Join me in my art adventures as I explore mixed media, digital art and comics.
I love experimenting and trying new things - so expect a great deal of mistakes and learning as I share what I find along the way.
I started teaching myself to draw in January 2020 and haven't stopped since and each year I see a big improvement. I spend most of my non-day-job-time artsing.
I hope you find something for yourself here - enjoy!

meetings like this online drawing club, is such a nice idea! very low threshold to attend. (forever searching for close-ish irl groups... 😢)
Ikr! Hopefully you will find some irl ones but in the meantime that online sessions will fill that gap for you ☺️
I love the idea of limited palete for sketchbook but i'm too chaotic for this haha. Maybe I can try to do this while keeping 2 sketchbooks. Did my 1st ever inkotober this year and I did all prompts but I dont feel any satisfaction for doing this. Stupid brain is stupid - insted of being happy that I did so much drawing i'm thinking that my ideas are not original and everything is meh :/
Oh, I keep at least 10 sketchbooks at any given time 🤣 (seriously) I’m definitely chaotic. I can’t imagine only having one at a time. Different sketchbooks are for different vibes. lol So it was easier to keep to the 3 colours though I never managed this in the past. I think I found the colours I really liked and it helped. Congrats on finishing inktober! It’s still a big achievement, even if you don’t feel original. I think most people come up with the same ideas and that’s ok! The purpose of inktober is not really to be original but to draw for a month every day. I think. It’s good practice. Maybe you could pick your favourites and expand on them? For example, redraw it a few times trying to make it weird and very different to your original idea. But it’s ok to leave it in the past too! I’m sure you’ll find something in it in the future but it’s ok to move on and find new inspiration elsewhere. I did peachtober very low key as I always struggled and compared myself to others and this year I set the goal to “just draw and not spend too long” which meant the goal was to make imperfect drawings so I had less fomo seeing so many beautiful finished pieces. I hope you get the joy of drawing back soon!
Hmm I’m not sure if my reply saved as it’s not showing. Hopefully it will show up 😅
@@WeirdIsTheBest Oh I usually keep one royal talents for mixed stuff and one for wet media, but they both are very chaotic haha. They have some art journaling vibe which I really like. But maybe I'll try to grab some small sized sketchbook and try to do it with limited colors. I've tried to do couple of mono color drawings during inktober (not black :D ) and while it was challenging it was definitely fun ^^ I havent looked at lots of inkotober posts so it's not even about comparasion to others, so I'm not sure what's my problem is :/ Especially since I finished it on time - so it was definetely a good practice since I tried different technices and such and it was pretty fun doing it but afterwards I was just like "well done and done". I watched Katie's Moody video about challenges and I think it helped me a bit tho. I've also done watercolor month in July I think? And I liked the feeling afterwards more.
I guess the challenge is just not for you. That’s ok. It’s just a challenge and if it doesn’t work, you don’t need it! Inktober , in the past, I found a bit tough. I can definitely recommend birbfest ruchu is in January I think and super fun but definitely challenging. Well done for completing inktober on time! Mono colour sounds great and like a nice way to constrain the mediums. I’ll have to try it soon, maybe as a personal challenge. I hope you regain your love and enjoyment of drawing very soon (if not already).
I don't think I could pick a favorite if I tried! Its so cohesive, even though the drawings are so different. Great work!
Aww Reb! You’re too kind! ☺️ thank you so much!
Lovely sketchbook, Kama!
Thank you Arati! I loved watching your sketchbook tours also! 😊
Hi Kama! I love seeing your sketchbooks and art! I’m currently doing a diamond painting of a snowman while I watch and listen! I’m so glad to see you posted! I really appreciate longer videos! 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
Hi and thank you so much for your kind words! ☺️ that’s so lovely to hear. What’s a diamond painting? I’ve never heard of out. Is it a painting technique? Either way, it sounds really cool and wintry! I’m definitely still in autumn/fall mode 🍂🍂🍂
@ it is like color by number, but you attach individual plastic “gems” to a glued canvas with a grid. It is very calming to my brain, and I work on them for small times and go back to finish when I can. It’s colorful and satisfying. You don’t make many decisions so it is nice sometimes!
Ah I think I know what it is as I’ve seen someone’s doing this before. Sometimes Ira just so nice doing something similar like that. I tend to do jigsaw puzzles etc or go for walks to relax in this way.
