The Gift of the Piskor IS the community he cultivated, something we will all still carry! The kind of comic culture we need! Great vid!
Thanks, Dan. 😅
The great "gift" that he "cultivated" solely to benefit himself. Narcissism and greed is the "comics culture" you need?
Great job. Jesus Christ and The Devil is the one.
love it, i rate the voice acting 5 stars out 5, like a young morgan freeman :D
