Men's Gucci Spirit (Web Bee) Loafer Review
What’s the exact colour of the shoes called? I have the same belt and haven’t been able to find any nice shoes to match them with. Anything else you’ve been able to find that’s also a good match?
@@khalida.7154 they are tawny brown. Dior also makes shoes that should match.
Yes, I was able to get the box, the white outer box, the maroon box, and the black eye glasses box plus the cleaning clothe that all have cartier mark
I bought 1 cartier eye glasses at Costco, picked up this afternoon except the case of the eye glasses they gave me was a kirkland signiture case, and I'm very upset, I don't know why they gave me including cleaning clothe is not a cartier but costco eye glass clothe, very upsetting
@rebeccayeo3585 that seems very odd. With a luxury produce you expect all the luxury packaging, regardless of where you purchase from. I would go back and ask.
Hi there, does this pair run true to size? My partner is a size 43 and I was going to buy him a pair of Ferragamo Parigi driver in size 9 EE.
I've found there run very true to size.
Thanks so much, this video helped
I happy to hear it helped.
6:21
I'm missing it, what happens at the 6:21 mark?
Awesome video ❤ just subscribed to your channel because i found it to be very helpful for myself with several items that you have reviewed. And because of your last hermes video I recently purchased a constance buckle in brushed palladium in the greyish color togo leather belt and im in love with it, Hermes is the king of leather for a reason 😎
Thank you for the wonderful comment and for subscribing. Unfortunately, my experience with Hermès was not good at all. I found that the glazing on these belts is not at all durable. My blue one has already been repaired once and has since been relegated to the back of my closet. I returned the brown one without even wearing it. I have since decided that Hermès is just not a brand for me. LV, GUCCI, Dior all make much more durable leather products IMO. I hope your experience is better than mine.
Beautiful and very comfortable loafer, worth every penny
@@vsop240 they absolutely are!
Hi David, can you tell me about the comfort of the Fendi loafer? Did they require some "breaking in" are they heavy to wear?
Hello and thanks for the questions. The leather is a little stiff at first but over all these are very comfortable. They are a heavier shoe but I would say only moderately. If they came in other colors, I would probably buy them all.
About to pull the trigger on these now! If I’m a size 9.5 ( 42.5 ) regularly, you would recommend to get a 10.5 ( 43.5 )? I got Hugo boss loafers and had to get a size 8 because they ran really small ! For these you’d say go up a size ?
These fit very oddly, and as much as I love the look, I absolutely would not recommend purchasing a pair. They sit very high on the instep of the foot but fail to provide enough room for anyone but those with the lowest profile foot. The leather is extremely stiff, and the break-in period is excruciating. These have been relegated to the very back of my closet, and if I didn't love the look of them, I would have sold them on eBay by now. As for sizing, good luck. I tried the 43, my usual size, and it was tight. I then tried the 43.5 they were sliding off my feet. I ended up with the 43 thinking they would stretch the more I wore them, but sadly, I never managed to get that far. I always thought I would never find a pair of shoes more uncomfortable than my Christian Louboutin loafers, but I wad wrong, these are MUCH worse.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 Thank you very much for the response I was planning on buying these online, I figured I could style these with a black and/or brown outfit scheme but if the fit and comfortable isn’t there , then it isn’t worth it to me. Any recommendations? I’m transitioning my style from sneakers to loafers and derbies
I have always found Ferragamo to be a very comfortable shoe. I will also say the Dior loafers I recently purchased are extremely comfortable, but did need to go down a 1/2 size on those.
Can we still get these anywhere?
Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure about anywhere, but you can order them from the Ferragamo site.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 I don’t see the “mason” title on the australia site but if that’s possible then I’ll try special order through the boutique here. Thank you for your fast reply and help!
@@luxdavidnyc3793 I can’t seem to see them on the australia site but I’ll inquire if the boutique here can special order from Italy if they’re still in production. Thanks for the fast response and help!!
I believe the belt match is absolutely perfect. Having exactly the same belt for every pair of shoes is hardly possible. Besides, if you have an exact match, where is your taste? Slight difference showcases your personal taste.
Thank you. I always match my shoes and belts, and this combo is amazing together.
Thanks for the review. I'm not sure I understand what is the problem with rubber soles? Hermes is following the market. Most people prefer rubber over leather these days. Years ago I was quite a proponent of leather soles, but now it's not the case. I put rubber taps on all my leather soled shoes as well, much easier to change those than the sole itself. Would definitely have rubber taps installed on this pair too.
Thank you for your comment. Leather soles a simply my preference. Personally I'm not a fan of Hermès. I think they're very over rated and their quality is no better than any other luxury. In fact, I would argue that their quality is lower. Obviously I had a very bad series of experiences with Hermès.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 I'd go even further with this. I don't think any brand is much better than others these days. If you look around, everyone is offering pretty much the same. I do like Dunhill accessories but I perfectly understand, you'd find similar wallet from Ferragamo, Dupont, Montblanc and other brands within this price bracket.
