Easy Afrobeat Creation in FL Studio: A Step-by-step Guide
This was a great test. Sonible sound very good. A little different than yours. Izotope sounded good before the mastering assistant was used.
Much appreciated. I agree with your assessment. Thanks for watching!
When I hear trap crap the last thing come to mind what EQ I want to use. I more thinking of if DAW can export directly to trash… PS: I’m so glad eq-4 don’t have AI. The best feature nowadays if plugin don’t have AI!
I get you. I’m neither for or against AI. Some AI tools will be helpful and leave the creative control to people. Some will just flat out steal and recreate. Nonetheless, it’s here to stay whether we like it or not.
Q4 for me because Sonible interface loads sooooo slow
😅 I actually had to reach out to the dev team earlier this year regarding some of the UI issues i was having on my machine. They’re pretty responsive.
Nice Video. But you really need to treat your room haha
Thanks! Regarding the room, I debated doing some treatment but decided not to. Even though acoustic panels may reduce reflections, it won’t get rid of the phasing - so it won’t give me a fully accurate sound. I found that doing the final mix on headphones gives me good enough results. I know that’s a controversial statement, but using reference tracks, proper headphones, and tools like sonarworks SoundID is quite sufficient in my opinion. Thanks again for watching.
@@InspiredWithAC Oh I should have clarified that I was talking about your room reverb being recorded into the mic
Oh, gotcha. You’re absolutely correct on that assessment. I use RX11 for some de-reverb, but it’s nowhere near as efficient as actually taking out the reflections in the room.
Smart EQ completely speeds up my work flow with AI! Pro Q4 is a disappointing update compared to Tone Boosters EQ pro with has transient sustain & filters that can remove ambience in any range for around $30 next level! I'm sticking with Pro Q3 for basic needs.
Competition inspires innovation. I use the sonible smart series bc I can’t afford Pro-Q 4 yet but I’m super excited to see what sonible does for their next versions. I hope they expand upon the instruments & genre style lists, and add some transient & tonal EQing like the SplitEQ. Maybe a slightly refined U.I upgrade as well.
Well said. Thanks for watching.
For a dummy like me exploring the smart eq has been ear opening
Not a dummy when you’re learning. Glad to hear it’s been helpful. It’s a fantastic EQ. Thanks for watching.
I’m more torn than I started 😂 Price difference is another factor.
For sure the price is a big factor. My advice is to always wait for a sale and buy from online stores like JRR shop or AudioDeluxe where you can use their 10-15% off coupons even on sale products. Also, you can try buy/sell forums on KVR audio or knobcloud. Never buy plugins at full price.
Just feels like an ad for Pro-q 4
Toneboosters pro q can go all the way down to 5hz and do 6 q factor none others can do this
Equalizer Pro? That’s a solid EQ (though if I recall correctly, the demo has annoying pop up). In regard to the 5hz range, I personally think 10hz is more than sufficient. Most musicians will cut or shelf around the 20-30hz. Going down to 5hz is great, but not a “make or break” feature in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
Both are incredible.
Agreed. Thanks for watching.
a bias review...
Definitely and ad fro pro q 4
Not an ad at all. I bought both products and use them both. Neither company paid me to make the video. Just trying to help others who are thinking of buying either of these EQs. Thanks for watching though. ✌🏽
This was an unusually good comparison and review 👌👑🌟🙏! My personal reflection is that I personally don’t think of AI as only a tool for the people that does not know how to, but a tool to keep professionals in the creative flow of mixing by removing basic tasks and by quickly inspiring us by giving us new perspectives and alternatives just like asking ChatGPT. Think of it 😘😇 Keep on rocking in the free world man!
Much appreciated! Fantastic feedback and reflection. Thanks for watching.
Funny HOFA had many of these features more than 7 years ago
What's hofa
DynamicTilt or IQ-Series? Also, the problem with a lot of feature-rich EQs (plugins in general) is the overall UI and ease of use.
They're both super good!
