25 Year Agroforestry Planting with Michael Pilarski "Skeeter"
Heck, I threw seeds into a raised bed in a greenhouse six years ago and it's still chugging away.
Motherwort is also great for anxiety and depression. Definitely one of my favorite plants.
Hi Skeeter! I can’t believe I found you on RUclips! This is jungle Joe from Saskatoon. Sending you a big hug. Thanks for showing me about Teasel!!!
This definitely is our African basil. I'm growing this one and the taller Indian one
My oat straw turned orange before the milky time. Do you know what happened?
According to the NIH, 21% of cases (that's one in five) of schizophrenia are MISDIAGNOSED cases of Toxoplasmosis. It's an infection of a protozoa (cousin to the protozoa that causes malaria) that creates cysts and when they grow in the brain, they cause psychosis. The NIH also says that artemisinin, from Artemisia annua (Sweet Annie) is what kills the protozoa. You'd think psychiatrists would give all their psychotic patients a trial of artemisinin but they don't-they just keep patients coming back until they eventually die. I gave homeopathic Artemisia vulgaris to one relative who was diagnosed with "incurable" "bipolar with psychosis" and another relative with so-called "schizophrenia." Both recovered 100% and are free of mostly-worthless psych drugs and the "experts" who prescribe them. I'm pretty sure they both contracted Toxoplasmosis from our sick cat. - Linda, author of "Goodbye, Quacks - Hello, Homeopathy!"
my cat tends the cat nip plot, i think he planted it? nepita cateria
I’ve had my white sage for 4 summers. It freezes in my greenhouse, but this keeps coming back in spite of not watering much in the winter. Maybe that’s the trick?!?
Love your bucket attachments
What time of year or plant stage should the roots be harvested?
Nevermind, I heard the question at the end. Early spring as they are emerging 🙏
Mine is being attacks by orange beetles, I’ve been spraying Castile soap….. plants are still suffering also some primrose on my property has the same pest beetle
Dried chopped licorice root soaked in water overnight will make a fantastic drink, it is a traditional drink in the Middle East. I do not know if the American licorice route will have the same taste or effect as the European licorice root .
Really helpful Thank you!
Can we buy this from you...
I don't want people in the southwest to be discouraged about growing Valerian. I have been growing it in my Albuquerque yard for 20 years. Lousy clay soil and very hot summers. It is a popular plant in our neighborhood. Soo, it may not flourish at the same level as elsewhere, but you can grow beautiful plants. It is my tried and true plant and has surpassed many of the drought tolerant plants in my yard. Happy gardening!
Can the leaves be dried and used for tea? I just harvested a bunch and need to know
We try to grow it in a Mediterranean climate, it is a wonderful plant, but it needs additional watering because summers are dry months /mm. 3-4 months below 30 millimeters
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nice video. Thank you for this
Dress like Afghan make the video more realistic
Ty Skeeter for your wisdom. But cutting the branch is not like taking hair from the dog. It's a limb. It grows back but the tree still feels it. ❤
Mr. Pilarski, I am thrilled to see that you are capable of growing this plant. When you harvest the seeds, may I request you to sell the seeds for me? I will bear the cost of shipping if you want. I will furnish my details if you communicate with me through this comment section. Thank you for the video.
Aha, just bought an old farm Lots of these. They are about 12 feet tall and in a great location. How to prune? Or do i need to? Its not in my way.
Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Psalm 104:1 KJV He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; Psalm 104:14 KJV But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18 KJV
How do you germinate it?
Hello sir you can sell to me seed Gotu kola
Skullcap skull cap, beautiful skulllll caaaapppp
The previous owner of my place planted sooooo many of these. But she didn't plant them around the perimeter of the 1.5 acres. She planted them in the middle of a small orchard. I hated them there so I ripped out about 30 of them. I wouldn't have minded them at all if she'd planted them at the perimeter. I may do that myself since I just had some trees come down in a storm two days ago.
They'll propagate from cuttings if you have some living ones left
@@NHamel123 I do! Many, many. This woman said she planted 200 trees/shrubs, etc. On 1.5 acres. LOL
@@omarra6781 lol I did the same on 1 acre. Made a hedge and shade/wind break for my chicken run
@@NHamel123 She said it was for a windbreak too, but lemme tell ya, around here nothing stops the wind. And those things are very "shaggy". I did leave a bunch toward the back of the property, along with a variety of trees, and have named it the Disenchanted Forest.
@@omarra6781 I'm in NW Kansas, I sympathize with the wind issues
Hi. I’d love to get some seeds from you if you have extra. 😊
Thanks Sir.
Is this sting on skin?
No, not at all. It is like a mint. Not the nettle .
I thought netle, that's why didn't buy for my cat. I have severe allergy of netle. Thanks a lot. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Skeeter , Enoch from Okanogan here. So this is the American Licorice and not Liquorice Glycyrrhiza Glabra / China ?
How do people get seed ?
did you forget the "how to grow" part?
Amazing appreciate the content!
Love your tutorials ! Thank you !
Wonderful bits of useful information.
Bumblebee love the flowers!
Ive noticed everything loves the flowers. Bees of all types, humming birds, butterflies and what seems like every type of insect.
Amazing that you are growing Black Cohosh in full sun, it grows in Forests here in Western NC but I have noticed the best roots i find are on the edge of the Forest where it gets more Sun. I have been trying some Black Cohosh where it gets more Sun. Thanks, 9:26 really amazing the root sizes you are getting, really good looking plants.
Is it safe to eat and swallow the seeds? Can I just chew and swallow the whole berry?
Absolutely. It is one of the healthiest foods in the world. Studies show it boosts production of all four types of stem cells which are responsible for reversing aging.
haha great, this si what every 25 year old intern i've met would end up like if I didn't prevent them from moving the free piano into the community house
We are confused by your piano statement, please elaborate.
@@PlantWizardSkeeterpianos are free and easy to get because they are such a space burden. Farm interns always showing up thinking they're going to start a new life and be extra musical, but end up just leaving a junky piano in the dwelling they inhabited during their stay
I’ve been making a motherwort tincture for the past couple of months and no longer take any pain killers during my cycle.
For the dream! Yeeeet! 🌈💚🌟🤙
Hello, I'm interested in teasel root purchase. Do you have some?
Do not take too much as this is a increasingly rare lichen although it is not endangered yet

Living (leaving) the dream
Thank you for sharing! I had no idea what the plant looked like or that you only use the roots in harvesting. It's too tall a plant for my tiny comm garden plot I rent every year, as I live in an apt, but I will check out your site as the next best way to make my own meds. I've been buying capsules from Walmart, and am trying hard to get away from that.