@@WeirdIsTheBest oh yes! I’ve done lots of puzzles too! Sometimes we all just need to turn our minds off! Walking is a great activity too!
@raidermomcathy2043 yes! I hope you enjoy your diamond snowman ⛄️
Seeing all the pages of the sketchbook with the same colour palette is really pleasing 😍 did you take any lesson from it?
Thank you so much! My lesson would be: It’s better to stick to a smaller set of colours and I also learnt to use values better I think. I also found filling the gaps with plants and tickets etc makes for better memories and prettier spreads! ☺️
What's plenty of pages in one go! ^^
I think so too! It’s hard to get used to drawing less and having less time to draw after filling sketchbooks very quickly over the summer, so this challenge really helped me finish it off ☺️
Awesome video, love your art
Thank you so much!
:)
🍐
Love a swatch session! I’m a big fan of all shades of yellow 🤩
Yay! I’m glad you liked it! I really didn’t realise how many “yellows” I had until this video 🙈
Ps: I’ve got loads of swatching videos in my swatching playlist 👀 ruclips.net/p/PLXbzznFG_2rx4NJTdh-IlWP2gv-9hyzbd&si=0LZU6AGMvdKK8hML
Oooh that lilac… hope you feel better soon!
Right? That lilac is amazing. Thanks! I’m already feeling much better 🤘🏼
I'm drooling over the art creations sketchbook display in Poland
Right! It was really hard to control myself and not get all the possible colours! So neat and nice (and inexpensive)
Nice colors, I added that Ultramarine Pale to my wishlist!
It is lovely isn’t it! I really need to use paints more often!
Still love all these embarassing bits :D I'm in love with lilac now - need to try it next time I'll draw - thanks for the inspiration!
Ha ha ha great! I thought I’d be brave and share the video as it was pretty much 😅😂 thank you! Oh yes, lilac is so nice!
I just wanted to say - found lilac and royal blue in my own pallete and I love using them to tone paper in my sketchbook. Thanks again for this creative boost <3
@patheticwimp oooh I’ve got to try that! Do you mean, you paint an underlayer with them?
@@WeirdIsTheBest yup, exactly :) I'm using sketchbook with true wait paper atm and i dont really like how bright it is so I'm experimenting with underlayers
@patheticwimp that’s such a cool idea! I never do that but I tried it in the past as a test. Gotta try it next time I paint something 👀
Such cool stuff! I'm in love with postcards <3
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you like them 😀
Super cool and huge shop update Kama 🎉💕 I might buy more stickers 🙈
Yay, thank you! I’m so glad you like them. The update is live now btw (sorry I’m enabling he he he 🤣)
Verrrry cute stuff, I will have a look, i need some of those stickers!
Aww you’re the kindest Reb! Thanks for such a nice comment 😊
Wow I’ve never seen the gansai tambi paints sold separately. Were they in Poland or the uk?
These ones I got from Poland. You can find them in the UK at Jackson’s Art website though!
“I saw a Rosa watercolours and couldn’t resist “ 😆 That’s me yesterday. I bought indigo and royal blue either. I’m not sure why it feels so heartwarming to know that someone bought something similar, but it is😊 And yeah, they are Ukrainian
Oh, and I reeeeeally like that mushroom drawing and your choice of purple colour for it
Thank you so much! Ha ha oops! I’m now committed to painting more with watercolours as I always avoid it at all costs but now I got even more paint, I have to! Indigo is such a nice colour! I can’t imagine not having indigo in my life! Royal blue too! Btw my next video is going to be swatching these paints!
That’s so nice to hear! Thank you so much ☺️
When I grew up we didn't have to worry about annoying children because they didn't exist. We know we were meant to be seen not heard. Should we ever forget that fact we were very quickly and publically reminded. If not by our parents then by other adults. The world was a much better place back then.
Hi Phillip, did you mean to comment this under my video? I can’t remember mentioning anything about „annoying children” in my video? Maybe something got lost in translation perhaps?🤔
Welcome back Kama!
