Hey quick question, what font do you use when you write text on screen, for example in the thumbnail it says “Get Ahead”
This is great! Really helping me to feel motivated to improve my Vball! The music, the cinematography, the overall presentation is so masterfully done. Excellent content. Probably the best on RUclips
Ngl chappy kinda hot
Hey Chappy, I’ve been playing volleyball for 4 years playing libero and I hate it, I’ve always wanted to become an outside hitter but I’m always told I’m too short. I don’t know where to go from here, I have a high vertical jump and just want to play volleyball as an outside. I’m stuck, we’re so I go from here?
Hey! A lot we could unpack with this one but without knowing all the circumstances like what level you're playing at, where you're playing (club? HS?) etc. It's hard to give specific advice. Some general advice though as smaller outsides, our job is to kill the in system ball and create opportunity through creative plays. Unless we're really mismatched on the opponent, the OOS against two blocks isn't generally the ball we can power through and kill. This means we need to be smart and learn to create the best opportunity for our team to score in these moments. Whether that be smart tips that can take out the opponents offence, recycle so we get another opportunity or tools so we can score. If you're able to find other opportunities to play a hitting position like open gyms or socials, then you can really build these skills and become effective. Once you've developed those skills, you could try to have an honest conversation with your current coach to see if you can be given a chance or a look at training. It never hurts to ask and be vocal about what you desire! But don't forget, you can't control your coaches decisions but you can always focus on your own development and journey.
Dude you are the best and deserve more engagement

Yooo, w Coach quote “if you aren’t improving and others are, you’re not staying the same, you’re actually getting worse” Kinda motivated me bro Jesus loves you all! ““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.“” John 3:16
Thank you man, also do you have any workout recommendations? Jesus loves you all!!! ““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16-18 ESV
Workout recommendations is always a hard one since it's dependent on where you're at in your journey and what you need most! As a general rules of thumb though... You can always benefit from building more springiness and ability to generate force quickly. This can be done through low level plyometrics and rhythm type work, along with strength based work :)
Keep doing what you’re doing every video you make is important for everyone watching in one way or another you’re helping all of us with your advice mentally and physically
How should I practice if I do not have anyone else to practice with all the time?
You can still get a lot of benefits training by yourself depending on what level of skill you're at. If you're fairly advanced in a skill then you may need extra equipment to help "emulate" what players could do for you in a game. Like using a rebound board to hit into as a "dig" so you can set a ball. You can also work other skills that you might be fairly undeveloped in alone. The individual work may be quite beneficial if you're not familiar with how certain body positions or processes should feel. Eg. If you usually play in the middle, you don't get to pass often.
Love your channel so much! Currently a middle blocker for my highschool team (aiming for starting setter) and these videos have been helping me alot.
great video, you deserve way more attention. can't wait for more vb content and for you to get to 1k!
This applies to most sports as well. Good vid!
Ur the best
Jesus loves us all ty
Amen
Idk about y’all but this coach is sexy af 😩
As an American what on earth is a club 😂😂
Haha in Australia, our high school volleyball scene isn't as big. For the majority of players, their main funnel for volleyball is club. Similar to how America has USA Volleyball offering competition for volleyball clubs like Bay to Bay etc. however the Australian format is generally a whole season and weekly games etc.
@@CourtsideWithChappy ohh I thought u meant like adult volleyball clubs
Ahhh in Australia we also offer clubs to adults too! There are no age restrictions for some competitions and they're only done by skill divisions.
Coach, thank you for this, i needed to hear this after a really tough season and I felt i was holding my team back. I genuinely wanted to give up the sport, but hearing this and applying this, ive found a level of determination i havent felt in a long time, thank you
I'm glad it helped you. We'll all get there, one day at a time :)
Just wanna say that you are one of the most inspirational and clear speakers I've heard in a long time. Your information is fantastic and your content creation is top-notch. Keep up the good work and please keep posting for the sake of me and any other players out there that need you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you! That's really nice to hear. 🥹 Definitely motivated to make more videos!
You should think about putting this stuff up on Spotify or something. Would love to listen to you while cycling to practice !
Great idea! I'll take a look into it :)
right now I have hit a plateau in my skill. I'm 14 and 176 cm and I'm trying out for my school team as outiside or opposite and I feel like im not jumping as high as I want to, and my skills such as receiving, setting and spiking feel sloppy and uncoordinated. also, my school team isn't very good, so I don't know how I can get better without proper trainers and equipment. is there anyway I can improve my skills/technique, particularly in receiving and spiking so I can get the position?
Probably get a coach
My best advice would be to watch and consume a lot of volleyball. See how the better players around you move and play. Then think about how you might emulate that and how it might feel for you, then attempt to emulate something similar and be really in tune with how it feels in your body. My other videos briefly touch on this learning process but I'll drop a specific one in the future!
Try pylometrics for higher jump
Good content comment for the algorithm
I also want to get a head
he's talking about the yerkes-dodson model
This is a good call out! And definitely some parallels to what I'm speaking about. I might add this one to my list for a future video :)
I’m passionate about the sport and want to get better, but where I live it’s really hard to find anywhere to play. I’ve only found one place so far and it’s just once a week for 4 hours . I’m worried that this will make it hard to apply what I practice on my own into real games.
Accessibility is always a tricky one! I'd say maybe even try get your friends to start playing or see if you can get some play in a different format. Depending on where you live, you can look at beach or grass volleyball. Play 2v2s instead of 6v6 indoor etc. Although they won't be 100% like the indoor game, your skills will still develop and transfer as a player as long as you've got a net :)
I am so excited for your next video! Keep going !
Great video Chapp❤ love from anh Chảy😍😍