I bought these for my paraboots and realized there's some tension when removing them. Its for size 9-10 (the one i bought) and my paraboots are a 42. Is that normal?
What size is 38 in italian
Well belt sizes should be one size larger than you actual waist. So a 38 inch waist would be a 40 belt or 110.
Great video beautiful loafers.
80's RULE!!! Best decade EVER!!!
Hello again, David! Are the rubber soles stitched or glued? Thanks!
Beautiful shoes! May I ask what size are you in other brands like Nike? Gucci? Prada? I am a Gucci 9G, Nike US 10 and Prada UK 8.5. If ever this will be my first Gancini Driving Shoes so am checking what my US size would be.
Thank you. Usually I wear a 10 or 9.5 US depending on yhe shoeIn GUCCI and LV I'm a 9 or a 43EU. I don't wear Nike. I hope this helps.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 thanks a lot for the quick update!
Just got this couple of weeks ago. It’s a beauty. timeless, versatile, not in- your-face status symbol.
Congratulations! Personally I think the OP is as close to a perfect watch as possible. I do regret not getting the 39mm, but that doesn't mean I'm not still thrilled and very thankful to have this one.
@@luxdavidnyc3793i feel you,i also have this 36white model. And now the new 41op has gotten my attention
Buenos dias cuanto es valor de estos zapatos mocasines de color negros.
Hello and thank you for your question. If I understand correctly, you're asking if these shoes are actually worth the cost; I believe they are. The materials and construction are both very high quality. Over worn these a lot and they still look amazing. The metal YLS on the right show has remained black with no discoloration. For a brie period these were available in a leopard pony hair and I was thinking of getting them just to be fun. If they came in brown or blue leather, which are my two other staple colors, I would absolutely purchase them.
Have you noticed the microfiber soles being excessively hot compared to the typical suede ones? Also have they held up well over the last year?
I haven't noticed that at all. I've worn them a lot, and they've held up quite well. Thanks for the question a
Can you pls show me how you flip and wear the belt? I can’t wear it in both sides cause I’ve problems in flipping the buckle
Thanks for the question. Reversing this belt is difficult because the buckle is very secure once affixed. I've decided to leave it on the monogram size out of fear that the buckle hole will stretch.
What does BS means?
That's a great question. Unfortunately, I have no idea. It was printed on the label that was a fixed to the box. I would guess it may have to do with the material they're made of, but I have no way to be certain.
Bull Shit
Great video - thanks for sharing. How do YSL loafers compare with loafers from Gucci and Ferragamo in terms of quality, comfort, durability, workmanship?
Thanks for the question. In my experience, they are a quality product on par with other luxury brands.
I've just learned that "driving shoes" exist, lol. Would you wear them, for example, shopping all day in a city like London or NY, or to work even (darker colored ones at work )? Or are these shoes more meant for a brunch and a stroll by the beach?
Thanks for the question. Personally, I would not wear them if I was going to be doing a lot of walking. The soles only have rubber nubs, which leave the leather rather exposed. I would opt for a loafer instead.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 Thank you for the insight. Why not just buy a pair of loafers in the same style since they are more versatile? What is the appeal of driving shoes when one can buy a pair of loafers? Thanks in advance.
The Gucci loafers in white have gold hardware, which I don't care for. Also, white shoes aren't something I would wear often, maybe once or twice during the season.
Nice shoes! Subtle branding! Love the brogue details on the heel!
Thank you. I wore them for the first time, and they are so comfortable, I wish they came in other colors.
Hows the sizing on the Baudoin?
They are a little narrow, but otherwise true.
Hows the sizing?
They are a little narrow, but otherwise true.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 thank you! I’m a US9 in Nikes what size should I take? Whats your size for reference
You are welcome. That isn't interesting question. I purchased mine from a company called The Hand and they were fantastic to work with. They made recommendations with regards to sizing based on other shoes that I have in my collection. I have more Ferragamo shoes than any other brand I wear a 9.5 EE. They walked me through the sizing and it was perfect. I will say that the leather versions of these dude have a break in period, where I did not experience that with the suede. My recommendation is that you contact them and purchase through them, as I do not wear Nike and am not familiar with their sizing.
@@mrgoosey1700I’m a US10 air force 1, air max 90/95 and B&L US10 fits great, but yes they are a bit narrow and since my is pretty wide they do take time to break in.
Nice belt
Thank you
I have these. The bottoms are slippery. I had a cobbler put a vibram rubber sole pad on them. Not a resole, just an addition. Also, the gancini buckle likes to rattle. I put a dab of gel super glue on the hinge. It helps.