Yay, thank you friend! 😊
Hope you'll get better soon! Also I'm huge fun of how real your videos are so please keep them unedited <3 It's just such a breath of fresh air
Thank you so much! I’m already feeling a little better so hopefully recover fully soon. I’m glad you prefer the videos unedited! I always worry about not editing bits out enough so that’s really nice to hear that you prefer unedited 😍
We also have koh I noor everywhere in Lithuanian and I get something every time I go. They are Czech brand. You made me wanna visit Poland for art supply shops :)
Wow I had no idea they were Czech! 🇨🇿 It’s such a nice store; I almost didn’t visit it because I assumed it will only stock one brand (less interesting) but it turned out to have so much variety😍
love unedited!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! That’s great to know 😃
What do you call that device?
Do you mean the scoring board or stapler?
I'm excited to see the sticker making process. Also def going to look up a couple of these comics. Thank you!
Amazing. I have the video queued up for editing. I fell a little bit behind on RUclips, but hopefully catching up this week 😅 glad you got inspired by the comics!
This was great Kama! Sorry I was living under a rock and missed the chance to ask a question, maybe next time ;) Thanks for keeping me company while I got some work done. I really hope you have a lovely visit with family and friends when you visit Poland🥰
Thanks Debs! I’ll definitely do another one in the future 😁 it was really fun answering the questions. Thank you! Can’t wait to get there and to have a bit of time off too 😄 Glad to have kept you company while you worked. I hope you were productive ✨
Also part two is out now too if you’re interested 😀 ruclips.net/video/zsarKxfjzq4/видео.htmlsi=x7Zfb38Z7OJgj049
@@WeirdIsTheBest I was! You were wonderful company as always with your videos, Kama😊✨
@@WeirdIsTheBest I’ll put it in the queue!😁
@debbiedrawsfunny 😘you’re the best!
This was fun Kama, thank you for answering my questions 🤗 I don’t read many comics, so your recommendations were a very interesting part!
That’s so nice to hear. I hope the video inspired you to try some comics! When I started reading them I was surprised how different they were from what I expected! No superheroes etc which was what I always thought most comics were!
you did a wonderful job! on your painting! I know the second brush you showed (with 2 diff kinds of hair) that one is used to paint trees leaves and branches as it can paint expressive strokes! Thomas Schaller uses that kind of brush !! Hi from Canada!
👋 hi, lovely to see your comment! Thank you. Oooh maybe I’ll be brave enough and try painting trees with the brush. I’m still too scared about using these pricey brushes 😬🤣 I’ll get there, perhaps once I’m done with all the markets this year 🤩 I keep meaning to do more painting. Thanks so much for the tips ✨
Great video Kama, love the graphic novel recommendations as well!
Thank you Ellie! It’s a weird new format for me but I did enjoy recording ☺️ glad you like the graphic novels!
I really love your graphic novel choices! The illustration styles look beautiful and now I want to know what’s inside!
Thank you so much Reb! I wish I could show it he he but I think RUclips would not like it 😅🤣 I do love my graphic novels though!
It was interesting to hear your graphic novel recommendations! Thank you for your fun Q&A - I think it's hard to condense these sorts of things because it's an opportunity for us to be passionate about the things we love for a while. Well done!
Thanks a lot! That’s really nice to hear especially as for some reason my recent videos didn’t do as well as my previous ones. So I’m glad that it’s still relevant to my audience ✨
These past two Q&A videos have been very interesting!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
I think I will try graphite with a neon background. I really like the look. :) Im going to Poland in December which is what I'm looking forward to
That’s amazing (about both these things!) Are you originally from Poland or are you just visiting? I love going and wish travel was easier (I’m not a good traveller 😅). Can’t wait to see the family (for the food and the 🍂 autumn too!)
@WeirdIsTheBest my grandmother was from Poland originally, and moved to the US. This will be my first time there.
That’s lovely! I hope you enjoy it! It’s a really nice place to visit. I highly recommend placki po węgiersku (unless you’re vegetarian) they’re a massive hash brown on steroids lol or cheese and mushroom croquettes or parowance (which are very similar to bao buns). Can you tell I miss the food 😅😂
@WeirdIsTheBest i cannot wait for the food. Taking a screenshot of your reply so I remember these 🤤
@Theswordinthesewn yay! I hope you love it all
this was so lovely as always
Thank you so much!
Thanks for answering all my q’s! My karaoke song of choice is Wilson Phillips “Hold On” 😂

I need to work in time to slow down on my vacations to capture it like this! What a fun way to document a trip!
Thank you Reb! Vacations can be hard to do art on, but I was lucky enough to go on a relaxed one 😀
Hello, nice pics. It is TRAFALGAR square . :)
