A RUclips Channel set up just for NC sport and Trad routes along with NC Boulders. With beta breaks and pure climbing at its focus.
Susie Cream Cheese 5 10b Ice Cream Parlor, Kane Creek
This route was the 5.10TR in the middle of the left most slab before reaching the corner. There are 5 bolts to the anchor. Solid rock the entire way make this a fun new addition to the wall.
Fun and hard for the grade. And I climb alot of slab. Worth a go!

Fun climb on this! Shot on my Insta 360 and Gopro. This route starts in the 5.6 corner, climbs up and left to the first bolt of Brush Your Teeth, then bumps over the ledge to the corner and up 6 bolts to the anchor on the arête. Named after a Stone Temple Pilots song (RIP Scott Weiland). Beware of a loose looking, yet solid flake near the top. Super great! Get on it.

At Ice Cream Parlor Wall. Kane Creek Area, Moab, UT. A 3 star climb mixed route. The best moves are the first moves. If you dont cheat it. Fun climb that feels way too easy for a 9 . Pitch 1: This is a great 5.8 warmup or option for gumbier climbers that you drag over to the N Face. It features a nice tips splitter on a slab. Many folks climb only the first pitch and belay off a dying tree with webbing around it. This probably needs bolts (heaven forbid). Those hollow aluminum rap rings are for single use only and should not be part of a permanent, heavily used belay statio...

Much better than just a helmet cam only climbing video. Those can be hard to watch like putting a helmet cam on a Simone Biles floor routine - or a nervous climber who looks around a lot or if there are a lot of options for hands and foot placement to look at. Looks like you put some work into editing back and forth between cameras. Whatever camera you are using besides the helmet cam I like better.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. Really. I’m still learning what people like. And in short, it comes down to what I like. Having the two cameras definitely adds a bit more to the footage. So thanks! I’ll keep using it. 🙌
amazing landscape! and nice climbing too😉
Thanks! We can agree on the one item. 😅
From aoelooser to mountain killer!
Hahaha. Yepp. Miss my AOE peeps. 😬
solid line!!
@@rgr195 I think so too!
Btw your thumbnail has a typo… should be better than, not better then. Awesome climb!
Hhahaha. Yepp. I see it. I’m surprised it took me this long to have a typo. I’m such a horrible speller. 😮
Are you still in Red Rocks? Not a fan of this wind we've been having....
Im in Utah right now. Heading to RR tomorrow and out there Tuesday and Wednesday. Wanna link? Hit me up in my DMs on my IG account @NCTradLines
Every child's dream is getting your rope stuck when you pull it in Red Rocks ;)
Dude red rocks is so good but that patina LOVES ropes. I find the pur line does help tho
@TheSubieFan i love my pur line!
Quality pitch!
Oh yeah! ❤❤❤
Is that sandstone you are climbing on? Looks very fun.
Yes. Sandstone. Super fun.
so did you think it needed those bolts? i couldn't tell for sure but it looked like it had decent nut placements. what did you see?
I know! I don’t think it needed the bolts. As a North Carolina boy, especially.
Ran into a few seemingly unnecessary bolts myself in Red Rocks... But that's from another east coast-er 🤷
@@Tick-Marksnot NC. We hate bolts. Except if it’s an unprotected crux. You may get One bolt. 😆
Very nice onsight!!
Thanks! It’s soft. 😅
That sound around 2 min is not comforting lol
I know! So much out here sounds hollow. You can see me look at the giant flake after hearing that. I was looking at it to see how crazy it is to place gear there. It’s fine. Just scary.
@@NCTradLines Ive blown a really thick flake whipping on a #4... I will never be convinced to whip on that sound haha
@@user-rr4sl2he8mfor sure. That can absolutely happen. 😅 scary
Nice jams
Thanks! Got some more jams on the way. Loads of it out here. 😬
Looking better every video! keep it up
@@BasicThought thanks! I appreciate that. Some days are better than others. But, I’m enjoying the journey!
Looked like you were having fun! Loving the Insta 360 views. Do you prefer that over the drone footage you do? I absolutely love your drone videos from climbs, you get such a clear shot of the pitch.
@@climbingbc thanks! I like the drone footage. Kinda experimental still for both things though! I appreciate your feedback! Both are good for different reasons. The drone is nice because I don’t have anything on me and the views are nice. The insta is nice for the audio not hearing the drone sound
@@NCTradLines Yea I imagine at a popular crag, hovering a drone during a climb might be the unpopular thing to do. Depends on location I guess!
@@climbingbc this too!!
Надёга!
"No gear, no falls" is actually a Dean Potter quote, as re-said by Brad's climbing partner, Jim Reynolds. Glad we cleared that up haha.
That was a nice history lesson. Tanks!
One day my videos will look this good. 😢 btw I can replace the lenses on the 360 cameras.
Dude! You need to clean those lenses well. Otherwise it really looks dirty. I got the glass lenses but think the plastic would be better.
Yeah, for sure repelling was a dream of mine since I was a little kid. Growing up in Florida, I used to try to find trees to repel out of or fall. 😂
@@ryanptitmas your fav!
I always wanted to do that
It’s the best part isn’t it?? 😂 love it
My teeth hurt every time you grab for a new piece of gear when you bite them with your teeth to maneuver it. 🤢
I think it sounds worse than it is. 😆 It’s a third hand!
I love the 360 cam!❤
Right???
@@NCTradLines I think it would be better if the pole were a bit longer - you'd get less of a fisheye view, more silas rossi style (which I'd love to have a go at once I can afford an insta360)
and yes, love the videos!
@@largeformatlandscape true! But, then it would affect the climbing too much. This was already kinda annoying. 😂 I’ll try it longer one day
@@NCTradLines yeah I can see that.. Silas’s videos look so good though,
Do you have to leave the bolt and anchor things there or is there a way to take them with you
After I make the climb. I lower and collect the gear. Or, If I have a partner and we’re going up higher on the wall. As he follows me then he will collect them!