Thanks for the comment. After wearing these outside for a bit I found the soles were fine. I have not experienced the buckle making any noise.
Hi - sizing please? do you get a D, EE, or EEE?
Hello and thanks for the question. I wear the EEE as I have wider feet and in doing so I can wear a 9.5 comfortably.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 thanks sir. Whats your size usually on Nike?
@@luxdavidnyc3793 thanks! Whats your usual nike size?
@gelotorres sorry, I don't wear Nike, ever. I will say that Ferragamo probably runs as close to true sizing as I've ever experienced.
Just bought a pair of these last week, they came in dark green! They are so beautiful in person! How do you find them after a year? They fit well? Hold up ok? Many thanks!
@swizzmamba8912 I just saw your question and apologize for not responding sooner. I purchased these from Saks but see they have now expanded this line on the Manolo site. Dark green must be stunning!
Ssense is having a good sale right now and has ferragamo shoes, just picked up a pair of loafers.
Tamo junto
For reference what’s the belt’s size / waist size correlation
Great question, thank you. First for men, belt and waist sizes are two different things. Usually, a man will wear one to two sizes larger for belt. So, someone with a 36x waist will wear a 38 - 40 size belt. Most luxury men's belts are in centimeters. A size 100 is about a 40 and will fit someone with a 36' - 38' waist. Thankfully, the websites usually have conversion tables.
Totally subscribing I too have wide feet and designer shoes rarely have variations in width
Thanks for subscribing!
If you have a wider foot, make sure you try them on, they are more narrow than other designer loafers.
Nice desing of loafer shoes. I, like one.
what about sole quality? I have bought those and after one walk my sole start showing material loose. is it ok? and they very painful for my heel.
Thanks for the question. I've actually only wrote them once, which for me is very unusual. These are by far the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever owned and easily make Christian Louboutin shoes feel like slippers in comparison. The sizing is completely off, they are stiff, and somehow manage to squeeze what feels like random parts of my feet for no apparent reason. I did notice that Burberry has introduced a similar pair with a more elegant cut which I am considering, but I'm unsure if I'm willing to take the chance on another pair.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 what about sole? Is it good quality?
How are they holding up now
Thanks for the question. They are wearing really well & I would definitely purchase another pair.
I was typing a comment. Beautiful shoe. Write as I was about to post I saw a comment from me prior. Lol Beautiful shoe 😂😂😂
Thank you
How cam I get these shoes
They're sold in certain high-end department stores as well as in Ferragamo boutiques. If you are not close to either, they can be ordered off of the Ferragamo website ferragamo.com. Thanks for the question.
how much this shoes
Thanks for the question. I believe they're around $700US.
I finally got my first pair of driving shoes. I looked at Gucci, Ferragamo and other brands and I decided to go with Ferragamo. I went with Ferragamo because they feel better made than other brands and I couldn’t stand the rubber spiky soles on some brands. Ferragamo has these beefy soles and the lining inside is just beautiful and comfortable. I just love them.
Ferragamo drivers are a step above others IMO. I hope you enjoy your pair!
Sizing please when comparing to sneakers like Nike?
@@gelotorres my Nike sneakers are 11 and the drivers are 9.5 E. 9.5 is my true size, but I always get a size up because I swap the insoles in all my shoes. Well, I didn’t have to do that in these drivers 9.5 is just perfect.
@@biggboi1967 9.5EEE or 9.5EE?
Hello there, I am on the market for shoe trees and I like the brand. My question is: Are they made in USA or only the trees that were used grew up in USA? What does it say on the box?
That's a great question and I honestly have no idea. Unfortunately I don't have a box to even check for you. It might state this information on Amazon. If you find out please let me know. Thank you.
Great video. Got myself a pair of these & I love them. I’d recommend this brand shoe trees to everyone who cares for their shoes!
Thank you. They have become the only brand I use in my shoes!
Good morning from Thailand 😊 and Thank you so much for the good video! I just bought Ferragamo shoes from Department Store. I have few question about shoe buckle cleanliness. 1. How can we clean it or maintain its shiny? 2. Will shoe cream destroy the buckle? 3. How to avoid the cream stain after polishing? Thank you in advance for your advice.😊
Thanks for the questions. My experience with the buckles is that they are somewhat durable. When they get dirty I clean them with a damp cloth and dry them with a lint-free cloth. I have my shoes professionally hand shined & they take care to avoid getting any cream or polish on the hardware. As to how they avoid this, they are extremely careful and remove any of our comes in contact. I never have them machine polished as the buffing wheel can scratch the hardware.
@@luxdavidnyc3793 Thank you so much for your reply and super useful information. 🙏 This help me so much for take care of my new shoes. ☺️
Happy to help. I hope you enjoy your shoes for many years to come.
Beautiful shoe
Thanks
What’s the price ?
If memory serves me correctly, they were around $700.