Absolutely. I use smart:EQ for group unmasking and Pro Q for general EQ. Thanks for watching.
Let me know if you tried Pro-Q 4 yet or if you're sticking with Smart EQ:4
I only use Fruity Parametric EQ 2 😅 one day when I buy another EQ, I will buy Pro-Q 4 or 3. or 5 😁
@@chris_g_slslove it. Parametric EQ 2 is still one of my fav stock EQs.
@@ABurg396 agreed. Definitely can’t go wrong with it!
@@InspiredWithAC I got Ableton EQ 8, just gonna wait for EQ 9 Naw jk but I got the Sonible Essentials bundle for a hundo, so I figured that's a good deal. And I'm just trying the grouping feature now. Still want Pro Q 4 tho haha. The Smart Comp and Limit are good too.
@@ViN-EzLYou’re gonna wait for that one extra band?
Pro Q 4 Vs Smart:EQ 4 Feature video is out: ruclips.net/video/SsxirpGNI-4/видео.html
Lets keep in mind another great thing about Pro Q is that the control box thingy with the knobs looks like a Nintendo 64.
Waiting for the Pro Q 4 vs Smart EQ 4 bro
This week. 😁
Is there a longer more in depth version?
Yea. The full video is linked in the short. Here’s the link if you don’t see it: ruclips.net/video/ykU_-6ZDzgs/видео.html
what is the best alternative for Pulsar 8200 for mid/side EQ, can I use ozone? please guide me.
Ozone works as well. It all depends on what you’re looking for in your EQ. If it’s just mid/side, both Ozone and Neutron 5 (older Neutron versions don’t have mid/side) are more than capable. Sonible’s Smart:EQ and Pro Q 4 have mid/side processing as well.
I got a upgrade and tbh i love it man and you explain it really well too bro
Appreciate the kind words! Glad you like the new features. It was worth the upgrade cost in my opinion.
@@InspiredWithACI now feel like there’s no reason to go with Sonible instead of Fabfilter…
I’d still recommend Sonible for people who struggle with EQ or who want quick group-level unmasking. I’ll explain in the new video this week. Other than that, Q4 is in a league of its own and it’s not even close.
Master the beat without vocals is not ideal but I understand beat makers want too upload their beats at a certain volume level.
Absolutely correct. I only do so on instrumentals I release without ever intending on getting vocals on it or when submitting for placements so they sound “competitive”.
Just use default preset in SmartEQ4 with deactivated high/low cut + high/low shelf, done. Pro-Q 3 → click Opt (Mac) and drag the band up or down to make it dynamic, done. (Maybe with two fingers on the trackpad. It goes so intuitively I don't even know what I'm clicking any more.)
On a trackpad you two finger press and it will pull up the menu for dynamic on pro q 3. So it's not really an extra click unless youre using an old mouse.

Much appreciated 🙏🏽
does it sound as good as fab filter though?
It’s transparent like Pro-Q 3. You’d generally use these for sculpting the sound rather than making it “musical” by giving it an overall tone or saturation like a Pultec would.
@@InspiredWithAC thanks
I use these four EQs for different things for mixing... Fabfilter Eq, Smart Eq4, TB Equalizer Pro and Kirchoff Eq.
How’s Kirchhoff? I debated buying it last year but ended up passing on it.
@InspiredWithAC Kirchoff is topnotch just like Fabfilter Pro-Q. Just add it to your Eq collection if you don't have it or make it available next on your wishlist of quality Eqs. UVI's Shade Eq is another mention also for crazy filtering automation effects!
Your master was better, but ducking aside, the space the Sonible created was great. Im terrible at mixing, so i'm getting the Smart EQ4 thanks to you. Great video 💯
so where is this comparison: Sonible Vs IZotope? wasn't only yours vs both AIs?
The comparison was their Ai capabilities versus manual mixing and mastering. The point was to show how each one compares to a person doing the mix for themselves. Though I could have A/B demo’d Sonible’s Ai mix vs Izotope’s.