@@unclesam2770 thanks!!!
That crack looked like it'd take a cam
@@Kingofdafarm21 it would have. A #1. But I had already placed them. Also, the tiny tiny crack could have taken some brass (which I don’t have). Also the pod at the top, but at that point I would be fine with the one more easy move to the bolts. 😬 It’s hard to tell in the video. But there is “not much placements for gear” like I said in the video. I felt fine with it. Calculated risk.

You like drugs?
My friend got stung in the lip reaching into a crack with a wasp nest! Gym climbers do not know the peril, I've come across more wasps on climbs than I can count.
Oh no! That’s scary. I need to carry my Epipen for this reason. Maybe I should get my prescription renewed? 😆 The bee season should be over now though!
Nice, the end is kind of scary!
@@h2m1ify it was for me too. Hahaha. But, I made it thru. I’d go back and do it again. Very nice climb!!
What is the diameter of the purple rope?
@@ClimbingCR I don’t remember. But, 5.9mm I think. -high-strength UHMW polyethylene
-Snap gate carabiners over an edge which risks opening the gates so I’d use lockers here. One carabiner is being levered over an edge which will cause bending stress, big no. -all those cams looked like they could have been closer to the edge so that the crabs were free hanging which eliminates both of the above problems and prevents your cord from rubbing on the edge too. -You created a master point but then clipped a hms to the master point to then clip yourself to the hms (?) - make sure the safety chain has as few points of failure as possible. -The same hms as above was clipped with gate facing towards the rock - clip it and flip it so the screw gate is down and out. This makes work so much easier with them, like 1 handed clove hitches. -speaking of clove hitches why not clove hitch straight into the first piece so you can chill out. Especially in a spot where you don’t have a ledge. -I wouldn’t bother wearing a pas when you have a rope attached to you, if you really need to go indirect you can use a quick draw I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable if my buddy did this but it highlights a lack of deep understanding of the theories behind anchor building and shows that this leader is either relatively inexperienced or stopped learning after developing the fundamental skill set, thinking that the basic knowledge of the IDEAS acronym was all they needed. Before I get ridden in the replies for being a dick, the caption asks for critique and I’ve given it :)
@@piercecooke9649 hey, thanks for the suggestions. I did ask what you would do differently? And you shared! I have quite a bit to learn. Therefore, I will be taking a SPI course soon.
@@NCTradLines Good luck with it mate! We all start somewhere and staying open to learning and always looking for improvements will make you a good leader. The worst leaders are definitely the ones that think they have it nailed and think in black and white. Like I said, these are all improvements cast from my experience but I certainly wouldn’t feel unsafe sitting on your belay here :)

You should say where the route/crag is in the blurb.
It’s in the name of the video? 😱
@@NCTradLines Yeah, the route is. But where is this route? Seems like a pretty obvious thing people will want to know.
@@jonny2vestsyou have mountain projects? Just search the names. Seems pretty obvious 😉 Also, every climb I post is in NC. That will absolutely narrow it down.
@@NCTradLines Sure. But why not just write it dude and save everyone the bother? The algorithm is spreading your stuff in ways you don't realise, its not just your followers coming across this stuff.

Good route, been on it many times. You missed a ton of gear at the top. Tunnel vision haha, to your left was bomb gear, and a bomb .75 out right like 6 ft below the anchors. Why didn’t you take it to the top?
Titties and beer should be next! ;)
Ton of gear?? Oh boy! I didn’t see any. Besides in the crack. The #1 size. Would have worked but I didn’t have it. I don’t think I had any more .75 either. You’re talking about the .75 in an eyebrow? Like 6,7’ to the right? Maybe a nut would have worked in that? Need to get back on that and look for better gear! How do you protect the crux?
@@NCTradLines yea that little eyebrow haha, after the Crux (which I place a tcu in the block) there is gear on the left face of the crack, there are good jugs there to!