Would love to hear your thoughts of how to deal with the mental side in the game
Will add this topic to the list!

Fr Bro
hey i am a brazilian voleyball player and i am 16 yers old and a iam 5foot 10 and not only me but my team needs a work on diciplene in game. can u help? (sorry for bad englsh)
@@Lujuni there's a variety of things that can cause drops in discipline in a game so it's a little hard to give advice without knowing the team. As a general theme, you want to focus on developing trust and structure in a team. You need to stick to that structure even if you guys lose points in the interim to hold the structure together. Below are some tips that can help: - Establish roles and responsibilities (who should take what and when) - Hold each other accountable to the above (even if it means you let the ball hit the floor and you lose the point) - Don't be afraid to communicate with each other if you feel something isn't working rather than trying to make solo adjustments.
@@CourtsideWithChappy thx❤️❤️
good luck! it's a matter of communication and trust, like the coach said

I needed this message. Had a game where I couldn’t get my passing right and blamed myself and others. Time to get bac on the right track. Thanks!
I'm glad it helped! We can't always have a great game, there are times when I cannot pass a single ball to save my life and that's ok. We don't always perform at 100% :)
U got gifted a nice jawline bro
Haha thanks 😂
Does the British accent make u better 😂😂
I'm actually Australian! But some of it might sound similar :)
I love your stuff bro, cant wait to see more videos from you in the future
Nice, thanks a lot mate

Top tier video, definitelly needs more attention!
Appreciate it! :)
Oh my god you just answered all of the questions I had on how to improve in literally one video 😭I just started playing as middle in our volleyball team for almost two months now (aiming to be starting setter or oh, mostly setter) and this really made cleared my mind because it was so cluttered.
These are the type of questions I had when I started and wish I knew! So just sharing my learnings over the years and hoping it lets other people have a head start. I'm sure you'll have an amazing season and get to set if you keep working hard! :)
First of all, we need to talk abt the HIGH VALUE of this content, seriously, what a beginning for a channel👏 much love from Brazil bro
Thank you so much! I'm keen to keep sharing knowledge with all ❤️