@@InspiredWithAC yeah, i get it but...i was more about: Sonible Vs IZotope🙂
Been doing a Smart Essentials bundle vs Neutron 5 demo shootout. So far, Sonible easily gets me something useable with no fuss. The Neutron 5 assistant is the fastest way to convert sound to pain. Every time I try it, it just decides I need to die by tinnitus from hi hat, sibilance, or just boil my flesh off with whatever high frequency it can find/generate.
“Convert sound to pain”. That legit made me chuckle 😂. I don’t disagree though. I upgraded my neutron to 5. I was debating doing another demo like the video here and I couldn’t get a single mix to sound professional simply by using the assistant alone. That said, do I love Izotope, just not any of their Ai fluff.
Hey man, awesome work! May I ask what those “war drums” are? Been looking for a similar drum in my opus orchestra subscription but I can’t seem to find one with that kind of punch to it. Cheers, keep up the awesome work man!
Hey. They’re from Heavyocity’s Damage 2. It’s the Ensemble Toms patch. If you’re using the Composer Cloud subscription, Hollywood orchestral percussion has Concert Toms. Also, look for taikos as well for beefy drums. Storm Drum 3 has some beefy percussion kits.
For me your mix and the Sonible version sounded equal and smoother than the Izotope one. If you want quick solutions, go for Izotope, but Sonible seems to be a bit smarter.
Your mix sounds better
But I have band love both of these.
If you need more than 2-4 normal filters (other than mid-side nodes), you need to re-record the track.
100% agreed, unless you’re doing sound design. Especially if you’re automating filters. But for general EQ, I don’t think most will need to go beyond 4 or 5.
you've just saved me 60 bucks, thank you.
what does BNYX use in GO AGAIN to master 🔊
Tough to say without the producer/engineer revealing it. I listened to the track. You can definitely achieve it with a similar mastering chain to this. EQ, compression, saturation, clipping, limiting. Vocals had auto tune. You can also add some FX like delay and reverb to taste.
what instruments did you use
Quite a few: Intro pads: Ashlight Low synth: CUBE + Serum Plucks: Synth Anthology 4 Strings: Albion One + Cinestrings Pro Brass: Cinebrass Pro Voice: EW Voices of Soul
@@InspiredWithAC alr cool, do you use a specific composing software or?
@@InspiredWithAC cause that beat drop was sick
I used FL Studio for this one specifically. I generally use FL, but I also use Cubase and MPC.
супер
The God particle has changed my life….no joke….i record in my bedroom style studio and get a high quality sound but never could achieve any loudness after mastering ….i was stuck in that -11-10 LUFS range….as soon as i got the God particle…..I reached -6.4, -5.9, -7.1……with quite a bit of ease actually. I’m not sponsored by Crafle or Jason Joshua….but dayum…..I mean that’s what I’m talkin bout.
I prefer smart EQ 4 over Fabfilter Pro. Never used FF since I got sEQ4
Nice! I still find myself going to ProQ as the default. I think the issue is unique to my cpu (Intel) and gpu (Gtx 2060), but experiencing instability with the GUI really put me off the EQ4. I check every now and then to see if there’s an update from Sonible.
Subscribed brother ;)
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching.
Love your video its helping me alot
Awesome. I’m glad to hear that. Thanks for watching!
with your insights and clear analysis i think you can become a very good mixing and mastering engr.
Much appreciated!
If you deal with bad lagging or just freezing, say in Ableton while using multiple smart EQs.. switch to integrated graphics instead of nvidia. Can do it in the nvidia control panel, and have it where itll only go to integrated in ableton in the programs setting. can stack them up now, and its super smooth
yeah neutron just makes it harsh if you is the AI. i do like it without doing that. Sonible with that grouping feature..i think im going that route
I discovered this trick some few months ago and it is super useful, I personally prefer this type of sidechaining over the fruity limiter one.
Agreed. It gives you greater control over the frequencies you’re ducking down instead of side chaining the entire signal.
